Number one it is totally awesome to see someone still doing traditional forms, number two, The gentleman in this video has very powerful stances. It is proof that his training has paid off. And the root of those stances will generate very intense punching power.
You’re too kind! Aside from martial arts training I try to lift weights 3 to 4 days a week. I practiced Tang Soo Do for many years which is a strong external style. My Kung Fu Sifu’s actually tell me to loosen up a bit and not use so much power.
One of the key purposes of stances is to strengthen the legs and build muscular endurance. They offer stability to the execution of various strikes or blocks. They help the practitioner learn of how twist their waist when transitioning between techniques to deliver power to the strike or block. In practical application you would alter the stance to be much higher and more natural. If you're interested in more technical details on this form, I recommend this recording of a webinar from Sifu Mak Che-Kong. www.reeleast.com/product/laugarkuen/
Good 👍 show But I wonder 🤔 I see you stopping the flow inbetween. I m not sure if it is intended in the kata itself? Or may be more practice needed? Yes the katas are tough n need much more power n practice. Great 👍 🙏🏼 Job
