    Scottish Smallpipes: Brìghde Chaimbeul
    Vocals: Brìghde Chaimbeul
    Saxophone: Colin Stetson
produced by Brìghde Chaimbeul & Colin Stetson
recorded by Julie McLarnon at Analogue Catalogue Studios
    mixed by Colin Stetson
    mastered by Gregor Zemljič
Conceptualised and shot by Jordan Young and John Smith
📍Cille-Mhoire, An t-Eilean Sgitheanach (Kilmuir, Isle of Skye)
The track has two distinct melodies - one mimics the song of a swan that swam on Loch Chaluim Chille. The loch was drained in 1829 in an effort to reclaim arable ground. The idea of something as alive as a body of water disappearing is kind of wild, right? We filmed on a perfect winter night in site of the Lochan, projecting footage of Skye lasses playing in the water (including Brìghde herself) live on to the side of a ruined church.
Special thank you to Friends of Highland Music and Atlas Arts

She's taking up where Martin Bennett left off, revisioning the possibilities of traditional Scottish music.

Lovely piping. Piping is a serious art form, it deserves this kind of treatment regardless of tradition.

      It's a Scottish Smallpipes:
Scottish Smallpipes are a bellows-blown bagpipe historically originating in the Lowland and Borders region of Scotland/Northumberland (N.E. England). There are examples of instruments like this such as the mouth-blown Montgomery Smallpipes in E, dated 1757, which are now in the National Museum of Scotland.
