Once you learn this fight, it becomes a lot easier. I absolutely love how he shoots straight up to distract you then shoots his quick shots while the slower ones come at you. I can't tell you how many times I died cause I was too busy looking at the shots that went up and forgot he shoots again straight at you. Really shows how smart the bosses are with these fights.

Exactly. A lot of these fight have these kind of bait mechanics and I love that because I know I didn't die because of some bullcrap reason but it truly was my own fault for falling for it. These fights felt near impossible when I first played them on crit lv49, but learning each and every fight and finally beating them feels like such a great reward. Especially Xigbar's fight, but then you get just an AP boost and then you feel like, 🙃.
Not all of these were Yoko's work. Forza Finale, for instance (The Nort Court) was done by Yasunori Nishiki, who also did Yugioh Master Duel, several songs in FF7 Remake, and the Octopath Traveler games. The whole team was fire.

Probably because he wasn't being serious before, it always seemed like Xigbar was just along for the ride and more or less was apathetic to most things including fighting Sora.. Until the curtain rose that is.

Did you know that there is a glitch in this fight? If you activate "Showdown" at the same time that Xigbar changes the arena for the DM he will simply walk forward and do nothing. This allows you to finish the fight instantly.
I like the idea that this is what he canonically would have done if he really fought on full power. In his previous fights, he either held back or didn't take his opponent seriously enough to consider it a duel to the death. And it's believable too, since basically all of these moves are what he already used, just in a more overwhelming manner that is meant to mindgame his opponent into a loss.
I for real have been on this dude for like 2 hours on critical mode, and the entire time I thought the ONLY chance to hit Xigbar is right after Showdown. Didn't once occur to me to airstep into him. THIS is why I watch UA-cam tutorials. Thank you!

Xigbar ended up being the easiest boss for me as pretty much all of his attacks outside the DM could be blocked and those that couldn't were more easily identifiable and were in mostly separate attack strings
What about Luxord? All of his attacks could be blocked and if you time it correctly you can counter his four cards move. Everything else is just keeping an eye out for the cards on the ground
Considering what happened the last time someone with a keyblade dramatically shot a projectile at him, Data Xigbar's lucky Data Sora didn't just try to shoot his other eye out.
This was the easiest one for me, once I learned his moveset I could read him like a book. His desperation move is also way easier to avoid compared to Larxene.
What abilities did you use? Im struggling to find ways to do the shotlock combos because he does a horizontal slash. I’m not sure what I have equipped that’s doing that

Would love to see xigbar being secret boss where first part would be him using his sniper, you will beat him and the he will summon no name get 10 more health bars and the real fight starts, him revealing he is Luxu to sora
Phase Skip. He sets up the battle so that Xigbar does the same thing every time and practices the route. You can use this to skip entire phases sometimes
0:57 I've learned a decent damage chance here. Right as xigbar sends his shots through the portals, the second you block, you'll have enough time to fully charge a shotlock before he changes the backdrop to normal again
The showdown only happened once in my fight with him, would rather it happen more often to make up for how big a pain he is to hit. Also not a fan of much his shots hurt sora compared to how little reflecting them hurts him
The thing that annoys the most is that attack he does when he screams "Think fast!" Where he shoots the big blue arrows that go in random directions, I always get hit and fuck everything up 😭 P.S. I do try shotlocking but sadly I am not perfect and sometimes miss. It makes me want to retry the whole thing entirely 😤
Mr. Colpekker It's a flowmotion attack, I think it's sonic slash, personally I turn off every flowmotion combat ability other than buzz saw and that works pretty well
I had completely forgotten I can zip to my target with the shotlock trick this fight has been incredibly frustrating for me. I still think it's a bit overkill how difficult these fights are but I am willing to try again now.
Can someone explain to me what the hell I'm meant to do here? Sometimes during the donut ring his spread shot goes off despite me blocking it perfectly as normal, sometimes it gets cancelled. When it does go off, there's a 50% chance the shots will home in one me, so I block. Sometimes they don't, and the block ends before the projectiles hit me, so I git hit and die. When he's firing projectiles from the ceiling, there is literally no guaranteed safe way for me to get to him in time without a random chance of being sniped! Everything I do, everything I try - different airstep times, waiting until the end, blocking mid air during a combo - either I get sniped by a stray shot that followed me or he teleports away to do his next hit. What am I meant to do here?! And during his DM, when he sprays shots in a circle for the second time, I can't for the life of me consistently dodge it. I just can't. What's the trick? I've tried copying your timing perfectly. Doing a Pro codes run on Critical so every time Xigbar cheats, there's no guarantee Wizards Ruse will heal me :( Genuinely find this boss harder than Saix because of how stupid it is. I can do a no damage run against Saix with Pro Codes. This? Impossible...
Can you guys explain to me why most people started using Kingdom Key in their roster? I'm using Ultima, Oblivion and Oathkeeper like a peasant in those fights.

On Critical mode, you have an ability called "critical recharge" which allows you to build up situation commands (arrows) quicker if you are during an MP charge (easiest way to trigger that is using cure)
It’s an ability called critical recharge. It’s exclusive to Critical Mode and makes your gauge build a lot faster. And since the gauge builds super slow on crit it’s a godsend

How do you cancel the air step animation so fast? Every time I try I still break into that slow flow motion attack which throws off my combo.
I think you have to unable the flow motion attack from your abilities, so that instead you attack normally.
Dylan Perez you just disable the flow motion attack abilities.
Disable Sonic flash skill or something like that, it prevents you from using that slow attack
Organization xiii is like Akatsuki from naruto. Master Xenahort is Pain, Xigbar is Tobi and the Master of masters is Madara.

Might be stupid but whats with using cure when not needed?? Is that a strat?
On Critical mode, you have an ability called "critical recharge" which allows you to build up situation commands (arrows) quicker if you are during an MP charge (easiest way to trigger that is using cure)
@@Alex856100 its not just that hes also using cure converter notice how whenever he uses cure he gains a bar of the situation arrows

It’s an ability called critical recharge.
It’s exclusive to Critical Mode and makes your gauge build a lot faster. And since the gauge builds super slow on crit it’s a godsend

If you have it when he does his DM, you lose it. Learned that the hard way when I tried to save it to skip his DM
