The greatest band of all time. No question. Genius. The wrote the soundtrack to my life as a teenager growing up in the '60's and are still guiding my life's principles.
I think there are a total of 218 songs in the Beatles' complete catalogue, and they are all worth listening to IMO. Such a diverse range of songs and genres.
The story behind this as told by Paul McCartney: he was asleep in bed one night during a hard time in his life. He awoke in the early hours to see his deceased Mother, Mary, standing at the foot of his bed, and she said to him very simply, 'Let It Be'. He wrote the song the following day.
The Mary of the song was Paul's mother who died of cancer when Paul was a kid. John's mother passed when he was a teen and he wrote the song "Julia" for her.
My two favorite bands are the Beatles and Pink Floyd. I was dating this girl for about 2 months and was really falling hard for her when this song came on the radio and she said she hated the Beatles and this song I broke up with her then and there, I knew I couldn't be with her I just thought she must have a dark soul if she didn't like this song and the Beatles
Great tune, this tune got me trough a lot of hard times, Thanks guys for the review. Also thanks to Paul, John George and of course Ringo, one of the most underrated drummers IMHO, he set the rhythm of the tunes.
In the 80s as a kid, I was talking to my dad about rock & roll bands. He said, “there are a lot of great and really good bands, but the Beatles are something special.”
I have to thank you for giving The Beatles the positive credit they are so enormously due. I was born in 1952 so The Beatles and I grew up together. Imagine waking up to a new #1 Beatle song every other month or so. It was a magical time called “Beatlemania” that will live on forever, and I am so proud to have been a part of the ‘mania’. There will never be another band like The Beatles. RIP: John Lennon and George Harrison.
The one, the only BEATLES. I love all the music from that era, but the Beatles started a revolution. The 60’s would not have been the same with out them. 😎👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
The Beatles had many influences. Living in Liverpool they heard a lot of American music. I agree they were magic but better on record than live. I have several books about them and everyone says the same thing. Do the research on it. Les Paul changed music and Leo Fender.
I was so lucky to have seen the Beatles perform live in 1964 at Olympia Stadium in Detroit. And again seeing John Lennon in Ann Arbor in 1971. In my 70's I suppose I am a relic of my time having attended Woodstock in 1969 and as a young adult growing up with so many old school singers and musicians that will never come again. So nice to see young folks appreciate a time in history that as far as I am concerned was the best.
Paul’s mother died of breast cancer the day I was born. His wife Linda was treated at Sloan-Kettering hospital in NYC in a final attempt to save her life. She died of breast cancer in the late 90s. My only sister, Lynda, was also at Sloan. She lost her battle with breast cancer almost 20 years ago on 12/31/2000. We were Beatles fans from the first time we saw them on tv in February of ‘64; and our mother took us to our first concert, The Beatles, in August of ‘66. This song, more than any other, reminds me of Paul’s losses and my own, and everyone else who’ve lost loved ones. Beautiful and bittersweet. Thank you for reacting to it.
Excellent Song!!! Will always be my favorite!!! The Beatles are AMAZING!!!! So, They were the sound of the day....They raised the Standards of music!!!!
Hey Jude 👍🤪✔ From memory I believe there are over 300 beatles songs & I can't think of one of them that is in any way obscure, or little known. You give them much respect, and it is only right that you do so. They were such an uplifting backdrop to our lives. When I was 4 my sister was 13 and would bring home their latest hit and in no time their was a mad scene of sunbathing teenagers listening to her portable record-player which only played the single 45rpm vinyls. Six or so years later we had a drive-in theatre as the reception for her wedding & the movie "Help" was playing on a loop. What music does to people, for people, as I observed as the youngest was simply magical. When John Lennon was killed I first knew grief and these songs consoled me but then my incredible brother passed away so closely after and my memories were of him consoling me over Lennon's passing. It felt as though my brother was preparing for me to be okay with what was to come. Such highs and lows right there. A mere month before his accident my brother bought me a music book of ALL the Beatles songs (300+?) and we both sat on the edge of his bed as I strummed the chords & we recorded us both singing over half of them. Such a treasured memory - the Beatles were there for births and deaths, happy and sad & for the inbetween they brought so much excitement. ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE! And perhaps a yellow submarine, lol thank you for that ( I'm not sure your brother quite heard what you were saying - that you are grateful for HIM! Sometimes you just have to spell it out, cos u never know. You can lead a horse to headphones but you can't make it listen, lol Just for you two "Two Of Us" ❤❤
Yes you so right... one cannot compare the Beatles to any other bands in the world !!! They hail from another Universe !!! Their music will never die "Across the Universe".
The Beatles are from a completely different universe. They suddenly appeared from nowhere with hundreds of incredible songs. Super humans from another reality.
Actually they emerged from ten hour sessions in Hamburg. It's why they were so polished and confident once they became famous. But two teens who happened to be musical geniuses getting together in Liverpool and eventually changing societal norms and music really is miraculous.
This is such a beautiful Beatles song that came out during the Vietnam war. I remember one radio station played it every night at 9 pm. It offered comfort during such a chaotic time. Thanks so much guys for reacting to this legendary tune. Love to you both🧡🦋
I loved your reaction, so glad I came across you guys. The Beatles are not just a band, but a musical revolution and their style, British banter and ever evolving , changing, growing music was not only the backtrack to my life ( I was 15 when they " invaded" the states) but was interwoven into the fabric of my generation.
I'm 55 now, I remember my parents playing this, "Hey Jude" and so much more. The Beatles are an integral part of me. So many of their songs seem almost like natural phenomenons (phenomena?) - naturally 'there' to be discovered. They discovered so much!
There's a reason Paul McCartney is in the Guinness Book of World Records! And to think that when The Beatles first started, neither he nor John Lennon played piano in any of their songs. They both became very accomplished in it. So The Beatles won an Oscar for this song and it was The Beatles final record release b4 their breakup! I was 20 back in 1970 when LET IT BE was released! I remember buying the single GET BACK (off of that album) w/DON'T LET ME DOWN on the B side. At the time, had no idea that'd be the last single I'd ever buy from the group. It was a sad & shocking day when we found out The Beatles were no more! To this day, I still listen to the music of that era, from all the artists that made the '60's so memorable! Good job on ur reaction!
We had a lot of albums at my house when I was a child. The Beatles were among those, I’m very lucky to have had music like this as a youngster. Music is a universal language 🎼🎶🎹🎸🎤❤️🔥😎
Saw The Beatles in concert in 1964 at the Southend Odeon in UK. The screams from the (mainly female) audience that night was so loud that it was difficult to hear them, and I was in the front row! Supporting act was The Barron Knights. You have to remember that this was at the beginning of Beatlemania. They proved themselves to be a great and immortal band.
Timeless classic!. This is the lp version. The single version has a different less prominent guitar parts, but cut from the same master, and then there is yet another version from the Let It Be Naked album. All are great!
When Love Me Do crashed into our lives in 63,EVERYTHING changed. Like going from a grey world and exploding into colourful light. I was 9yrs old in that year, and the 60's had finally begun. I used to take pride that they are English, but realised that they belong to the world, and touched all our lives. I cant begin to describe the fun we had back then. Much missed days.
We always waited for the next Beatles single EP album . If you could get hold of them. Think of the people in Russia. The Beatles banned from the radios marked as devils. But somehow Russian people smuggled the Beatles music into Russia. To the Russian it was hope of a new dawn. To us music to them hope of a better life
And when the night is cloudy there is still a light that shines on me Shinin' until tomorrow, let it be I wake up to the sound of music, Mother Mary comes to me Speaking words of wisdom, let it be - the best verse of the song.
@Bryn Webster Top selling musicians of all time. 20 number 1 songs in 7 years (Stones have 8 in 58 years). Most influencial band according to most all lists. Greatest album of all time according to most lists. Made it okay for men to wear hair below the ear. Broke up before any of them reached 30 years old. You just have no clue.
Very perceptive comments. For many of us who love music and so many bands and musicians, The Beatles will always be in their own category. What they created in six years will never be matched. And as young people who were there when they exploded on the scene, we could not have foreseen where they would get to, but somehow we knew they weren’t of this world and were so far ahead of everyone else.
A good one to react to would be "Don't Let Me Down" by the Beatles - the video from the rooftop; their last live performance together. It features the great Billy Preston (one of the guys referred to as the 5th Beatle) on keyboards.
There had been many hard rock songs before Helter Skelter. Helter Skelter just kind of opened the door to Heavy Metal. You have to do the studio 2009 version though.
@@debjorgo Metal was around before Helter Skelter. Are You Experienced - 1967, Journey to the Center of Your Mind (single) - 1968, Fresh Cream - 1966, Disraeli Gears - 1967. Just Dropped In - 1967. that just scratches the surface.
@@mrsmith4787 I'd consider what you are citing there as just Hard Rock and Psychedelic Rock. The closest would be Hendrix but he always seemed a little too slow to me to be Heavy Metal. But whatever.
Alfredo, I always consider The Kinks- You Really Got Me to be the first hard rock song. The song came out the same year the Beatles made it to the states.
The "Let it Be" philosophy you speak of here has gotten me through some tough times; especially the ones we're not living in - Thank you for sharing your thoughts from favorite band for about 45 years now.
Best regards from Buenos Aires Argentina looking for reactions to the songs of THE BEATLES I found your channel and I really liked the reaction, attitude and respect they showed What can be said about THE BEATLES to explain its greatness? February 1964 BEATLES performs on Ed Sullivan show record audience of 75 million viewers April 1964 Top 5 singles is All of THE BEATLES and packed concerts in stadiums in 1965/66 that in U.S. in U.K. they were already successful in 1963 with all their albums and singles at # 1 until 1969 "She loves you" (1963) the best-selling song of the decade "Hey Jude" the longest single # 1 "Hey Jude / Revolution" is the first single of Apple Récords "Let it be" as "Hey Jude" too are an anthem that for 50 years Paul McCartney continues to perform in his concerts, achieving the greatest emotion in the audiences (I am a witness to having seen and heard him in the stadium on his last visit to Argentina in March 2019 )
If you know the entire Beatles discography, you know that "Let it be" may be in the TOP 40 somewhere. Of course, it is also a question of personal taste.
Great second Beatles selection. From an Old Beatle Freak, may I suggest; Early Beatles, "When I Get Home", "No Reply", "You've Got To Hide Your Love Away" & "Ticket To Ride. Mid-Beatles; "Norwegian Wood", "Nowhere Man", "Taxman" & "Rain". Late Beatles; "Everybody's Got Something To Hide Except For Me and My Monkey", "Yer Blues", "Come Together", "Revolution 1", "I Want You", "Dig A Pony" & "Get Back". Enjoy your search.
fella on the left in the blue Michigan hoodie-you have a great voice!!! love hearing you imitate what you’re listening to. just started watching y’all’s videos tonight, so I don’t know a lot about you. hope Mr Michigan is doing something musical with his life!
There are so very many incredible songs written by The Beatles. I can't think of one I dislike. One of the most talented and unique bands EVER💜❤ I was born in 1957. I had 3 olders siblings and 1 younger. The older ones were 5, 8 and 9 years older. One loved The Rolling Stones, one The Beatles and my brother, RIP, surf music. My mom listened to soundtracks from plays and my dad, big bands and Frank Sinatra. My love for music started when I was 5. I remember when the Beatles broke up, it was devastating.
This is one of many great songs. Ny personal favorite is one I have never heard anyone react to and I think is their best song, That song is Here There and Everywhere. My 2nd favorite I have also not heard a reaction to and that is This Boy. Listen to them and all I will say in advance is :You are welcome".
The song is classic that ever made in the studio. Very touching, deep n emotional like someone who lost a love one in plane crash, covid n all kinds of accident
I don't know how old the boys are ... but I'm surprised they didn't know this song since they were children ... But hey, better late than never ... The Beatles are eternal and their music should be taught in schools ... This is an unrivaled hymn.
I've heard this song perhaps…several thousand times since my childhood. I think no other song title has more profound meaning than this song. Many people say "Let It Be" means "Leave it to the flow", but it is wrong, because Paul wrote this song in 1968, when The Beatles were in danger of breakup. He wanted to say "Let's not break up. Let this band BE". He also sang this song in "LIVE AID" in 1985, because he wanted to LET IT (children in Africa) BE. Truly, Mother Mary whispered words of wisdom to her son.
its very very rare to see that people have this beatles song as their favourite, so that means they have so many good songs. I would recommend one of my beatles songs, Something
greetings from Argentina again (if my English is weak it is because I use Google Translate) I have seen that you have reaction of several artist And you just added The Beatles all of this is an excellent example of your musical openness That's why I want to propose that you include the Swedish pop group ABBA, a true icon and world leader of the 70s, in the post-Beatles decade ABBA was formed by two couples and they recorded between 1972/82: Anni Frid Lyngstad (mezzo soprano vocalist, 1945) Benny Andersson (keyboardist singer-songwriter, 1946) Björn Ulvaeus (guitarist singer-songwriter, 1945) Agnetha Fälkstog (soprano vocalist, 1950) (the couples divorced in 1979 and 1981 and the group could not continue together but recently they reunited in the studio and after more than 35 years they recorded about five songs that will be released post pandemic to celebrate 50 years of their first single: "People need love") In their career they have an extensive series of world hits, they led rankings in Europe Australia New Zeland South Africa and Latin America (Only in the U.S. they were less successful, because they did not settle there as the North American market requested, although they did make presentations on TV and a tour in 1979) They especially led in England of so many and such good groups and English singers, with nine # 1 singles and albums and a series of 18 consecutive Top 10 singles (only surpassed by THE BEATLES) ABBA currently has their album GOLD (compilation of singles released 10 years after their separation) is the second best-selling in history (only surpassed by QUEEN Greatest Hits) and the current longest on the charts with 970 weeks (and continues to add ...) Extraordinary marks for a non-British, non-American music band The validity of his music was maintained and perpetuated through generations by the success of some Australian films with his songs, the musical "Mamma mia" produced by composers Björn and Benny (20 years on the bill) and the films "Mamma mia" 1 and 2 (and a third soon) with Meryl Streep and Pierce Brosnann as protagonists singing their songs they have a thematic museum in Stockholm 6 years ago, tribute bands etc. (the list is extensive to try to mark the influence of ABBA's music)
I grew up in a strict house hold, we barely listened to music, I got married in 1979, my husband had all of the Beatles albums, I listened to them all over and over until I knew every word to every song. I must say "Maxwell's Silver Hammer" made me laugh so hard. I know it's kind of dark, but I'd never heard anything like it, I would like to see you guys react to it.
Twas in Liverpool, one fine day, That the Fab Four began to play, And soon the news got around to all the towns, That here was the sounds to beat all sounds.
Please react to A Day In The Life by The Beatles which is their masterpiece and one of the greatest song of the history ever recorded trust me it will blown your mind and you will love it watch the video too enjoy it.
Another song that came from one of Paul’s dreams. It was during the time of the break up or talk of the break up. And a lot of turmoil in the Beatles. He dreamt about his mother telling him to let it be

@@matthewdrake4385 You Really Got Me gets credit for being early punk rock too.
Got to see the Beatles in Philadelphia, August 1966.
I saw them at Shea Aug 66
The "Let it Be" philosophy you speak of here has gotten me through some tough times; especially the ones we're not living in - Thank you for sharing your thoughts from favorite band for about 45 years now.
The Long & Winding Road next please
Yes, I think they'd love it such an epic sound.
Amazing reaction bros! Natural, well doned and of the greatest song of Paul as Beatle. Please more of The Beatles, please react to A Day In The Life❤️
"Strawberry Fields", "Eleanor Rigby", "Helter Skelter," "While my Guitar Gently Weeps",
My favorite by them is IN MY LIFE
Also the version of In My Life narrated by Sean Connery.
Best regards from

looking for reactions to the songs of THE BEATLES I found your channel
and I really liked the reaction, attitude and respect they showed
What can be said about THE BEATLES to explain its greatness?

Top 5 singles is All of THE BEATLES

in U.K. they were already successful in 1963 with all their albums and singles at # 1 until 1969
"She loves you" (1963)
the best-selling song of the decade
"Hey Jude" the longest single # 1
"Hey Jude / Revolution"
is the first single of Apple Récords
"Let it be" as "Hey Jude" too
are an anthem that for 50 years Paul McCartney continues to perform in his concerts, achieving the greatest emotion in the audiences
(I am a witness to having seen and heard him in the stadium on his last visit to Argentina in March 2019 )
I saw him twice in Winnipeg Canada!
If you know the entire Beatles discography, you know that "Let it be" may be in the TOP 40 somewhere. Of course, it is also a question of personal taste.
There's a great version of this song in the movie ' across the universe ' amazing film as well
One of me mum's favourite tunes. I get teary eye when I hear this song since her passing.
Goodness, the utter genius of bands that came out of Britain in the 60’s& 70’s
Those of us who were blessed to be teenagers at this time ❤🙏
Great second Beatles selection.
Beatles were another univers. And still they are.
fella on the left in the blue Michigan hoodie-you have a great voice!!! love hearing you imitate what you’re listening to. just started watching y’all’s videos tonight, so I don’t know a lot about you. hope Mr Michigan is doing something musical with his life!
I am so impressed that you know so much about the background of this song. I salute you!
The Beatles started it all IMO, they're my absolute favorite band. This is but ONE of a hundred amazing songs.
This is one of many great songs. Ny personal favorite is one I have never heard anyone react to and I think is their best song,
That song is Here There and Everywhere. My 2nd favorite I have also not heard a reaction to and that is This Boy. Listen to them and all I will say in advance is :You are welcome".
Yeahhh , George nailed it ... Paul sing it ... all together are just THE Beatles
The Beatles are indeed on another level. More than any other rock n roll band, they showed what music can be.
"Guys, this song will never die. I'm just saying."
Well, it IS a Beatles song.
;)
its very very rare to see that people have this beatles song as their favourite, so that means they have so many good songs. I would recommend one of my beatles songs, Something
greetings from Argentina again
(if my English is weak it is because I use Google Translate)
I have seen that you have reaction of several artist And you just added The Beatles
all of this is an excellent example of your musical openness
That's why I want to propose that you include the Swedish pop group ABBA, a true icon and world leader of the 70s, in the post-Beatles decade
ABBA was formed by two couples and they recorded between 1972/82:
Anni Frid Lyngstad
(mezzo soprano vocalist, 1945)
Benny Andersson
(keyboardist singer-songwriter, 1946)
Björn Ulvaeus
(guitarist singer-songwriter, 1945)
Agnetha Fälkstog
(soprano vocalist, 1950)
(the couples divorced in 1979 and 1981 and the group could not continue together
but recently they reunited in the studio and after more than 35 years they recorded about five songs that will be released post pandemic to celebrate 50 years of their first single: "People need love")
In their career they have an extensive series of world hits, they led rankings in Europe Australia New Zeland South Africa and Latin America
(Only in the U.S. they were less successful, because they did not settle there as the North American market requested, although they did make presentations on TV and a tour in 1979)
They especially led in England of so many and such good groups and English singers, with nine # 1 singles and albums and a series of 18 consecutive Top 10 singles (only surpassed by THE BEATLES)
ABBA currently has their album GOLD (compilation of singles released 10 years after their separation) is the second best-selling in history (only surpassed by QUEEN Greatest Hits) and the current longest on the charts with 970 weeks (and continues to add ...)
Extraordinary marks for a non-British, non-American music band
The validity of his music was maintained and perpetuated through generations by the success of some Australian films with his songs, the musical "Mamma mia" produced by composers Björn and Benny (20 years on the bill) and the films "Mamma mia" 1 and 2 (and a third soon) with Meryl Streep and Pierce Brosnann as protagonists singing their songs
they have a thematic museum in Stockholm 6 years ago, tribute bands etc. (the list is extensive to try to mark the influence of ABBA's music)
Golden Slumbers/ Carry that weight...The Beatles
You guys are right. This song will never die. George Harrison's rosewood Telecaster sounds so good on this song.
best song for me: "a day in the life"
Requests for Beatles - “Strawberry Fields” ; “Penny Lane” ; “A day in the life” ; “I am the Walrus”.
The greatest beatles songs imo
The song set the standard for the classic rock ballad.
I grew up in a strict house hold, we barely listened to music, I got married in 1979, my husband had all of the Beatles albums, I listened to them all over and over until I knew every word to every song. I must say "Maxwell's Silver Hammer" made me laugh so hard. I know it's kind of dark, but I'd never heard anything like it, I would like to see you guys react to it.
i love you beatles came back
Twas in Liverpool, one fine day,
That the Fab Four began to play,
And soon the news got around to all the towns,
That here was the sounds to beat all sounds.
60s music is all about the groove.. also known as groovy.
I'm impressed👌. You know your Beatles
Immortal indeed!
If you're in the mood for something trippy, check out the song, "Tomorrow Never Knows" off the Revolver album...
My favorite Beatles recording,
Keep these Beatles songs coming guys please
Something is an amazing song as well. George Harrison wrote a masterpiece that can easily be The best from Abbey Road
