Been using a zippo on and off for nearly 50 years and I NEVER realized the little hole in the bottom felt pad was for a spare flint. Great vid, thanks for posting!
It actually isn't for a spare flint. It's the fill hole. Newer ones don't have it "to help prevent over filling" due to years of people squeezing bottles until the fluid ran out over the sides. Last two Zippos I bought were terribly cheap quality. I used a leather punch and put the holes in them, but went back to an older Zippo due to horrendous evaporation rates in the newer ones from the crimping they added.

Cool Again Restoration, There appeared plenty of those lighters at flea markets all around ex-USSR right after it became ‘ex’, it was just cheap Zippo substitute for a buck and nothing else. In former USSR those symbols were considered sacred and I can’t believe such things could be made there at all, it would be a pure blasphemy.
Come up looking pretty good considering where it started. Definitely not a Soviet lighter. Given that it’s a Zippo knock off, the warning information and the cccp styling I would say it’s a Chinese knock off from around early 00’s to current.
