I'm Francesco on the leaderboard, I actually created the MKWii category extension leaderboard and most of these categories when I was getting bored with normal MKWii speedruns back in high school. I always have fun seeing people compete in these goofy ass categories, thanks for shedding some light on them! Also to be honest I'm kinda dumbfounded that I never thought to put "behind the pipe" in the rules for raceway respawn% lmao
11:18 I know this video is super old, so I'm sorry if my comment seems petty or if you already got the answer I'm sorry too, but in mario kart it warns everyone who is in front of the person who threw the blue shell that it's coming bc it acts like a green shell if it runs into you on it's way to the 1st place person. I think it's more common in MK8, but I think it's an interesting feature either way.

Bro just casually beat my funky kong spear time on yoshi falls that I spent a good week or two grinding for (1:02.497 btw) with bowser on flame runner ok man
i'd say it's better to learn how to play with twist controls then do one-handed with just the wii remote hold with left hand, thumb on accelerate, little finger presses B to use items
Thank you! I used Quacker because Grumble Volcano glitch is actually one of the few categories where it's the fastest, so using it would save time over using Mach Bike.
watching the slow descent into madness with the third category when running Wario's Gold Mine first was absolute gold, speedrunning in a nutshell xdd also I did NOT think that watching MK64 on GDQ would lead down the rabbit hole of watching this man for two days but here I am lol, it's cool to see some speedrunning content :DD
This is not the only game with random speed runs category I know MK8DX has one but u have to gain certain amount of VR without getting Disconnect or else u have to rest the run or giving up basic.
mach bike for old gv glitch would have been so much easier and faster, quacker is only usable on new gv glitch where you wheelie bounce off of the pole
The Mach Bike has very low handling and acceleration, which are the two most important stats for GV glitch. Even after losing a second or two aligning for the trick onto the rock, the Quacker is a much better choice for it because of how much time is saved on the rock itself.
@@beanzard64 eh makes sense, i think im just biased having never made old gv with quacker and have almost always made it with mach bike. acceleration doesnt matter if you get the landing boost though, because you can jump or drift trick to make it onto the rock consistently

If I did the gv glitch I would use my galaxy brain and choose magikruiser
For one hand you could just use the Wii remote because you can use 2 to drive and 1 to drift and you turn with motion controls
A friend and I did a 2 player run on the category extension leaderboard and we’re ranked 6 out of 10 haha

Usually, when you go up that slope, you fly off of it as you would a hill. It's faster to stick to it, though it's uncommon.
