Recently got back into Kingdom Hearts after not really knowing what to do back in 2002 when I first got KH1 as a kid. Binged it all once everything came to Xbox in June. You and Pedro really help with finding strategies. I didn't know you could block some of those Berserk attacks! Going to give it a go later. Thanks for the content!
Not sure if you already know this, but there's an opening during saix's multiple dash attacks, example here 1:19 - 1:27 . There, you can actually punish him by doing Dodge + Guard + Counter . Anyway, nice video !
@@WillJV2 With these restrictions you can also avoid Saix DM for first time, it has hp checker if he uses it or not, After he charges Blue cauge fully, 8,5 hp bars or more depleted Saix will use DM, less and will not. You can skip his moves also when yellow bar is depleting by extending your combo with timed weak attack. So in theory you can do this battle with Saix using DM only once and finishing it around just a bit over 5mins.
3 things I learned from fightimg Siax. 1.) Nano Gear is your friend. 2.)Blizzard at close range is key. 3.) Learn timing of blocking and dodging and knowing how to use them.
I kinda feel obligated to tell you this, which you probably know already, but at 0:54 (after he throws his claymors at you and telports to you) you can block both of his follow up attacks. I noticed you dodged one and blocked the other.
It's quite fascinating to see how well you can play these data and super bosses when you know thier attack patterns, how to aviod them, and opportunities to attack to a T. I say the only hard part is fighting against multiple heartless or bosses cause its hard to predict when multiple things come at you at the same time
Oh god. He used his DM three times in one fight lmao. I didn't think that was possible in a boss fight unless you don't punish enough openings and let it drag out too long, which you didn't do.
What is the difference between this and normal Saix on critical other than having no allies? He seems to have the exact same attacks as his regular fight while functioning the exact same way. Damage output from my experience is also comparable (meaning 2 hits equals death).
His patterns are mixed up quite differently, as well as the openings. The moves are also a little different, and like the other fights, get a bit harder in the last phase. It’s similar to every other data fight in the sense that theyre more fleshed out versions of the main story fights.
i beat this guy already and now im trying to beat him again with pro codes but its hella hard man, i want to have at least two codes off but i dunno which would help most, do you have any recommendations?
i know i'm late and u prob figured it out but you have to press the circle button right when it appears and time it correctly in order to get that attack to work
No way I could ever no damage this boss when I way too much troublein a normalData fightwith him, but men your good. I resorted to counter shielding him in normal fight
I really dont know how you can air step to him when he throws his axes at you, get a hit, air dodge away and then go back for a combo. Every time I do it, I get to him but my attacks dont land. His axes hit me and Im done.
If I can't get the timing, you could just dodge the axes and not care about hitting him. He has a couple other vulnerable points, so you don't need to hit him there.
After he gets knocked out of his second berserk, does he mutter "Axel....?" If he does, that's an amazing bit of detail that they put in there, too bad it was never in the original.
@@jakegibbs6003 that's too bad, there's still small nuances throughout the other boss fights that add that extra little touch to it. Too bad they needed dlc to bring out some of the originality
I'm having a bitch of a time trying to get the risk dodge prompt during the berserk. Anyone have any tips? I've managed to get it accidentally a couple times.
Can anyone help me with the stupid DM? I've tried gliding and get killed by a shockwave. But I can hardly keep track of Saix AND the claymores on the ground. Anyone? Please? :( the rest of the fight is freaking perfect.

Okay, is there an official name for Saix's weapon? I see some people call it a sword, some people call it an axe, some call it a claymore, I saw one guy calling it a hammer. I always thought in was a big club, wtf is it?
A bit late but... If you look at the base weapon (the actual metal part) it actually resembles a spear. The blue spikes on the outside make it more akin to a battleaxe. As others have said it’s apparently officially a claymore (long 2handed sword) which can be simplified as a sword.
The actual answer to this question is that based on the Final Fantasy job classes each original Organization member is based off of, the Berserker job class in FF wields axes. However there was already an Organization member introduced prior to Saïx who used an axe (Lexaeus), therefore Saïx was given a transforming blade-type weapon instead. Canonically, Saïx’s weapon type is called a claymore. I personally like to think of his claymore as being something kind of akin to a Charge Blade or Switch Axe from Monster Hunter. It’s got both a “sword” mode and an “axe” mode going on.
Yes, HP slip makes the margin for error against bosses very small. Combine that with no cure and no battles items and it makes making mistakes basically a death sentence.

Since Saix eated a lot of iron in this fight I guess the ice cream he is going to eat after the fight to cool down will taste really salty.

actually if you dodge those 5 claymore spinning attack and stand still，you can block into a risk dodge to punish him

How do you consistently get the rising spiral after the airstep hit? Every time I hit him and press circle, nothing happens (yes I have it equipped)

You can Risk dodge the swings after rolling through the hammers instead of using the shotlock airstep to get slightly more Damage

Why use triple rush. If you want less revenge value just use speed slash. It's way better.

In 358, they're referred to as claymores. Claymores are supposed to be a type of longsword, and Lunatic doesn't fit that description at all...
