My grandson is a nonverbal autistic 8 year old. He is more empathetic, bright, smart, funny, and energetic, brilliant child. Gus's reaction was absolutely heart-warming and loving with his pride for his dad. Ann Coulter made a nasty comment calling him "weird". WTH! It shows how disconnected she is and sociopathic that SHE CAN'T RECOGNIZE a sweet, pure but child like behavior from the son? A compassionate adult could connect the dots pretty fast about recognizing his reactions might be of a child w special needs.
Gus is neurodivergent. They describe it a non-verbal something or other. Sounds like autistic to me, some of whom are non-verbal, at least at times. He's also ADHD and has a depressive disorder, which often comes with neurodivergence. I saw his outburst. It was so sweet and moving. It was then I googled him because I suspected autistic, being one myself. They are open about his situation.

Coulter has already deleted that post, but not before many took a screenshot. Gus is autistic and there are millions of people in this country who have family and friends that are autistic or neurodiverse, or are themselves. Of course, this includes Republicans and Independents who will see how they or their loved ones are treated and mocked. That is how magas treat the disabled, as we know from 45. What this has done has brought a lot of neurodiverse people out to remove their masks. It has warmed my heart to see. It has put a spotlight on that large community of amazing people. I just hope that this becomes an important teaching moment for all. Gus will be ok. He has gained at least a billion godparents all over the world who will stand up to these sick, putrid excuses for humans.

Jake's known about his diagnosis for YEARS-he's an active partner in all aspects of his educational assessments/social & therapeutic treatments, etc. He's an extremely sensitive young person.

They are sick, in a cult, and are disconnected from reality. We must have some compassion for them, despite our disgust with their actions.
