@@jackeylee0513 No that's the result of training his whole life to be able to be that quick and agile for his age. His health certainly is most impressive also. Most people die young and few make it to 80 even. Not everything is about fighting. People today would just blow your fucking brains out if you put hands up in the streets. It's not about adding inches to your dick to be the man, it's about surviving in this fucked up world and living life to the fullest. MMA is not just Muay Thai and Ju-jitsu. It's called MIXED martial arts for a reason and it's not limited to a human cock-fighting cage either. Plenty of MMA fighters cross-train in various kung-fu disciplines and exercise regimes and have benefited. No-one gives a fuck how hard your roundhouse kick hits the leg but many do when they see someone like this who's still got it at such an old age.
Excellent! Yes, this guy understands. Watch closely, most of us (unless we move,) will never have the opportunity to learn from someone like this directly in our lifetimes. For many of us, this is it! But it can be done.
As you get older it's not your power that leaves you, it's your speed and reflexes. However this master is a very rare example of someone who has managed to retain it and still give the other man a run for his money at 3:43. I hope he's still alive but this looks older than the date it was posted though... what an inspiration to many who train on what you strive for. Respect to him and god speed.
Una joya del kung fu....maestro autentico..solo encontraras en lugares humildes de china....no en esos tontos ginmacios moderlos y lujosos de engreidos
This elderly gentleman signifies one MAJOR thing that makes me prefer traditional martial arts over MMA. Look at how well he moves at his age. Yes, maybe MMA can beat TMA, but I really don't want to be all beat up and sore when I'm old. I want to be like this guy if I reach his age.
blockmasterscott I dunno man, I know Thai boxers and old BJJ guys who can still move better than I can. Style is bullshit, just train hard and don't get beat up.
Van Damme oh I agree with you 100%. I’m just saying that when you get into full contact for a length of time you’re gonna feel it when you get older. You’re spot on about training harder and not get hit. Sorry if I wasn’t clear.
At 0:50 the benefits of the "Re-adjustments" and "Re-alignments" to the distance and positioning between himself and his opponent, this old man, using his "Chin" or "Jaw" to make the adjustments to the distancing?)? Maybe some old-school method of using the opponents extended fist by placing his fist within reaching distance of your chin and the sides of the jaw, thus ensuring the correct distance to "deflect the incoming hand with very little body movement, then shoots out a very direct straight left punch that looks QUICKER and STRONGER than what he was throwing BEFORE his RE-ADJUSTMENTS and RE-ALIGNMENTS. Maybe its a method of making the adjust taught to him by his master, or maybe he learned how to do those things on his own. I don't know what he is saying. I would love to see this translated to English. My analysis is solely based on what I'm seeing. In any event, this old man, is absolutetLY FANTASTIC! I couldn't say enough good things about him. I would love to be his Praying Mantis student. I got MUCH RESPECT for this old man, and the bloke blessed by God to be on the other side of this old man... I'll be back to review these gentlemen's "Hands" again...
You see a lot of footage of older practioners thinking they are something. This is the real deal. If you love traditional Mantis, this is your man. Still quick at his advanced age, still a master of center of gravity awareness. We should all hope to be that able at that age. It's not just a martial art, it's a mastery beyond fighting. The mashing and bashing of MMA is impressive. But it is utilitarian. This is art.
The old Mantis Master's lesson begins at 0:30. He is displaying how he makes his "Adjustments " to his body and distancing relative to the opponent. Then, you see his opponents incoming hand deflect more efficiently, and now the right-hand blocking is more efficient. "Hand-Chasing" is the word I "hear" to identify the action of the old man's right hand following the opponents left "Incoming" hand deflecting it, then shooting out a straight right. Oh, and before the "Adjustments" and "Alignments", this old man, lands a solid right straight into his opponents chest.
I studied basic kung fu for 2 years in my early twenties. I didn’t get it til the last 6 months when I started sparing. The repetitive motions I thought were boring and tiring became automatic and i had a glimpse of what it’s like to be a competent fighter. This man legit muscle memory especially for someone older than 65!
A Real kung fu Shifu who knows his craft. A Rare one indeed. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us shifu. God give you long prosperous life and peace. Love and Respect from India 🙏❤💪
Beginning at 2:16, this old man goes on to demonstrate absolutely the BEST variation of the left "Sticky Elbow" into the left "Propping Elbow" I've ever seen! And I've seen my share of "Sticky" and "Propping" elbows. This is STILL and absolutely MASTERFUL Performance...
I've been fortunate to study Southern Praying Mantis for over 20 years from a third generation master of Ip Shui, and it was taught traditionally. This is why our classes remained very small and many students gave up because the training was too hard. This Kung Fu system is brutal in fights when you fully attain the higher power levels, coupled with speed. It's a very aggressive martial art that preys on the opponents lack of a strong bridge. A proper Mantis fighter will close the gap, invading your personal space and launch flurries of attacks, which are extremely difficult to block or evade. Even boxers become disoriented because they need to keep their opponent at a certain range in order to launch their punches. I've tested my style against many of my friends who've extensively trained in boxing, muay thai, wing chun, shaolin long fist, and so on. When a proficient southern praying Mantis fighter closes the distance, it removes these fighters' arsenal of tools and makes them feel very vulnerable.
seinundzeiten, yes, it's a pleasure to witness a true master of any martial arts style effortlessly controlling others. This master is exactly how i picture the kung fu masters of old China.
This is what many have been trying to explain to the MMA world. Don't be too quick to throw away traditional martial arts this is just one of many examples.
The reason he is rag dolling the students is because they cannot see his next move. They are truly ignorant of his next advance. The man can hurt you. He can reverse a joint or place you in a position where you will hurt yourself if you resist. This creates fear. So to be safe they go limp and “accept” what he will do next... It’s not that they are allowing him to knock them down. They are “accepting” his force in order to protect themselves. They do not “Know” what he will do after each move. So it’s only safe to go limp like that and fall or sway as he imposes in them in order to be safe. If they actually exert themselves or resist him, he could capitalize and easily dislocate or break bones because they literally have no idea what he is going to do next. Try and understand this. He knows the form, he has all the answers for THEIR advances...they are trying to LEARN his advances... The only way to be safe is to give in to him.
You can see where Wing Chun took certain parts of other styles to be more efficient. Bruce Lee did what old Wing Chun Masters did...Improve the system through time. Like Bruce Lee..."This became the Gospel" Just like the Gracies have to learn kickboxing and and boxing to be competitive in today's MMA. When the top grapplers lose, it's to people who can defend the takedown and box them silly. Great that this man is healthy.
4:07 Ha - ha! This guy is scared right now that the old man has lost it and coming to get him. Preparing himself to be the ...."example"....Hoping it won't hurt a lot
3:47 this is how to execute the movement wrong.4:17 gives up the fight and leaves. To use these soft style spinning blocks without speed and power requires circular movement of the torso or the whole body. This painful but respect for the effort. It is amazing at this age.
This is a valuable treasure for mantis style and martial art. Hope this old grand master is still healthy and well.
MUCH RESPECT! Real Mantis Master sharing his wisdom! Thanks for posting this video!
Simplicity and power, he looks hard of hearing and even short sighted but his technic, skill and style is amazing.
Ce vieux grand père est très fort. C’est un très grand Maître !
These are the masters hidden away in China who are the gems of martial arts I wish I could spar and learn from this master. 😊
Remember, this old man is more than 90 years old! still fast and strong! plz respect!
My thoughts exactly!
is 45
Bruce Lee so what? He spends all his life doing something useless
Bruce Lee no.

A real master from real kung fu👊👏👏👏👏👏
Toda la experiencia y sabiduría en este venerable anciano mi más profundo respeto, saludos Maestro.

Good to see some old mantis like this.. no magic. Just years of practice alignment and power.. direct... tendon power
Просто потрясающе! Какая точная и тонкая работа! Большое мастерство!
Thanks for posting video of this master doing his thing! Much appreciated! Much respect!
That's traditional old school martial arts. The way he trained back then clearly shows his discipline in comparison to what they do today.

I'm Fallin in love with this all over again. This old man is one for "The Books". I will always Respect and Never Forget this old Man...

blockmasterscott true
MMA "wins" under certain rule sets. On the street, it's the man/woman and not so much the system.
A lesson to us all. Great respect to you sir, you are an inspiration to us. God bless you.

yes, this master has serious kung fu skills. His mantis fist is quite good...not many real masters like this left...
seinundzeiten this sifu is really fast!!!!

Just imagine his skills when he was 30.
its obvious the old man has skill, the reaction speed is impressive for age.
Jedi master.
A master at work. Awesome

You do realize that in this video it’s Northern Praying Mantis, right? There’s no relationship between this and Southern Praying Mantis.
Honestly he looks great for 43 years old. Good work.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Holy cow! Now that's Kung-Fu!
This is what real wing chun look like as well, not many wc masters can ever attain this level of fluidity

i was gonna say. it's like sweet mantis chi sau. bagua can be like this too.
Moy Tung... real Ving Tsun Grand Master!!
This video is priceless. I know what real kungfu looks like and that is real kungfu! Respect!!!!
Seinundzeiten: I was thinking the same thing. Amazing!
This is mantis not Wing Chun
Old dude is ace!
I like what he said in the minute 3:02 , totally agree with him
I like this old mantis
that will be me if I make it to around his age after wasting my hearing for years on very loud music. awesome video.
Excellent video thank you so much for sharing it with us
Jet Li : “chiaahh!! Haiii...! (Doing the praying manthis stands)
Jacky Chan: “huh! Praying manthis..? That’s good.... FOR CATCHING BUGS..!”
Lol!!
No strength, pure skills. 👍

Old guy is strong as shit!
UN REAL MAESTRO , UN HONOR VER ESTE VIDEO , MUCHAS GRACIAS,
Hello... Beautiful art!
Much respect for his knowledge.
Know someone what is his name?
I
His name is the first thing in the video…
Learn as much as you can, to preserve the art. Knowledge is so easy to loose.
These REAL MASTERS are few and far between. If I was younger I would seek one out and spend my life learning
Me encantaría haber sido entrenado por ese gran maestro da gusto verlo
That old man be scary.
The way of use his two hands looks like a viable way to use two daggers.
never seen this master before. he is very good
This guy is amazing!
Wow! Beautifull and simple at the same time! What is his name?
MMA is great and effective..but we have to remember that classical styles and forms are it's parents. Remember, respect, be humble and be thankful.
This is what many have been trying to explain to the MMA world. Don't be too quick to throw away traditional martial arts this is just one of many examples.
Who say Kung Fu is fake ? This ain't no joke
A Ásia é um lugar muito antigo, milenar, tem muita sabedoria que ainda não é do conhecimento do ocidente
تحياتي واحترامي لك من الجزائر يشيخ
The reason he is rag dolling the students is because they cannot see his next move.

Resisting apponents have been brought down to the same.
It’s true, same with my teacher. More tension = more pain
No it's because they cooperate. None of this works unless someone let's you do it to them
If this dude is still this with it at his age imagine him 40 years ago
Master could of easily pucked out your eye when he deflected a blow slapping the guy on the forehead.
Maybe The master need portable nebulizer before he passed out.
Quick swift reflexes become the Master's second nature
Меня так дед, когда набухается, драться учит. И разговаривает примерно также.
Qué hábil y guapo el anciano!
The second guy, looks scared 😳
No disrepect because the Maste isr pretty cool and skillfull but the image of Herbert from family guy pops into my mind when he speaks, makes a sound.
Respect for master.
Does this line of Mantis still exist? Did he have any disciples?
Great
His reflexes are dynamic
Ótimo vídeo
Beautiful, thank you Shifu
Damn that hand movement at the end was really fast
