When you travel with your wife, you make an enchanting couple, the conversation flows, your appreciation for the food, the wines, the service and the table-neighbor friendships is so enjoyable :) The same, when you travel with good friends and you can stay as long as you like. But, as in this instance and at least one other, when you are visiting someone who is working the next day, I find it insensitive to continue ordering yet more when your host/guide is giving subtle hints that enough is enough. I've been in that situation, trying my best to stay alert, knowing that I have to get up in just a few hours for another full day's work. It's why I declined a very lucrative job offer when I moved countries. The type of visitors were extremely well-heeled, some very charming but all wanted the ultimate gastronomic & venue experience that would last way past my bedtime and enthusiasm level. That's why I appreciate the videos with your wife so much more. You are both enjoying life at the moment and it's so nice to see.

I'm Korean and a few years ago had a wonderful dining experience in Lyon. My wife is a writer and I have the pleasure of visiting wonderful places when she does tours. We were picked up and taken to the Jean Nouvel designed opera house. Rode the elevator to the all glass penthouse where a long table awaited occupied by famous writers and French publishers. A multi course meal by the best Lyonnese chefs. Fantastic evening.

When I visited France a few years ago, Lyonnaise cuisine became a favorite of mine in a few days. This reminds me I need to go back sooner rather than later, its too good to be experienced only once in life!
