I can't get over the tone of this song - especially in a live setting, its amazing 'dirty' and unpolished sound makes it one of the greatest examples of a grunge song ever made
That's pure punk rock. I don't know why they called it grunge. One hell of a lot more punk than fucking Green Day. That's for damned sure. Nirvana was 100% punk rock.

Why are you surprised? If it's shot on 35mm Film quality, it's great. I watch movies from the 1930s (The Wizard of Oz is a well known one) that look just as good when restored. Beside that, home movie formats & TVs could only handle so much of the true video quality that already existed.
The way Krist helps out Kurt play it off when the string of his guitar broke shows the level of friendship of the two, it was so nice of Krist to do that

Once I and a friend invited two ladies to a weekend house(another friend), it was cold as (January). The house had no heating except a fireplace inside, so I smashed in it some wood...but that's not the reason I'm telling you this, when we got a bit drunk I found behind the couch a guitar(the guy who has the weekend is not a guitar player, nor is anyone in his family). I was surprised that I found a guitar there, also It looked a bit dirty...I'm a TERRIBLE live player but I can work it around a studio, so after a couple of drinks I try playing... BAMBOLEO (no I'm not Spanish or from France), I was amazed how it sounded almost the same so I started to jam to those two ladies, we had fun :D When I woke up in the morning I saw the guitar ''smashed on the floor'' and only the E , A and B strings were on the guitar and the guitar was really damaged, I didn't broke a string since I was a kid, both girls said there were all strings, friend said that maybe I broke some of them because every time I went for a smoke I went with the guitar ... A couple days later I asked that friend who has the weekend, after cleaning up the place, ''from when do you play guitar?'' He asked ''why? I don't play guitar?'' I said, ''well there's a guitar in your weekend''...he drove to the weekend immediately and looked all amazed from where did that guitar appear, nobody in his family plays guitar. We leaved it there and to my knowledge, no one was in that weekend before we threw a party for our classmates in June, someone even brought new strings but the guitar disappeared, also I didn't find any broken strings inside the house or in the snow the next morning, so yeah, thanks for reading a story about 'broken strings'' :D
The 90s Seattle sound had the idea to remove the corporate shit from the 80s and just be free with what you do. If you look the bass player (krist) Told kurt just to have fun after it happened. Those are the bedt bands in my opinion

Man, this video just became a new favorite. Krist cheering Kurt up was just the cutest thing, and then there's Dave being an absolute beast at the drums, and then there's Kurt doing those insane distortions in his voice absolutely effortlessly. This video is PERFECT!

I was a nirvana freak in elementary school when he died. I had every kind of record, cds, posters, shirts, magazines, stickers, even air fresheners. I played guitar and sang with their music. I even looked like Kurt. Those were the days.
