Great skills. Question: Why is there no concern about wood movement on the front with both scews and glue? Does it not need to move also as solid wood?
Thank you for your kind words and for bringing up a great question about wood movement! You're absolutely right that solid wood expands and contracts with changes in humidity across the grain. The front was screwed and glued to the front of the box, the grain was in the same direction. therefore the wood movement is across the grain in both pieces is in the same direction. That is why in the drawer bottom we had allow for wood movement because the grain direction is in opposite directions. In other words a drawer setting on the table its length is not going to change nor the width is going to change, however the height will change with humidity change. Thanks again for watching and for the thoughtful comment!

I think you should have used more clamps.😊 Project is turning out great!
Thanks for the kind words! 😊 I probably should have used more clamps, but I’ll admit-I got a little tired. Glad you're enjoying the project!

In my opinion a 1/8 “ groove depth is not enough. Minimum of 1/4” should have been used.
I see your point, and only time will tell. I believe the oak will hold up just fine, but I appreciate you sharing your thoughts!
