Honourable mention: The infamous 'Ma Belle Peche' cutscene from Xenosaga Episode 1, where the censored version somehow became _far more_ disturbing. There's the understandable changes, like removing blood and cutting away from Kirsch's arm being broken (though the sound's still there), but then we get to the man himself, Albedo. They removed his knife and re-rendered all instances where he holds it, resulting in him _tearing off his arm and head with his bare hands._ They then, for whatever the fuck reason, *UNCENSORED HIS STILL-TALKING SEVERED HEAD.* No wonder poor MOMO faints at the end. Also, there's a certain scene in Xenosaga Episode 3 where a woman is mauled to death and her young daughter tries desperately to scoop the pool of blood back into her mother's body. Yep, they removed *all* the blood from that scene, without changing anything else.
Oh God, that latter scene is still the worst censorship I've ever endured. The scene would've been heartbreaking, it was supposed to be heartbreaking, but it just looks so stupid now that you can't take it seriously.
One of the biggest failures of censorship, for me, was in the first time I played Chrono Trigger. @@Icelink256 Not with Neil Cockmann around, anyway.
@@JamesKnox Summertime Tawna with darker skin would make sense as she would have a "tan" but the watermelon thing is what makes it very questionable
I could see the "Watermelon" skin meaning something different. I never hear of the watermelon themed racism much, so it could easily slip my mind.
Still not a bad idea to change it.
@@JamesKnox Dave Chappelle made a joke about liking watermelon and KFC. Guess his effort to erase the negative connotation on those food is wasted.
I love that you can see Odd trying really hard not to laugh at 9:54. Absolutely loved the skits in this video
I was wondering earlier when a new Oddheader video would be out. Yay.
9:55 Oddheader trying his hardest not to die laughing 😂
Eyup XD
My day has been made.
My night has been made
@@dba2k15 It's night for you too? Damn.
I misread your comment as "My DAD has been made" and was utterly confused for a second or so until I realized I've got poor eyesight and should go to bed

When Japan censors something you know that game has made it lol
Japanese censorship is kinda dumb, and the motivation is also dumb
Actually, japan has a ridicolously heavy censorship. A normal level of violence in western game is rated something like AO, and need to have very simple cover art too... It's kinda sad actually.
I wouldn't say so, Japan censors violence a lot more than sexually sugestive stuff, while in the west its the opposite, its just difference in culture I guess
Not really at all, Japan censors significantly more often than most countries do.
@@221Prohunter Clearly someone's unfamiliar with Australia's video game censorship board
that intro is......depressingly not far off from playing games in Australia
Glad to see another upload! Also the starting skit is great
Yeah, although he has an Odd Head.
gigachad
Why isn’t the title “Oddest Censorships”
Honestly a complete missed opportunity.
that intro was amazing 😂
Just wanted to add that you DON‘T have to pay actual money to unlock characters, Karts etc. in Crash Team Racing Nitro fueled. You can unlock them just by racing and earning the in game currency.
That used to be how it worked, but after the game launched they snuck the microtransactions in to avoid having to put any information regarding it on the box/ in the reviews. They actively cheapened the experience for profit after already releasing the game
@@kendromeda42 yeah I know. That wasn’t a nice move. But still you can unlock everything without spending a single cent. I did it myself without buying extra Wumpa coins. The option is there but you don’t have to use it.
@@Luxtra405 any micro transaction game gives you the option to earn things without buying anything. But clearly they stilt and break the flow of the game by making it increasingly harder, forcing people who have less time/are less patient/have more addictive personalities to buy them instead.
Micro transactions should be banned, plain and simple, stop making excuses for these greedy companies
@@PoptartParasol I absolutely agree that they should be banned. And I’m absolutely not trying to protect Activisions decision to include them into game.
I was just saying that it is absolutely possible and actually quite easy to clear out the entire pitstop without spending ANY extra money.
@@PoptartParasol *In paid games
A game thats free needs a way to make money. That being said there are still TERRIBLE ways to handle it even in a free game.

>Shower time with muscular men
>Crossdressing Cloud

Great sponsor too I've used privacy for years
"Motomu Toriyama"
Ah that explains everything
Explain
I am curious was he known for doing weird stuff before or after this?
I feel like the "explanation" comes from the surname Toriyama. As in, Akira Toriyama, creator of Dragon Ball?
@@DriftedVisionMan Motomu Toriyama directed FF X-2 and the FF Xiii trilogy, there is a lot of strange sexual shit in the former and made a lot of weird comments of protagonist of the FF Xiii trilogy over the years interviews, like comparing her to roses.
I jumped on this notification as fast as I could, you don't pass up new Oddheader
Pass up new Oddheader?
No. No, man. Shit, no, man. I believe you'd get your ass kicked doin' something like that, man.
oddheader uploaded which means the next 10 minutes of my life automatically disappear
"Harrumph! I'm taking this too!" 🤣
The Watermelon one was really funny
This should've been a collab with Censored Gaming
The most memorable piece of censorship in games for me, is Saga II (The Final Fantasy Legend II) changing opium smuggling to banana smuggling.
Holy shit that beginning was so good.
1:54 I will never forgive the Germans for this crime against humanity
Unrelated to the germans' other (arguably more impactful) crimes against humanity
The cat food factory in Dog's Life looked light it was a modded level in Postal 2. Christ...
The NPCs in Half-Life are just disappointed with the Developers. 😅
Those skits were amazing - whoever is playing the censorship guy is clearly having a great time. I honestly wasn't expecting him to show back up again. It caught me off guard in the best way possible
"Wait a second, where are all these bubbles coming from?"
Uhhh...the bubble bath? The one you see at the bottom of the screen?
Brap?
Another well executed 90s feel. thank you!
I love oddheader's funny little edits in between games on the list, like when the dude takes the sandwhich away.
You know it's gonna be a great day when oddheader uploads
The bathhouse that the cut cutscenes from Phantasy Star Online 2 take place in can be visited now that NGS has been released through Photo Quests.
Was just thinking yesterday about Oddheader
The back of the Department of Censorship shirt reads "Allan please add details". Absolutely legendary.
I scrolled my discord server list so fast to find the notification, oh boy!
"Where Are All These Bubbles Coming From?"

Finally feels like ages since you posted a video
4:04 I'm not complaining
Mama mia, Toad has been a murdered!
I can't believe I'm still learning stuff about FF7. It's insane how much was in that game.
they added the autopsy back into the xbox version of conkers live and reloaded i think
The Japanese version of MGS Peace Walker has a censored torture scene.
One of the biggest failures of censorship, for me, was in the first time I played Chrono Trigger. During my first playthrough I had no idea that the soup in the prehistoric celebration scene was a replacement of sake, but… the characters still behaved pretty much the same, and had pretty much the same dialogue, so I assumed the soup was alcoholic anyway.
Shit, I was just about to go to sleep 😭 It’s funny because just yesterday I was thinking we were about due for an oddheader video
3:18. You have no idea why an Easter egg would be in a game? Dude ain't that your entire channel
I appreciate this mans dedication for making these amazing videos
The dedication to bring us things we haven't seen. Its awesome.

wow, new upload time to binge watch until the next upload
been binge watching through your vids recently. I am a big fan of the secret texture added to the back of the shirt of the Departnent of Censorshipa man, defintenitely one of the most subtle easter eggs across your videos
Were the mysterious panties Barret's kid's then? Cause that's messed up.
Regardless of the identity, they depicted as a kid's.. so yeah, messed up fits
Most likely Marlene's, yes. Hence why they shut that down themselves. For a comedy section, having Cloud wear Barret's adoptive daughter's panties is... pretty fucking weird. Oh, and not to mention the NPC having snatched them from the bar as well.
It could just be that trope in anime/manga where they poke fun at a person wearing underwear that they "should" have grown out of.
Situation is probably that he tried to snatch Tifa's panties but got Marlene's without knowing.
I doubt a kid's would fit a grown man for cross-dressing. They've probably just got a cutesy print or something.
Just me & my cat, when I'm eating:
- Will you get out of here?!
- Nyoooo!!!
2:52 "strange censorship"? More like what the hell is this doing in a Mario game?!
lmao I remember that photo of a cat @ 4:13. One of the earliest memes I remember was that cat photo with Domo-Kun chasing it and text saying "Every time you masturbate god kills a kitten"

Ok
I have no idea why I missed this 3 days later from the upload date but I always appreciate the inclusion of a proper caption for all your videos. Keep it up oddhead!
Yeah when a brick fell on my head, instead of dying I just sat on the ground.
4:48 you have this almost entirely wrong. Bubble Bath Babes an NES game, not a SNES game. And it was the US version of a game by the same name developed in Taiwan. It was released in Japan too, but it was nearly a year after the US release and it was named "Soap Panic". The Mermaids of Atlantis game was a censored and re-released version so they could also sell it to a broader audience. I don't expect anyone to just know ALL these things, but like one google search would have helped you out so much, man.
