Ah yes, I'd love the climber's shoe to fill my entire screen while he's doing a huge epic exciting move to the next hold.
the toe hook was an important factor in the move tho its not all just about the grip of the next hold
The boulders were amazing and also hard. Refreshing to see a final actually being decided by tops and zones instead of everyone getting 3 or 4 tops like the last few finals. Every boulder was topped but nobody got all of them.
The last one wasn't toped was it?

I am becoming convinced that the ifsc is paying their camera people to create the worst shots possible

I was confused because the move before the zone looks like a downward dyno to me. Which are banned from world cup climbing. So if the dyno wasn´t the move, what was the "intended" beta?
@@MisterK9739 don't think there any other way to do it, I just think someone sat down with a lawyer to go through the rule book to get away with this.
And it IS well thought out, theres nowhere else to go other than the mat bo matter how badly you screw up, actually it'd be a superhuman feat to fly INTO the lower volumes
@@kim98677 If this was truly intended, it´s honestly terrible. There is a reason downward dynos are prohibited, they´re so bad on your shoulders and arm joints. Zero reason to set it this way IMO other than trying to stand out
@@MisterK9739 mate they're professional athletes. They're literally built for this type of movement.
@@kim98677 wdym "thy´re built for this". They are just people, they can still get hurt and in their case this might even results in their career ending.
Again, there is a reason these moves are banned.

Beginner question here: are those devices that inhibit the climber from hearing/understanding the audience so they cant get any help?

The competitors aren't supposed to get any outside help (e.g. from coaches) but I think that the audience might sometimes shout instructions that help even though they shouldn't really. Sometimes the cheering gives a hint that you're doing something right.

I guess you mean the "thing" in the right corner at 34:07 for example. I cant remember to have ever seen something like that before at a ifsc event. No idea what that is but i cant really think of a way how that would prevent them to hear the audience?
