Under rated comment.
Good new content. Thank you!
But man... The camera work... Much to learn!
I thought the camera work was pretty exceptional sans a few angles. What did you not like?
For example. When the competitor are taking a break and observing the Boulder, a camera view from behind would be good. So you have him/he and the Boulder wall in focus.
With that you are observing the problem with the competitor together. The top view brings no benefit at all.
Second, you have some time a very near view of the portrait with a 105 lense or more. Total out of centent/context, maybe to catch a feeling on the faces, but nothing happens. Sure this is top tier and very hard to do live and even after in cut.
Just the top view 90° makes no sense for me in many cases here.
This is not a rant or flame. :)
@@Matthew_McRae For example on 34:55 it switches to an angle where I only see her upper body on a slab, which is arguably mostly about body positioning and footwork so now I have no idea how she got her feet on the very left hold, which is very infuriating because now I don't get to learn the beta. Zoom ins on the face to show the struggle are fine if they are done in a way which do not compromise the movement from hold to hold. In general I would say you never go wrong by showing the climber plus a couple of holds around them while they are climbing and use close ups or angle switches wisely.
I don't see big problems with the camera work here, what you describe has more to do with live editing I think :)
Yeah the best is 1 camera who don't move + timer projected on the wall. I can't analyse the climbing skill if they keep zooming on hand and ass. But maybe it's more entertaining for non climbers
NEW CONTENT
Yeah the camera close ups shouldnt be so frequent. Climbing audiences care for the beta, not the faces. We missed a lot of foot work on the womens 2 for example. But all in all great to see comps again :)
I like the faces and especially the boooty
poor camera work. too much zoomed in, no clear view on the route, nervous moving of camera, weird viewing angles, ping pong of camera's point of view.
I was just going to make a comment about that! Kinda disappointing.
On the second boulder the climber was called down for a false start but hadn't touched any other holds yet. She then touched all the start holds correctly but was still called down. When does it become a false start vs just getting into the start position?
Pretty sure the judge made a mistake
Small question: When it shows the Overall points, what do Tv and Zv mean?
tv = top attempts (top versuch)
zv = zone attempts (zones versuch)
Camera angles are whack. Can't see!
Not the best camera Direction/editing,missed a lot of important moves from the athletes because we are looking at a closeup of a foot?!
Pambuek jalur paniang
1:24:36 Sick Beta Break :)
Am i the only one thinking the social distancing, each having their own brush on a stick, is a joke? They are basically licking the same wall that someone just went up. Whats the point?
No need for understanding!
Just move as the string's are pulled 😅😂🤣😭
It is all about minimising the risk of spread. It sure seems silly, but at the end of the day the risk is a bit lower than using one brush for all.
How silly is to take their one brushes do to covid precautions, and then hanging on the same pieces on the wall?
worse camera move ever
