I think this is done perfectly. If you watch both part 1 & 2 from start to finish they explain very nicely how to, what to look for, and the kind of equipment and set ups they use.
I'm going to try this next time I'm in the lake.

start with a bit of paper, write down your top twenty tips for catching flatties.
then make a video that illustrates a bunch of those tips and chuck out anything that doesn't help tell your story.
that way you might end up with a how to video that actually teaches people how to do a thing,
not a video where people watch you do a thing.

A couple of lure and equipment salesmen. Are there any real fishermen who will show you how it is done.
Funny that only one fish was shown with that large expensive lure in it's mouth. But was it place there by the "fisherman" or the fish? The larger the lure, the higher the price.

You can get a pack of gulp 8" jerkshads for the same price as the 2" grubs, not sure what you are on about :/

If fishing that late at night i would recommend Live Bait - during the day flick some lures around as you saw we have great success casting lures around during the day targeting Flathead

Great vid and enjoyed the gentle release of the big one, though It would be nice to see some lure action prior to hook up (know it probably a secret...)

I caught my biggest flatty with my dad (98cm) with live potty mullet (I was 12) had no idea how to catch a fish back then. I remember dad saying is was only like 5 pnd line with a 12 pound trace or something like that. I was going for brim but he had 10 pound line looking for Jewish with a 15 pound trace. Good night I remember pushing the boat for 300 meters when the tide changed

Hi, just wondering about live bait and cut up bait. I've been using small bait fish I get from the river and cut up mullet. I've only ever hooked 50 - 60cms on cut up mullet, is it just more recommend to use lures? Oh also I've been mainly only doing night fishing from 11pm to 3am does this make a difference to recommended bait?

Just a tip. When your talking about being able to see through the water. Place your polarised glasses over the camera lens. That way we can see what your seeing.

good stuff. Ive had a secret small sand bank that would always produce 60cm+ flaties. But due to the crazy weather in Queensland these past years, the sand bank has been washed away.. need to spend some time and scout some more spots.

hey REEL IT IN I was wondering,
I'm quite a beginner fisherman (13 years old) and am thinking of buying a nice lightweight budget setup!
I was looking at the "ugly stick gold" range and was wondering whether this would be a good rod for catching bream and flattys. also what do you recommend reel wise I am willing to spend 100-150 on this setup.
