There are PLENTY of facts about this specific plug n play -Reaching stage 256/stage 0 on Galaga will restart the plug and play -Galaga will show the millions on the left side unlike the original not being able to do that unless you play as player 2 (right side) -on the plug and play tv games logo, go up and down on the joystick while also mashing A to access a secret menu. There will be a sound test where ONE OF THOSE GAMES IS JR. PAC-MAN. Facts about Pac-Man Plus -Pac-Man Plus has also been ported to Pac-Man's Pixel Bash which is an official Namco cabinet released in 2018. -Pac-Man Plus was made as a conversion kit for the originl Pac-Man as a way to combat other bootleg hacks that may hurt the Pac-Man brand.
Pac Man plus is a quote “authorized enhancement kit” that was released after MS Pac Man in attempt to fight the various bootleg PCB’s (Printed Circuit Board) being put in their machines that could potentially harm the Pac Man image. Pac Man Plus was released solely as a conversion kit for the Upright and Cabaret/Mini models. It was never released as a dedicated machine, instead you would install the Enhancement kit onto the existing PCB and swap the Marquee on a Pac Man machine and you’ve successfully “upgraded” your Pac Man. The marquee describes the game as quote “exciting new” though many saw the game as Midway making a harder game to take more quarters. As a whole the game was drowned by the hype of the MS Pac Man craze taking off causing Pac Man Plus to overall fall into obscurity. Personally I love Pac Man Plus. It separates the novice players from the pros haha.
I first played Pac-Man Plus on a 60 in 1 multicade at a Pizza Hut in Tennessee in 2009. That was the first time I also played Jr Pac Man. This may be an unpopular opinion, but while I think nothing beats the original Pac-Man, I like Plus better because of the added challenges in it. But that’s just my opinion.
If you wanna find this in an arcade, it's on the 60-in-1 iCade multicade board. I've seen 1 in the wild at my local pizza hut as well as the previous 39-in-1 Game Never Over, though I don't remember seeing it on there.
The Midway/ Namco Pac-rights story is really something. On the one hand, it was never really Midway's IP to release sequels for - on the other, they ended up creating the definitive sequels. Plus is like that half step between the original game and the upgrade that would become Ms (even if Plus released two months later for most of North America). Players had simply gotten too good (and bored) with the original title and these expansions didn't require arcade owners to buy a whole new cabinet to introduce a new quarter-sinking challenge. Really, had Plus bothered introducing alternating mazes (even two of them compared to Ms' four), it would likely have been a lot more popular than it had been. For a majority of arcade owners, there simply weren't enough changes to warrant foregoing the jump up to the superior Ms. Pac-Man upgrade for this.
I remember playing this around the same time I was playing pac man world 2 back in the day. I still haven't understood why they turn into fruit and why the maze dissappears when eating a power pellet. I remember seeing this plug and play at target and freaking out about super pac man and pac and pal being advertised on the box, because I had no idea what those games were and wanted to play them.
I’ve been wanting a joystick or arcade machine with Pac-Man, Pac-Man Plus, Ms. Pac-Man, Jr. Pac-Man, Super Pac-Man, Pac and Pal. and Baby Pac-Man. Maybe Pac-Mania too.
@@aydenmarietta4906 it’s funny that jr pac man will never be re released due to it being unpopular and the fact that it was made by midway then what’s pac man plus excuse? I don’t think baby pac man would happen regardless because it’s a arcade AND a pinball game which makes it tricky to replicate. I wouldn’t mind dlc for pac man museum + though
when i first played pacman plus i already lost at level 1 the ghost move faster than you power pellets barley even save you since any ghost won't change into blue
Pac-Man Plus was made to do away with the patterns that the original game was susceptible to. I remember picking up a free play when someone passed it to me and then passing it to someone else after a while, all on the same quarter. Great for kids on a budget but not so much for arcade owners.

I love that plug n play machine!!! I grew up with that one and still have it today :)
I grew up with a pac-man shaped one
Pac-Man Plus reminds me of that old 7UP ad where the maze was green, and Pac-Man drank 7UP to eat the ghosts
Same
"I don't know what the ghost is called here, we'll just call him Jim." Literally ms pac man and jr pac man
Another short and sweet (Like a strawberry🍓, which this game doesn't have) one, pretty good!
I have that plug n play too!
Also I 100% agree that Galaxian is vastly inferior to Galaga.
Literally Space Invaders is more fun than Galaxian.
Pac Man Plus, if I'm correct, was developed in part as a way to combat patterned play of the original
Yes. Unfortunately it was too late because we were playing the bootlegs right before Ms Pacman

this should been called KAIZO PACMAN

Why did they not have it in pac MAN Museum plus😢
Maybe as dlc? I can dream can I?
one could say that the power pellets doing random crap is a side-effect of pac-man getting drunk
I personally really really like Pac Man Plus
Same. I really love the extra challenges added to it
@@aydenmarietta4906 same here i wish they added it to Pac-Man Museum+
@@raylewis60 agreed. They should add Jr Pac Man as well. Along with Baby Pac Man and others
