When I was little boy in Russia(1995), my father and I would go to the railyard to look at old mangled boxcars. Different ones, freight, my favorite were passenger cars, we would look at the damage then speculate on the survivability(him being a suregion) depending on placement.

I’m currently playing this on PS5 and have a love/hate relationship with it. My main issue is the track building appears to very fiddly compared how smooth you lay track on your video. I always end with lots of tunnels or inclines that cost me a fortune. I’ve now discovered the ‘show contours’ feature which makes it a lot easier but still has me doing a lot of trial and error that disrupts my flow. Once everything gels with me I don’t doubt I’ll get a lot out of this game. I’m just finding it has a steep learning curve despite tutorials that took me just under 2 hours to complete. Your coverage has helped me tbh and I’ll remain patient and persistent with it until it clicks.
1st day you went through tutorial, Mate the game just came out. I hope you do frequent videos. I will not complain about the decimal points either or the speed of locomotives!
@@GrandT but aside from the graphics, bigger stations and bigger bridges, has it actually changed much? Seems pretty much the same game. Nothing extra to manage? no extra challenge? Seems the same game with a facelift to me. Dont get me wrong, i pumped hours into the original - but i hoped for more management
@@petertomley1385 I'd have to get back to you on that once I've played more of the campaign. Personally, I wasn't expecting too much of a change to the management side - or the gameplay as a whole. And the things you listed were the improvements I was looking forward to most. The new staff management looks interesting, but I've not had chance to use it beyond the tutorial. Time will tell. :)

Judging from the steam reviews this game is exactly what I expected - barely even a sequel at all. Which is a shame. I very much like the UI changes though, much more readable
To each their own on the Steam front. For me it definitely feels like a sequel. There are some questionable design changes, but they're minor - and signals may be revisited. I love the new maps, station design and freedom of placement - along with a few more cross-over options for track building. And 19 scenarios (including the 5 campaign chapters) will have me playing for hours.

The route the tain takes though a station is strange when it cross over to the aposing track and then back to the track it was on when it entered the station.
I find this game has a similar vibe as Railroad Tycoon 2 & 3, and it is good. I am just a little annoyed by the warehouse mechanism, making goods flow awkward.
SALT - not loaded Hi all My company had difficulties with the transportation of salt from their deposits to the cities, the salt is stupidly not shipped to steam locomotives - they are waiting for loading indefinitely! I even bought salt enterprises - I increased the level of the enterprise and still - salt is not shipped at all Help - who knows how or what to do? or is it a bug?
so i just finished all the campaign's in railway empire, and really enjoyed it, thought i would watch a YT video on no2 and see what its like. as it was in the steam sale but still £37, only for you to say you was playing it via gamepass. im like What? so i paused the video and opened up the xbox app on my pc, to find it was there when doing a search. so Thanks for that little tip, you saved me £37 LOL now just to find out how you change the view mode when laying tracks would be nice.
Newspaper said Grasshopper reaches 15mph, clearly scripted, since you only ran John Bulls. I'm indifferent looking at this playthrough, any better than the last, I'm not convinced. And if you can't slow down the cab rides, then that's just silly, 21 mph looking like 221 mph.
It was more for the automated side of things, similar to how the original maintenance stations worked. There's now no way to dynamically pass and/or refuel/repair.
There's some odd terrain issues that I can't rectify currently. They show up in the next campaign episode for TpF2... so it's not related to just my Scottish map.
Reviews on Steam are overwhelmingly negative. I am not impressed, especially with how they have dumbed down RE2 from RE1. I won't be shelling out $50. Not a chance.
There has certainly been some strange design choices, not just the change to how signals are placed. I didn't get a free key, and I'm not disappointed with my purchase. I just hope they address some of the minor issues.
I want to thank you for the USA Map walkthrough from last year. I've been using your map and finally have delivered all six products to the towns that want them. I have, however, been using a good number of mods, esp for faster freight cars and steam locos. Cheers!
I cant for the life of me figure out what im doing wrong. I followed your video and did the EXACT same build. Every.step.of.the.way. however, i cant connect greenstop for the fucking life of me. I have this problem allll the bloody time. It says "this station cannot be reached from the previous station and therefore can not be added to the list" but I did connecr the rails. Just like you did with that triangle. I just cant figure out why it isnt working.
This happens to me occasionally. Usual culprits are missing grid irons at a station, missing signals (anywhere along the route), duplicate direction of travel or a gap in the track.
They have dumbed this down so much an im encountering bugs that make youbwonder how the hell they missed it, textures missing, carriage wheels not turning, super simple animations breaking. An lets not mention the lack of content an feeling of overwhelmingly amount of dlc thats will be on the way..

Warehouses are great to save money with I had one I had one in Boston and used it to supply Portland and Albany.

Is salt required by the city you're delivering to? Also check the train line isn't accidentally set to express.

There are plenty of positives. I'm not sure I've made any negative points [game play related]. Only observations of release bugs. Which still exist.

They'll only take carriages if there's something filling them.
