True. I really enjoy people who act this way. Playing the game to have fun and spreading fun by being positive. One of the reasons i watch Thermy, because he also acts like this.
Great stuff as always. I sorta want to see you lose more than you do, you're always able to handle loses so gracefully which is a big inspiration. Would love to see some extra difficult challenges!
The protoss player's response to the first widowmines almost worked. If he'd have been just a little faster in targeting the second one he'd have gotten it killed before losing anything.
For the teleport in first argument, I have an idea. Build the starport at home, teleport halfway on the map, fly in and then hope the teleport cooldown expires by the time the HP goes too low. This way the starport can be built at home and the BCs gets there a little faster.
hey thermy - you should take a bit of time to remind people of actually liking and subscribing during your intro. idk how many of your daily watchers are actually liking and/or subscibed ... just telling you how i perceive it because i constantly forget this although i watch ALL of your videos as soon as i can and i really enjoy every one of them. i just keep forgetting it and the little animation thingy that everyone is putting in their videos is completely ignored because of banner-blindness.
Probably have to bend the rules a bit from now on. - Allow yourself to build a few more random units of various kind, just enough to mask the fact youre going "pots and pans to GM" and really.. WM is just another kind of siegetank
Obviously doing this every gsme would lead to being all-ined constantly, but i feel like you could definitely play a not so strict version of this in tournament and do well.
Ultras would’ve been really good, don’t even really need attack upgrades to kill mines n planetaries. The problem with ultras though is that they’re way harder to cover with the corrupters. Ultras will rush up to the turret wall/planetary and leave the corrupters behind making the Ultras easy yamato targets. Ultras also have a lot of armour, but bcs in enough numbers will still just blast the crap outta them.
@TheMuffinman191 yeah most difficult problem for zergs to solve had always been army composition to deal vs opponents so without preparation or experience it can be hard to counter even tho everyone knows what unit counters what ... gm from game 1 knows but still failed
@@rev9115 Exactly, plus its not like broodlords were a bad idea, they're just trickier to use. Hydras were a bad idea, but I understand why he chose them. Hydras hard counter mines if there is an overseer PLUS they shoot up. The problem with hydras is the cost. They're 50 gas A PIECE. Thats a lot of gas expenditure when you need to be making infestor corrupter. Especially for something that isn't going to kill the mines faster than the bcs can yamato and dip.
I don't really understand this couple of things that you do as a Pro Player: - I'm a SC2 beginner and even I use my BC until is low HP when at the enemy base, I never teleport a high HP BC. The amount of damage you can do until your HP start to be dangerous is amazing! - You never uses a Raven to clear creep, you usually use a lot of scans. That does not look like the best option economically, am I missing something? Thanks to anyone who answer.
You can teleport a high hp Battlecruiser when there are too many enemy units, you don't want to risk one dying just for killing one more unit. Also sometimes there is enough much damage you can do (tickling a few corruptors while not being able to macro at home is not a great trade). To your second point this is battlecruiser mine to grandmaster so I am simply not allowed to build Ravens :P
Zerg could have had 300 supply and it would still haven't have mattered.. I wish I would've seen what Serral/Raynor would've handled the situation. But for me, it looked so broken :))
8:15 I knew it! I'm not great at playing, but a great tactician. So I was like, "roach spotted, and weak hit by them... What counters roaches, mech, what counters mech, muta... Lair? Corruptors guaranteed. 8:15, knew it!"
I hate that UA-cam has taken all your new videos out of my recommended and put them in a dedicated StarCraft 2 section with a bunch of other creators I have never watched.
i have to partially disagree on hydras being the least efficient anti-BC unit because infestors can mushroom them so they get 50% damage from BCs instead of 100% making them brass cannons instead of glass ones. I really did dunk on my brother with this strat and wiped his 10 BCs with my 30 mushroomed hydras (accompanied by about 10 queens) pretty well. i'd say the worst unit you can make against BC not counting those which cannot hit air is muta. you literally DON'T have enough micro for that. even if you are uThermal.
The difference is that mutalisks can do harassment outside of directly fighting your army that hydras don't have, while hydras have are 100/50 vs 100/100 mutas their general utility is substantially lower.
@@chaotikkiller1617 harassment is something out of subject, i was only talking about direct engagement with BCs. for harassment, obviously, you opt for mutas if you know your opponent lacks spores/turrets/thors/whatnot. to literally destroy the BC itself, mutas are not cool. at all.
(I was the zerg here). Yeah Hydras SUCK vs. BCS, but I mean, I didn't know I was playing Thermy doing a challenge series. I've played vs. people who do BCS openers into Bio or Battle mech. So if you just have corruptors, you're kinda screwed because they can't target ground. So glad I was able to play thermy! :)
BS. Zerg had enough time to react instead he went for late game. An oversteer would have changed the balance. The mines destroyed the attacks. Without that the bcs would have gone. Zerg screwed the mid game.
in the early-mid game you can get rid of virtually infinite amount of mines using tanks and BCs are not as universal as you think they are. really countered by neural parasites, corruptors, mushroomed hydras, mass blink stalkers accompanied by tempests, and viking + raven combo makes BCs decease with ease not to mention how suboptimal this build is in regard of time of Marc having too few units compared to committed players who play normal the only reasons Marc wins are his skill and the fact almost everyone doesn't expect this to be the opponent so they adapt from scratch instead of making some easy decisions it's just you don't go hunting deer with RPG. you don't fight in tight flat blocks with molotov cocktails. every weapon has its use and the use is limited.
If you follow this challenge from the beginning, this build is weak to a fast and aggresive play. He lost several times and most of them from that kind of attack. I mean, Battlecruiser is hella expensive. While the mines are tricky to use and can be countered easily.
@@michaelbradley8209I don't play SC2 anymore, but I play other PvP online game. I got smacked by far better players several times there, but I don't care. I mean, if I lose, then it's simply because I'm not good enough and I'm not worthy of getting on a higher rank yet. It's just a regular game. Not a special tournament where only low skill level can join. For Thermy's case, it's not like he stays on lower rank for a long time either. So I don't see the problem here.
You always talk about being conservative with your scans, but you never use ravens. I wish you would do 5 marines 1 reaper and 1 raven as the base for all your challenges. just so we dont see you scan for every creep tumor or panic when fighting other stealth units and not having enough scans. I wouldnt even care if you use the energy if its just 1
This was me haha ;) Honored to play you bro, thanks for the game! :)

Next time it will be 4, so his SCVs could play a Star Strikers match x)
Mannn Ordin was fighting with tooth & nail. Insane
👍 Yeah. I thought he played very well.
Huge props to Ordin! One of the best games I've seen in the channel.
Thanks all! Knowing this was Thermy, i am SUPER happy with how I played haha.

Amazing episode, love seeing creative stuff on ladder :D
