No it's not. No one regarding "tourist magnets" in Germany screams "Hamburg!" I mean no one. Americans alone think that everything German is what one would find in Bavaria and the rest of tourists usually want to see castles, the Rhine River, palaces and old romantic timber houses or forests/nature preserves, not a port with a red light and a couple of items to see (stadtmitte, concert hall, St. Pauli, Binnenalster/Aussenalster). The busiest airports are Frankfurt, Munich, Berlin, Duesseldorf and then Hamburg. Why? Because most tourist fly in close to the destinations they are interested in OR that the airport has better connections to where they are coming from to Germany. I have been to Hamburg many times and it has a beautiful center - however, comparing it to Munich, Berlin, Cologne, Nuremberg (Frankfurt if you like modern), or smaller cities like Heidelberg, Regensburg, Munster or Trier, is a laugh.
@@UlliStein No it is not - and I'm just saying. The number one tourist destination has been Heidelberg Castle, Neuschwanstein, Rothenburg Ob Der Tauber, Cologne Cathedral, Munich Frauenkirche, Alps, Dresden-Zwinger, Nuremberg Altstadt and Berlin, mainly Brandenburg Tor as the number one tourist item in that city. Sorry, but Hamburg comes afterwards mainly for it's two lakes, city hall and Concert Hall....again, saying
If you like ships, harbors, a beautiful concert hall and charming city center with two lakes, then Hamburg is for you. If you like castles, imposing cathedrals, traditional Germany fairy tale towns or cities with old medieval centers, then skip Hamburg.
Yes, it is ⚓❤️
Good question, short answer: Yes it is!
