Oh yes it's SO hard - I would not be able to work with them in tow nor do I really want to - I want to be fully focused on them when I'm with them, you know? And yes we are homeschooling :)

I am planning on ordering a grain mill. However, I have heard that kneading freshly milled wheat dough in the Kitchen Aid mixer (Artisan model) is hard on the mixer. It has been suggested to give the mixer breaks during kneading process, so it won't over heat and possibly burn out. Have you ever noticed your mixer getting too hot? I am thinking about buying the Zojirushi bread maker which can handle the kneading, rising and baking with ease. I would love to be able to use my mixer and not have to house another appliance, but I also don't want to destroy my mixer. Just curious on your thoughts. Love the video. Thanks for sharing.
Good question! I feel like it def heats up but I don't think I've ever had to stop it and let it cool down. I've been using my kitchenaid mixer for a while and it's still working perfectly! I don't think it's necessary to buy a whole other appliance but up to you!

The idea was to get them for milk, they can finally be bred now but I honestly am juts not ready for that commitment in this stage of life lol

Haven't gotten that far! We've had a lot of foxes issues over the years so aren't even close to having any hens stop laying
When you sift the freshly milled flour in this recipe, are you sifting out the bran and germ?
No it just incorporates air into the flour, which makes a fluffier bread. Everything goes right into the bowl though nothing is left out!
