if i went to a yard, and saw someone trying to load a ka into an integra, i definitely would offer to help free of charge, but at the same time this is hysterical. so glad you pulled it and brought it home!

not really a junkyard story but my buddy drove his s13 down from alberta canada to oregon and blew up 3rd on the way to the track. there was a guy with a shop on the track who sold us a ka trans, then the dudes from y plate imports were hosting an event and let us swap our trans in their trailer. people kept coming by and talking and hanging out with us and it made me gain a much bigger respect for everyone in the drift scene especially

God i love those Vids in the junkyard
Its sad to see cars in that state but at the same time those parts are going to get used for other builds so its cool ig.
Im kinda jealous coz in my country there isn't a lot of junkyards i could go to that just let you get the parts from cars freely.
Dont stop making this epic content man ❤️

I just have to say that I love seeing channels like you taking these parts from junked cars and giving them new life. not only is it a good example for others but it will also cut down on wasted parts and just shows a great sustainable alternative to just buying new parts or having customs made for things like interior. me and my dad fixed up an old MG MGB GT(cute little sports car) and for all of the damage we either fixed it all ourselfs or went to a junkyard for parts. ended up getting new left fender, door, all lights, decals, interior, radiator, and a few other things :)

Such a win to get all those parts. goldmine indeed. as for your query, craziest transpo was a smallblock chevy in the back of a 2000 hatch ek, defintely sluggish but the stock suspension handled it pretty well. ive never heard of a ka in a z, not sure if thats what youre doing, but if it is im sure it will be right at home there. definitely a better choice than the stock motor that came out of it. keep it up. these videos help more than you may realize!

Just found your YT and sub - got a junk yard story - my mother told me when I was a wee little kid (about 4 yrs old) every time we drove some where I would always be in the back seat looking out the side door window, and if I saw a junk yard coming up, I would actually scream pull over - junkyard so she would and I would open up the door run up to a junker that was sitting out in front, and start kicking the tires and feeling the side of the car. To this day, I still go crazy over junk yards. That's my story, and glad I found you on UA-cam. Oh, we restored a 1967 Volkswagen Fastback, and just sold our restored 1965 Volkswagen Carmen Ghia - she was and is a beauty, everyone in the neighborhood thought she was a Porsche. She was cream white, with black interior.

  • @Papajin68
    @Papajin68 2 роки тому +1

I pulled the EGR on mine with the motor in and it was a royal pain. The worst part was the connection to the exhaust manifold... it just didn't want to come loose no matter how much heat was applied, etc. Then after hours and hours of messing with it across multiple days with no luck, I went outside to try again, and it just came loose... go figure. Anyway, I feel your pain! Speaking of pain, I just pulled the brake booster out my S13 and getting that stupid clevis pin out was truly painful... I still have my seats in, and I don't have room to open the driver door really far so ended up on my back with my head and arms in the footwell and my back half on the seat with it as far back as it would go doing some sort of yoga thing... and it was STILL nearly impossible to get loose... I ended up breaking the white plastic retaining clip thing with the tabs on it trying to get the pin out... That was NOT a fun time. I'm still feeling it 24 hours later... course I'm old compared to all you whipper-snappers...
I'm kinda surprised you haven't welded on a "bed extension" to the back of the work truck yet! I think it's time for air shocks in the back too since this is a work truck... then you can handle any load without an issue!
How long were you at that place, anyway? At the start of the engine pull part, you said it had been open for 30 minutes, and by the end it was dark... I realize the days are short right now but still...

  • @ZachariahMccully

I hauled home 3 5.3 truck motors from the junkyard in the bed of a friend's Nissan hardbody once. I love those gatries with the spare tires, we have those at the pick n pull I use but the lot isn't paved so I feel your pain pushing that thing all the way across the lot. My yard charges a deposit on them and you don't get it back unless you bring it back or bring back someone else who's putting down their own down payment and commiting to return it, good system, the yard is on a hill and the temptation to leave the gantry behind when your done is real but the $20 is worth it to most people.

One of my dad’s friends own a junkyard and they are doing business together for like construction and stuff so I found an interesting engine ,the OM606 so called the diesel 2jz😃 I saw it two years before I have the chance to own it and at that time it was in a beautiful condition, however two years passed an someone did take the bolts for the intake manifold and leave the engine open to water… Eventually I did get the engine for free but I almost rebuild it 😃the good thing is now it’s working and it’s in a bmw 😃soon will become “super turbo” and will make a lot of power.
That’s my most interesting find for more than cheap 😁

And I know what it's like, having to push and manuever that engine hoist around. It is a PITA. But once you get it where you need to go, it is so easy to use.
The only thing at that point is, getting a motor you pull into your cart and pulling that up to pay for it, which can be a bear.

Talking about junkyard stories. My TAFE teacher once told me that he went to a junkyard and there was a man working on a car and he had both legs underneath the car while he was pulling something off. The car fell off the stands crushing both his legs.
Someone got a forklift and got the car off of him which then lead him to bleed to death.
When the ambulance arrive they said that they shouldn't of lifted the car yet before they showed up because they could of tried to stop of the bleeding.
So the message is do not have your legs underneath cars while there on stands. (Well try not to anyways)
