I don't think it was his last chance. He just had to actually be sorry for what he did, not for what is happening to him. Sure, he said he was sorry, but is he really sincere? Did he admit to any actual wrongdoing? Did he try to fix anything? Why didn't beg to at least be allowed to pay Banny before he dies, after being shown what happens to her because of him? He's still completely selfish by the end. He doesn't deserve forgiveness. He doesn't deserve to live.

@@AJRivers21 I guess you didn't understood the point of this story, Boozoo is represented as a greedy bastard who cares for nobody but him, he does terrible things and does not appreciate Christmas, the ghosts tried to explain to him what the consequences are of what he's doing but he does not care until he gets way too scared, then it all seems to go back to normal and that he was now changed, but as the ghosts said "it's too late to save them." showing him that he should have learned the lesson before. His death is his punishment.
I like The Walten Files interpretation of A Christmas Carol. It's super original. There is no redemption arc. Boozoo goes through the same beats as Scrooge, but rather than cleansing his soul through warnings from the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future, he is instead vanquished. In a way, Boozoo's Ghosts is the perfect foil to The Mysterious House, because in The Mysterious House, bad things happen to good people, but in Boozoo's Ghosts, bad things happen to everybody. I also love how much this series lingers on frightening imagery to create suspense. There are "jump scares", but they are all earned and built towards. The vaporwave glitch style score also channels tons of suspense

I did notice how Boozo was shown a red silhouette in the mirror like how Edd and Molly are shown in Bunny Farm with the word 'regrets' highlighted. I think that's just an easter egg though.
If you slow the playback speed to 0.5x, and go to 37:04, you can actually see boozoos mangled face uncensored. Honestly I expected it to be a lot worse, really shows how the best forms of horror are left up to the imagination.
I love how much meaner Jolly and Mortality are to Boozoo than Sad. Sad is just like "you're a bad person but you still have time to change", Jolly straight up roasts him, and Mortality fucking slam dunks him.

One thing I noticed is that at 22:30 if you listen closely you realise those noises that they're making are distorted versions of things that we have already heard Boozoo say. They are literally spitting his words back at him. It's a nice touch!
I feel like this version hits so much harder than the original because there’s no chance for Boozoo to make up for it. He never gets to apologize or attempt to right his wrongs. It’s just over. Bone-chilling.

It’s like these sadistic twisted otherworldly forces tormenting him to teach him a lesson, but he doesn’t even get a chance to learn anything, seemingly just to get rid of him in the worst way possible. Like the whole ordeal is pointless and cruel. It really makes you feel truly helpless.

I love how martin takes the saying in art to never use black airbrushing for shadows and flips it on its head. Using black for shading using an airbrush tool in digital art makes it look muddy and gross but in this case it makes everything so fucking disturbing! I love it so much! Fantastic work as always
@@smileyking3193 i know this reply was from almost a year ago but I still wanna add my own take There *is* plenty of reason not to shade with black. When people say that, they're not talking about the solid black comic-book style shading, or when the black is used _intentionally_ like in this series. The advice is more so used with newer artists, who don't necessarily understand that shadows A) do have some colour irl, and B) generally tend to look better when more vibrant with more stylized styles of art. If you've ever seen newer artists art, a lot of them shade with nothing but a black airbrush tool, which can look good if used right (again, like twf), but typically just tends to look,, not the best. If you know what you're doing, by all means, shade however you want with whatever colours you want. But there is merit to "Don't shade with black." Even here, not all the shading seems to be black either.
A small detail I noticed upon my millionth viewing: All three of them refer to Boozoo as "friend." Your past knew you, your present knows you, and Mortality knows everyone.

I heard this too, but for some reason, it was me watching a UA-camr (DashieGames) and when he gets jumpscared, his scream starts to glitch like it was the scariest thing ever and I woke up in a cold sweat. I don't even think I saw anything about the Walten Files before this.

Something that kind of hit me years later with this. During the first ghost's song - he says "you don't want to hear me cry" and it shows his eye markings starting to warp, foreshadowing the first ghosts true form and warning Boozo that he should admit his mistakes or else.

I remember reading about someone's theory on this being the point of view of Felix while he's watching these specials put out by Bunny Smiles as they represent his guilt, based on the kneejerk change of pace and the glitching. Like this story was actually normal, but in Felix's now tortured mind, he sees this. Honestly an interesting theory that lines up for me.
Actually in the original Christmas Carol I think the 3rd Ghost’s appearance of a floating shade with no distinct form is meant to represent how the future has no form until you yourself shape it.
I want to give a shout out to my boy Sad. I think he genuinely wanted to help Boozoo, but Boozoo spat in his face so Sad gave the other two the go-to to blow his head off, watching along with Jolly.
Sadly, this is how it really is. Sometimes, people do bad things. And sometimes, those people want to atone, grow, right what theyve wronged, apologize, and change for the better, because they genuinely feel bad about it. And sometimes, they are denied that chance. Sometimes people don't realize they've already used up their last chance until it's too late.

I like The Walten Files interpretation of A Christmas Carol. It's super original. There is no redemption arc. Boozoo goes through the same beats as Scrooge, but rather than cleansing his soul through warnings from the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future, he is instead vanquished. In a way, Boozoo's Ghosts is the perfect foil to The Mysterious House, because in The Mysterious House, bad things happen to good people, but in Boozoo's Ghosts, bad things happen to everybody. I also love how much this series lingers on frightening imagery to create suspense. There are "jump scares", but they are all earned and built towards. The vaporwave glitch style score also channels tons of suspense

I love how martin takes the saying in art to never use black airbrushing for shadows and flips it on its head. Using black for shading using an airbrush tool in digital art makes it look muddy and gross but in this case it makes everything so fucking disturbing! I love it so much! Fantastic work as always

There *is* plenty of reason not to shade with black. When people say that, they're not talking about the solid black comic-book style shading, or when the black is used _intentionally_ like in this series. The advice is more so used with newer artists, who don't necessarily understand that shadows A) do have some colour irl, and B) generally tend to look better when more vibrant with more stylized styles of art.
If you've ever seen newer artists art, a lot of them shade with nothing but a black airbrush tool, which can look good if used right (again, like twf), but typically just tends to look,, not the best.
If you know what you're doing, by all means, shade however you want with whatever colours you want. But there is merit to "Don't shade with black." Even here, not all the shading seems to be black either.
