Thank you so much for all the lovely comments of support and commiseration. We are still devastated by the loss of all those beautiful trees. The land is being given over to animal feed crops. There is some light as we have been told by the owner that the profits from these fields will be donated to a local charity. There is one last dump film this Sunday but we are working on a very special Dump Doll extravaganza including crafting and a closer look at all the dolls and parts we have found at the dump. That film will hopefully be out next Thursday (I say hopefully because this is possibly the most involved craft we have ever done) Thank you again for your wonderful comments they mean so much xxxxxxxxx
@@tonywild1963 I do that on land near me and still find perfume bottles and stoppers, blue and white pottery and ink jars so not everything gets completely mashed up. You would have thought that apple cider was still popular and certainly apple cider vinegar is very on trend. Perhaps it's the lack of pickers that has driven this or the age of the trees even though they seemed to be producing still.
Also, I would react just as you both did to all this. I would speak to the dump and thank it and tell the little faces that they're coming home safe. I feel so connected to you lovely folks. Thank you for sharing with us.
I so much enjoy reading the comments after watching the videos .So many lovely people visiting ! It’s a real pleasure to know that there’s such enjoyment in seeing the discoveries that would otherwise be lost forever. 😊 Wonderful . ❤️
You are all so lovely, just know all will be well. My sister died today and you from so far away are helping me through this horrible time. I am grateful and thank you.☮️🇨🇦 Footnote: normally my family would be together but Covid. It’s all so weird. So watching you is such a comfort.
Dear Lovely Skull, we are so sorry to hear about your sister. We wish you and your family well, and hope that even in these awful covid times you can comfort each other. We are glad to hear that our video could offer a little comfort, we know that this wonderful community has helped us through difficult times... You and your family are in our thoughts ❤️
First I want you to know I'm sending you both some comforting hugs. As our Kate stood there looking at that broken tree, with her heart breaking, I too cried. Last week they removed a very healthy, lovely maple tree from next door to me, It was 70 to 100 years old and we have seen many generations of birds nesting in that tree. When I saw it, it stunned me so much, it took my breath away. I cried for days for that tree and a wee bird that sat in a neighboring tree crying. I've never heard a bird wailing before, but I can assure you that is what it was doing. A couple days later the city marked a maple on my property, to be cut or removed, (something to do with city water lines, though I'm thinking it has to do with the five gee whiz poles being erected), all in the name of progress? Please send up prayers with me, that I can trim it down enough that they won't remove it. I am so sad, I'm not gonna lie, though your wonderful rescues, along with your bucket listers were encouraging and lightened my Heart a bit. Bless Your Beautiful Hearts, Fleur and Kate, From a kindred soul sister.
How utterly heartbreaking to watch. I'm on the other side of the world but it feels like my hearts been ripped out, I can't even imagine how you must feel xXx
After watching "We Went Back To Our Favourite Bottle Dump + We Found STUNNING Finds!!!" yesterday, I went back in time and watched this video. It reminded me of the town of Valsetz, Oregon that was bulldozed away. It was an unincorporated logging town of less than 1000 people. In 1984 the town was removed and, even worse, in 1988 the Valsetz lake was undammed. My grandfather, father, and myself spent many hours canoeing and fishing while watching the beavers, occasional bald eagle, and many other varieties of wildlife in their natural setting. Like your spot, it was close by and many trips were made. The town began in 1919 so any finds wouldn't be quite as old as yours. We went up after they drained the lake and found fishing gear everywhere, even boat motors, and large 50 gallon drums that they thoughtlessly tossed in the lake. It was sad indeed and now so overgrown with trees you wouldn't even know it existed. At the beginning of your video, I wanted to jump into the screen and give you both a hug. I hope you both will be able to keep going there for a long time. Merry Christmas!
I too think the orchard dump was waiting for you to come find as many treasures as you could find. I know Kate will remember that spot fondly for the rest of her life. 💜 Thank you for sharing so many great treasure finds there with us.
So sad to see those trees cut down just like that and all the treasures go to waste!😥 Luckily you were able to save some nice things! Give you a virtual hug!😚
Oh gosh, I hope an ecological survey was done before they destroyed it!! All the wildlife! 😦😯😟😔 It breaks my heart, that looked like a wildlife haven 😢
My thinking as well. Often land owners will make these changes without reference to anyone else for fear of delaying their planned work. Wild life, conservation, preservation doesn't enter their thinking.
Oh sooo sad, the amazing bottle dump, the beautiful trees, the Robins and all other wildlife now all gone 😢😢😢😢 my heart breaks for you guys. You have saved some wonderful items though ❤❤❤ them all. Thank you for sharing 😊
Awww, Kate and Fleur I am so sorry. The destruction broke my heart too...and I only watch the finds! It is very much the loss of a dear friend. Your tears are well understood. Your video was a lovely tribute.
Nooooooo don’t those idiots know we NEED TO PLANT MORE TREES AND NOT CUT THEM DOWN? I’m crying with you. If they are turning the dump into fields you might be able to walk the field after ploughing and find more things. So glad you rescued as much things as you could. Love your wax seal, lucky you found it. God bless and stay safe and well 🙏🙏🙏🥰🥰🥰👏👏👏👏👍👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️❤️🌻🌻🌻🌻
I'm sad & glad to see this video. Sad to see the lively trees gone & glad you got so many good finds. The terracotta doll could be stuck onto the terracotta pot & used to hold precious finds. They are my favourite finds. Beautiful music added to my melancholy. Thank you.
Absolutely heart-breaking to see that much needed and beautiful habitat destroyed. It was such an idyllic spot for you to go and find your treasures xx
Oh Fleur and Kate, I am so sorry this has happened. I've so many fond memories of this location, can only imagine how many more you have. Thank you for bravely trying to save as much as possible.
How heartbreaking 💔 I too know the relationship you can build with your favorite spots to lark. Sending you lots of love and support. Such gorgeous finds! That German marble is incredible! So special to rescue so many doll pieces.
How could this happen? Why did this happen? I was I tears along with you. It was such a special place. Your magical dump bird. Wonderful trees. a beautiful place gone for ever. Why why why ? Xx
😒😢 oh no...not the bottle dump!!! I'm so sorry 😔, my heart and stomach literally dropped when I heard your voice over. All those apple trees (sustaining food for birds, bugs, bees and possibly mammals) and various other shrubs and plants that nurtured and sheltered Mother Nature's wild children.🤦🏼♀️(sigh) I'm just heartsick 💔. So few wild and safe places for nature's creatures anymore. Thank you for giving your best to try and save as much history treasures as you can 🙌🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻!!! I can hear the deep sadness and shock in both your voices😌🤗(giant virtual cuddle hug). Can't wait to see the next installment... hope you get to see your "wee" mudlarking birdie one last time 🤞🏻. Love and hugs🙂🤗🤭😘
I’m so very sorry. I cried too. The bottle dump gave you so much joy that you passed on to us. I’m saddened for the tress, wildlife and I’m sure the stretch of woods was sad too. Thank you dump for all the excitement and joy you gave Fleur & Kate & Oscar. Your finds we’re bittersweet. ☹️
I'm sorry for your loss of this dear 'friend'. It was so close (literally) to you and gave you so many nice things. You were so good to go and save what you could.
I am so sad to see the fruit trees killed. Thank you for saving all treasures that you could. I have really enjoyed going on adventures with you all. Jodie
My heart hurts for the loss of such a source rich with history.😢. What a great loss of history resources and an amazing orchard. It’s great that you were able to save what you did. Love your videos
I also feel for you. As a small child I used to visit an overgrown walled garden full of overgrown shrubs, butterflies, wild bees, beetles and flowers. It was torn up and the land covered with tarmac. As an adult, I still remember the sadness of its passing.
A person at their desk in a cosy office signs off this land in a second not ever knowing the consequences to the nature and avalon they have destroyed . We are all with you ❤
So sad. Wish I were there. I could harvest some of those trees and turn them into bonsai trees. You'd be amazed how even big, fat trees can be made into large bonsai. I have two ponderosa pines that are over 130 years old that were saved from a forest fire by harvesting them and creating bonsai from them. They are beautiful and very happy. 💚
A few tears here too ladies. I'm truly sorry that your dump will no longer be. I love your finds. The bottles are amazing. The tiny green one is so sweet and the Ink with the ink still inside; So cool! Kate, I love your idea to use the toothbrush as a squirrel tale. Perfect! I'm sending hugs your way. Take care and cheers from North Carolina.
Hello ladies, I'm so sorry about your dump. So much lost. I think you can tell the with Crystal and glass by the sound they make when you tap on them. The big clay marble is a for a game. Tom Burleigh found one once. I truly enjoy all your videos. Take care and stay safe 🙏
I just found you a couple of days ago on a video titled Mud vs Beach w/the Mud pies and love your sweet calming voice and sincerity. You draw out my empathy, thus my feeling the deep sadness of losing this green space with its beautiful mature trees and its earthen treasures...I am so sorry this happened in your corner of the world.
I'm sorry...I've lost so many special places in my lifetime due to "progress"...take heart that you guys loved it and documented its beauty for thousands to see for as long as the internet and humans exist.
oh! Seeing those trees I just about cried! I wonder if you could take cuttings of them? Its so sad. Lots of love and support to you guys, take care of yourselves!
♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️ Thank you for sharing your wonderful adventures and talents. I have learnt so much from you all in many ways. My heart goes out to you and look forward to your new adventures and delights to give you joy. *Disinfected hugs* to warm your huge hearts a little XXXXX
Hi ladies, I feel your sadness, that dump had become a real haven for wildlife and I felt so sick seeing such destruction. At least you managed to rescue some of the dump babies that live there. I think that Kate's 'big marble' is a Jack or 'Cochonnet' (French 'piglet') from a game of bowls or 'boules.' It was a game that became very popular during the 19th century. Big hugs, Louie Xx
Oh no! I feel your pain so much. I was crying quite a lot during your video, so sad. I’m glad that you have managed to find such beautiful treasures. That place was so magical. ❤️🇦🇺xxx
Waaaahhhhh! I’m so sorry, for you, the trees and the wildlife. You care of and for the dump will have been witnessed by the dump devas hence your beautiful rewards
I was saddened when I read the video description. I cried when I watched the video. I always hate seeing nature bulldozed just because someone wants to be richer. I don't know about in the UK but here in America we have derelict shopping centers and buildings that just sit unused that could be torn down or recycled for other uses. They are eyesores. But no, they would rather clear out the beautiful trees that make homes and shelter for nature, that help create and purify our air. All in the name of progress and money. I'm so sad for you sweet ladies and for all the little creatures and the beloved orchard. Virtual hugs are sent.
@Sappho Nymph 816 True. It just saddens me more than anything else. It would be nice if there was a limit to how much of it is done. Reuse the used spaces rather than so much of the green spaces. Sorry if I upset you.
Here in England we also have inner city old buildings and derelict places where they could put houses it does make me angry when they start tearing trees up my family hate that I nearly have a tit fit at someone chopping trees down best regards to your self
So sad about the loss of the dump. Maybe it'll be just covered and a future mudlarker will reveal it again. Glad you are getting the chance to retrieve things and say goodbye. Xxoo
Tragic! I believe I'm nearly as devastated as you both are. What a loss! I'm so sorry. You will certainly have many memories though, you've found some wonderful things there, and this trip was no exception. I love your finds. Thanks again for sharing. :-)
I accidentally found your video and began to watch, the half a acorn pipe what a great find it would look so good in a small dark wooded shadow box with black back ground, u have a new subscriber I luv the all finds.🇨🇦👍😎
Oh my this is the saddest thing ever!! Lovingly picking each item to save it. I haven't cried this hard in a long time. Thank you for sharing!! Hoping Spring brings us all better days.
Amazing finds in this video ladies, well done! Love your films, lovely shots, beautiful music and your enthusiasm is infectious. I also find your crafting films wonderfully relaxing. Thank you 🤗🥰
It is sad that this mystical, gnarled, apple cider smelling, friend has been decimated. My sincerest sorrow for you and the nature there. No more words. Love you ladies, dearly.
Those beautiful apple trees!!!!!! I felt physically sick when I saw the destruction and thought of all those birds without a home and all of those hidden treasures of the past lives such a sad time. :(
Fleur and Kate sorry for you, glad you had the chance to save some of your treasures, shame that progress has to damage so much nature and it’s happening so much everywhere these days. ❤️ from Ontario Canada
I'm so so sorry for the loss of the beautiful old bottle dump. I hope you can find as much as you can. I also cried like a baby. Hate to see the loss of things that we love. Good luck hunting my lovely ladies. Love to all.
I can feel the devastation and utter heartbreak from you both. "Welcome to the family" to those tiny faces that were to be lost forever is so heartfelt to hear. I'm sorry for the trees and wildlife too. I'm glad you both care so much. ❤

Could you ask if it's still possible to go searching the land between crops when it's ploughed. It sound like they wouldn't mind that.
@@tonywild1963 exactly what I thought
Thank You Fleur & Kate♥️💐🐿️🙋

Brought tears to this old man, they are destroying my beautiful Britain.

Btw I can understand the meaning behind your name but just wondered how you came up with it?
It is sad that this mystical, gnarled, apple cider smelling, friend has been decimated. My sincerest sorrow for you and the nature there. No more words. Love you ladies, dearly.
I'm so sorry, I mourn the loss & devastating "progress" with you. Far more lost than gained all in the name of money. So very sad 😥
Totally agree
No more mudlarking bird 😥 My heart is broken for you both. There will be new adventures and blessed finds. Chin up
Those beautiful apple trees!!!!!! I felt physically sick when I saw the destruction and thought of all those birds without a home and all of those hidden treasures of the past lives such a sad time. :(
Totally agree
The seal literally looks like a doll head to me, two eyes and a smile with a tongue out and a big head of hair.. Or am I the only one??
Fleur and Kate sorry for you, glad you had the chance to save some of your treasures, shame that progress has to damage so much nature and it’s happening so much everywhere these days. ❤️ from Ontario Canada
Crystal when held in one hand and pinged with the other has a beautiful ring to it
That is so sad, the same here with development for housing. Farms and orchards being lost. 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
