And another beautiful episode of Railway Empire. I myself still encounter a lot of bugs. I hope they fix it quickly. Keep it up GrandT
Thank you! :)
It's all about the trains, but you knew this. Engineer status campaign two complete. I also think the 2nd campaign was in your DLC. You got this GranT
This game looks so good!
Keep up the video's!
I wondered when I'd see RE2 on your channel. Can't say I'm surprised to see that it was "almost immediately". 👍
I don't agree with the crap this game is getting in Steam reviews (at least it was yesterday. I don't know about today.) RE is a game that didn't need reinventing. The formula works, and I like most of the minor changes they've made. I like the new personnel system, I like trains on the same line trying to space themselves out, and I really like hotels and being able to turn rural stations into passenger hubs. That was a great change, and it also makes mixed locomotives viable. I always used express/freight locos before. I didn't see a reason not to, but now I do, and that's a good thing. Also, in my campaign mission 1, I have a six-track bridge running out of Buffalo. I knew I'd like the bigger bridges and tunnels, and I wasn't wrong. The increased freedom with tracklaying is great.
The only thing I don't like so much is the automated signaling. There were a few things I liked to do with signals that I can't do anymore. Overall, though, I'm very happy with RE2. I've encountered a few graphical bugs on my ride-alongs, but they'll probably be sorted out by patches, so I don't care. The $70 CAD might not be worth it to someone who played RE1 and was only "meh" about it, but I think it's an excellent game. I'm looking forward to a new campaign, a bunch of new scenarios, and greatly improved maps for free play.
Yeah, some of the reviews seem overly harsh, to put it mildly. To each their own.
Just got this game and I love it your videos have helped me so much on getting started thank you 😊 big love for the uk
Well, there are somethings I like and don't like about the game. I like that you can add more locomotives by adjusting the # of trains. Double track feature seems like a good idea, why bother trying to double track them yourself. No more worrying about crew members and the free warehouses. Already 5hrs of watching gameplay, I'm almost sold, but they have so many glitches to fix "Whats the hold up!"
Great tip with the turnout to create a through train. I found I had to set a waypoint on both lines and edit my trains' routes; they didn't take the through lines automatically. Maybe it doesn't calculate it as being any quicker/shorter if the train wasn't due to stop at the next station, anyway? I don't know.
Just to let you know Grand: There's a 'Undo' [up to 10 actions/redo] and a 'Move It' mod in the TF2 Workshop!
Move it :O
Hey grand new to the channel and to RE2 im on xbox playing it and im having trouble with the campaign a lil bit its a learning curve for me but keep up the good work loving the videos
Thank you, and welcome aboard! :)
They said track laying has improved! Not! lol Signalling/track laying/mouse scrolling/tutorial/train sounds all needs work.
A bit like the first game! Looks like they [devs] haven't learned anything! lol
I'm 40:60 liking the game at the moment.
Good episode Grand!
Thank you :)
remember having grade higher than 2% is not a good idea try to wiggle your lines around contour of the terrain. I am having blast but this game does have few (very) issues but overall I give it 4/5
xbox game pass games on the computer, are the console versions of the game. Love your videos.
First I'd like to say I'm new to your channel and next I'd like to say thanks for helping me out allot hahaha somethings i was lost on and your helped me out allot. I never played the first game and I'm on xbox series x so that might be the reason why i never watched your videos you play allot of pc games. Thanks for the help and one more thing I'm glad someone told you how to say Bangor main it was killing me hahaha but i can see how someone could say it the way you was lol.
Welcome aboard! :)
@@GrandT thank you, I'm sure you're very busy it's rare that a creator stops by the comments and says hi.
That grass mate
can't believe they don't have island platforms, feels a bit like a step back from the last game even
thanks for the videos, i'm a new player to this series and idk what the hell is happening i always lose money, after i copied what you do in ep.1, my money just take off by itself somehow lol
Happy you found them useful! :)
🎉 I'm exided, new map from railway empire is now in Italy, 🎉
P.s. imagine build Milano Centrale Station
I added the extra lines at the end, like yourself but when I tried to put the gridiron on the Portland/ Bangor end it will only let me put 2 at a time and not all 4. Any tip there please? Also, smashin vids, being autistic I can listen and take in your commentaries, down to earth and no technical jargon or one of those comp. generated monotone voices (the humanity!!! lol). So cheers blue, keep 'em rolling.
Thank you Colin, and welcome aboard! As for the gridiron, the usual culprit is fake parallel tracks near the station. Keep an eye on the track cost information on the right of the screen, and ensure the costs are in Parallel Tracks rather than Tracks.
While I don't mention it on the channel, I'm also autistic. I only found out late in life (last year), as I was misdiagnosed with ADHD 32 years ago.
I reckon the Grasshopper was more popular BECAUSE it is slower.
Speed unnerves people that are not used to the concept. For us in the modern day, we're used to speed, even if we personally don't go very fast, we have rockets and supersonic aircraft and cars that travel at a good clip.
Back in the 1830's the fastest thing they'd really seen was horse and wagon, railroad was new and strange. Speed was scary.
Good point!
Build you.. 😂
I never played the first one I've played this one and love it though I've had to start new 3 times now, everything has to be precise and the game do we doesn't exactly tell you "how to" I even did the tutorials and still struggling especially with whare houses
I'll be covering warehousing in today's episode! :)
Really enjoying the series, can I ask for some help. First time playing this series and I keep having an issue where I have trains with triangles saying that either they have waited to load for 4 weeks or they left without cargo. I don’t know how to fix this, any suggestions?
Depending on the reason, you can ignore most if not all of them. I tend to leave them to grow into my network, as the demand isn't there for full load deliveries in the early game. As cities grow, those triangles vanish. While I don't like seeing the "Waiting for more than 4 weeks" stuff, at least I know my train is costing less to run, and making maximum profit (no fuel/maintenance/water etc costs while loading).
I like to have way more capacity than demand early on, as I can safely move on to a new area without having to check back too often.
I should add, that some trains waiting/leaving empty could be a result of not enough production from the industry. If that's an AI industry, you'll just need to wait for it to upgrade (waiting trains ensure the industry stays at 100% production) - if it's your own and you can afford it, you can upgrade it.
Hi Grand, with RE2 is there no longer a need for maintenance for loco's? I couldn't find any maintenance buildings or maintenance yards.
There is still a need for them. We'll be adding them in today's episode (along with warehouses).
Willy ou be continuing the TF2 campaign as i was enjoying your cringing
I have recorded the next episode, it's just stuck in the editing que - while I cover the first week of RE2's launch. It'll be continuing!
That's grand grand can't wait loving the re2 going see if it has keyboard and mouse support on Xbox tonight the controller controls are abit tricky
You were born on January 14th, 1830?
Boy you are wrinkly!
Looking ok for 193, if I may say so myself.
ooof... lips flaps on those talking heads is pretty bad as well >.-
Love the game.... but it feels like a DLC upgrade to the original. Better graphics, but simplified controls.
Overall NOT worth $59.99 :/
As an old-head fan of your channel, transport fever, i gotta say this game is shit with their signal placements. that ride-along did me no favors. honestly, why cant someone remake railroad tycoon 3? the game doesnt exist on steam. like, why is a railroad sim so difficult to nail?
The signaling was much better in the original. Hopefully they revert it, or at least give us the option to use the "classic" method.
@@GrandT you still never answered me about railroad tycoon 3 :P
