- I bought this Indian on 3-4-22 from OKC Indian. Great group of people. It was assembled the day of purchase. It’s an outstanding machine. It has the 111ci w 6 speed. It doesn’t have some features of the other bikes like TPS sensors, remote locking saddlebags, Navigation, the Indian head on front fender does not light up. It’s a fast fast bike in sport mode.

Nice bike. The difference in cost from the base model to the higher priced models isn't just the options like locking bags, tpms sensors, and GPS. Its also in the motor. You have the 111CI and the higher priced models have the 116CI. If you don't need or want those things.. the base model is a great option. I got a '22 Chieftain Dark Horse last summer. Its an Icon color. Love the bike so far. Anyway... congrats on the bike and ride safe.
Yes I left that out on the video after purchase. But at the end of the day I’m happy w my purchase, I’ve done a ton of changes to it since then w aftermarket parts and thanks for your feedback and ride safe.
Congratulations man on the purchase of your 2022 Indian chieftain. 🗨️😎👍
Nice bike! Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this 2022 Chieftain. Ride safe brother!
Thank you! Keep the sunny side up, brother!
There’s a company called “iron braid” makes these bad ass lever covers.
They really help on long rides and hot days!
They would look “ sick!” On your scooter!!
Great share bro!!!

Sweet bike. Do like the black. I just bout a 2018 Limited earlier this year. I liked the classic look. and getting the limited got all the add on stuff, locking bags, nav, and tps. The 111ci is good all I needed. The 116 would be nice with ride command. Congrats on bike keep the shinny side up. Oh the fender light. I heard the ones that it lights up sometimes water gets in it and wiring messes up. So they stopped lighting it and just a ornament. My model doesn`t come with one on it.
Who needs navigation , we ride to get lost.
Good timing too , they raised prices this week
Angela at OKC Indian said they were going up to $22500 when I bought mine. It’s a great machine!
@@okckingpingarage1589 Ive been toying around building Springfield Dark Horse and Chieftains on their website , getting close to pulling the trigger..
How tall are you if you don’t mind saying ?
@@edwardmorgan3851 5’10”ish lol
@@okckingpingarage1589 I’m 6’5” , I found the older seat style on 2018 chieftain seemed to give me more room , then again I probably got fatter ..
Appreciate your replies and wish you many many safe miles .
@@edwardmorgan3851 thank you sir, when u test ride, ride normal setting then sport mode it’s amazing
the 111 is a good motor, if you want to upgrade.... It does not void any warenty ,also if you change the cams it will be all you may need
I have a B&T 111 Springfield and did the stg2 cams today. With the ride modes the 111 stg2 will suprise folks.
Just gorgeous! This is probably the only bike gives me wet dream. I would definitely get a white one tho.
I really like the bike too!
I’m going to test ride one today
Advanblack makes a perfectly matched quick release King tour pack I got one on mine and love it! Got the same model. Indian tour pack over 5k, complete advanblack 1.5k
There are a lot of people doing that very thing.
I like the chieftain but I hate what Indian did with the headlights. The should've left the turn indicators on the fairing. Putting them on the forks looks like an after thought and seems lazy. I thought the bike looked better the other way.
I like this version better, it is a little more modern and not such a throw back.
Love that Thunderstroke engine.
That and the Sport Mode, this is one fast bike...
I bought one also love it I did do the stage 1 from the dealer sounds great
Stage one run ya about 2k?
@@okckingpingarage1589 got a deal 1500
@@fourchill heck of a deal
I like that gloss black choice esp. those Stain gloss valve covers (I just cant like or adjust to the Chromed or Gloss Black partly because the unfinished surface) Do you find alot of heat on the right leg? It looks it would be so close to the rear cylinder head
All good. See if you can get a bundle deal for the things you missed out on. I think they're definitely worth getting at some stage.
I have upgraded the intake and exhaust. I’m going to install KST 6” bars when it’s warmer. The only item I would want is the locking bags. No use for the navigation, heated seat or grips.
This standard model comes stock with the thunderstroke 111 which is a great motor but, all other models above this come stock with the thunderstroke 116. Basically if you upgraded the intake, the pipes and throw in a set of cams in the 116 you will have quite the beast. Either way they are amazing machines. I have a 2022 chieftain limited in quartz and absolutely love it. The wife has a 2019 dark horse chieftain which is an amazing bike but you can feel the difference between the motors.
THE 116 IS IN MOST OF MY BUDDIES BIKES AND MAN THEY CAN MOVE!!!
@@okckingpingarage1589 But still get walked by a bone stock Indian Challenger with its smaller PowerPlus 108ci engine.
That is true and you need a $12,000.00 plus budget more than I have. I bought a vette instead of getting a challenger.
@@okckingpingarage1589 Oh, I bought my 2020 Challenger base model used with a little over 5k miles for $21k this last June. What year Vette did you get into? They are nice cars!
Absolutely gorgeous great choice. 😁
Thank you!
I think you’re confusing some of the lighting stuff, like on the front and back, with an Indian Roadmaster. Beautiful chieftain though, I have a 2019 and regret not getting it in black like yours.
What am I confused about, again?
I have since found out the indian head does not light up on chieftain but I want to make sure I don't spread bad info...
I've got the exact same bike, I think. Same 22 Chieftain with lack of options. I got a good phone mount and a cup holder, F&R hwy/crash bars (amazon) and what did you do with the loop for the 1up spot? Lol. Beautiful bike just as it is... with more options in base model than I've had on any other bike!
My current bikes:
09 CBR250 (junk)
98 Thundercat (4 sale)
99 CBR600 (4 sale)
07 CBR600
02 VTX1800
22 Chieftain
Quite the fleet
I’m looking into an Indian Chieftain. I just can’t come across if i should purchase brand new or used? Don’t really want to spend the extra 5-6K for the limited or Dark Horse. Any recommendations?
Mine is the plain model. No frills other than radio, I don’t want navigation and I like the looks of the bike being almost all black. I’d choose new over used everytime but depends on budget. Good luck w ur quest
Damn, Indian messed up on those front turn signals. That's how harley does it even harley guys are jealous of the signals in the fairing. Looks way better and more modern.
I agree but it’s part of the no frills option I was after.
“Looks bad ass to me!”..
Thank you! I’ve liked adding what I want to it.
Has the bike been solid so far? Any issues?
It’s been a dream to own and ride
If the bags dont lock whats the key hole for..
Jeff, there are two buttons on the tank that are wired to bags that auto lock, but on the base model they just lock via a key. It’s not worth the cost to convert them to auto lock bags in my opinion.
Love it Black is Beautiful
1 year review?..
I just traded it in on a Challenger, but it was a fine machine, I had fun making it my own. Pros- great bike, lots of upgrades, great warranty. Cons-underpowered. I was sad to see it leave but at the end of the day, I bought my Challenger right so it’s nice to almost break even.
@@okckingpingarage1589 congrats!!! I’m envious…. Ok. Back to my primal Harley! 😡
How come it’s advertised with a gold Engine and gold tank badge
I have the black metallic but the one you speak of is an elite I believe.
