Loved the guy in Pittsburgh. He was asked too much and had too little talent around to back him up in Toronto. Was he good enough to be the #1 guy on offense? Maybe not. At least, not on a cup winning team. But as the 3rd option or so, he was awesome. And that streak. Talk about beating the odds! Awesome video
Phil Kessel should been signed previous season by so many tanking teams in need of solid veteran experience alone. Just look at the Buffalo Sabres, youngest team in the league but no on-ice leadership from experienced veteran(s). Or Columbus Blue Jackets, or Seattle Kraken etc. I mean he have been blessed by not carrying lots of injuries so a minimum contract is he all worth !!!!
Its insane how a guy can be a team leading scorer, cup winner, tournament leading scorer internationally, and still get left off teams and go undrafted. There isnt a more underrated player in the league.

I would have liked to see Phil be more physical out there as far as being more of a presence. But he didn't have to he would just get goals when his team needed them . Every team needs a guy like him on it . 3x Stanley cup champion , he should be in the hall , it wasn't for lack of trying
