As a volunteer here I would like to thank all of the volunteers for helping to make this happen. I showed up about a year ago pertymutch unannounced willing to do what I can to help. Fish aren't the only things we rescue. I'm also a rescue I turn 73 on Saturday and the amount of trust they have in me and my skills surprise me sometimes. I can pay it back and forward to. My son thanked Big Rich for giving me purpose and my grandchildren swam in the monster pond and I'm honored to be a part of this team . thanks again to all of the fishy friends for your help making this happen
Great guy you are Jerry a wealth of knowledge on those pleas and plants ,fish❤️💚🙏🏻🇬🇧
Hello from England Jerry, you are part of the fixtures and fittings now!
Thanks for all your help jerry
@@joshpriceofr it's my pleasure
OFR is by far the best rescue channel anywhere in the world let alone internet , great work guys and dolls❤️💚🙏🏻🇬🇧
Thank you :)
I’m so glad you are able to be together as a family.
Way Josh presents videos is like presentation at a meeting. Very clear and.concise and informative. Like part your Dad was interviewed.
Ive already heard this info before but don't be daft, I'm not skipping the video! Not gonna miss the chance to see the fishies ❤
Thanks for that!
Josh’s vids get my hyped
I dread to think how much you spend on fuel to go on all the rescues. Well that's when Reaper remembers to fill the tank that is!😂😂😂
Plus the wear & tear on the vehicle must be crazy.
Good morning Josh and Bigrich.
Myself I wish to thank you for all the hard work you've done over the years.
You guys have a wonderful day. Play safe have fun. 😊😊
it´s for a good cause! i appriciate what you do!
Livin' the dream guys, rock on!!
You have worked hard for what you have and we all appreciate you sharing it with us I’ve been watching for 3 years and OFR has only got better and better keep it up guys lots of love to Tracey ❤love from London ❤
I absolutely love yall. Hope to see you soon. Keep up the solid work and stay fishy, my friends.
Great to hear from you bro!
You're good guys
Much appreciated!
It takes hard work dedication knowledge and skill to build what you guys have built and to achieve what you guys have achieved is amazing and not to mention all the animals and people you help you and your dad are legends great video josh 👍🐟👊💯
Thank you for always supporting 🙏
So like an comment because it really helps out!
Yes
You forgot to mention your tank and equipment sales. I bet those generate decent revenue as well. Overall though, the reality is you guys are on the line for a ton of money in order to help other people with their fish so I'm just glad you have ways of offsetting those costs. You also didn't mention the number of hours it takes to keep things running- that would add up to a lot as well! Keep up the good work!
You guys are doing something great for these fish that need rescuing. ❤
Thank you fore the video, good to repeat this time of time. Keep up the great work
Good Morning From Texas Stay Fishy 🇨🇱
That’s dedication!
Anything for this fish as I say😂
You Guy's are The Best, I Hope I Get The Chance To Visit You Guy's One Day Soon.
One day my friend!
Love what you guys do👍
stay fishy my friend... nice video.
Above all else a rehoming fee shows a level of willing and caremitment towards a fish as opposed to someone taking anything and everything home without being fully invested in it
❤ SFMF #TeamTracy ❤
hi, Josh, tyvm for all the great info :)
Great video as always!!
Right on.
Interesting! So Big Rich is a Jack of all trades and nothin’ came easy for these guys, meaning they weren’t born with a silver spoon in their mouths. That’s when you know success is truly earned with dedicated hard work, smarts and resourcefulness. Some wisdom for you kids out there considering the hobby.
are there any grants for "rescue" business to help
financially?
I would love to see and know more about big Richs comaro
There is a video posted exclusively about his Cameron on the channel
Great video Detroit
People don't get one of your most important contribution. Owners whose pet fish get's too big to care now have an option to send it to Ohio rescue rather than euthanizing it or releasing it in local waters.
i appreciate the transparency 👍🏻
I want to say God bless to you all!!! You’re taking other people’s responsibilities and making them your own. Thank you thank you thank you. People might think I’m weird but I love my fish as much as I love my dogs and take pride in their care. Lesson to all those people out there dying for monster fish… big fish equals big responsibilities. Please don’t get into it if you’re not committed for life. These guys and animals don’t deserve to have to clean up your messes
Thank you
Very cool to hear how big rich and Josh built the ohio fish rescue empire. I’ve always been curious and you’ve mentioned rentals a few times. Thank you for sharing!
You are all legend's for what you are doing there folks, very inspiring. keep up the good work and take care
Thank you! Will do!
Wow I had no idea joshy was a structural engineer
My favorite people 🥰
Excellent information vid.
@4:37 you pretty much need everything custom anyways for these monsters. Makes sense.
I couldn't imagine the electric bill my in3.5k a quarter
What prompted you to sell off the sturgeons?? Was it to help fund the rescue?
Sometimes we make dramatic decisions for various reasons. But in the end we try to do what's best for that fish. We happened to find the right cause
Just so you know how I found this video it was listed in the Google news feed as I was browsing that's how I came across it you definitely getting the word out there I subscribed you guys are really cool great thing you're doing for the fish
That is awesome! Welcome to the channel 💪
Love what you do, hows Betty is she ok
Yes :)
Nice
I understand about the income and adopted fee now days food 4 the fish and food 4 house can be expensive now
Yeah its unfortunate, we used to do free adoptions but with rising costs it was necessary to stay afloat
@@OhioFishRescue-com I know
I think adoption fees are good so the right people buy the fish and they don't end up back in OFR
@@voultronix761I totally agree I've been watching this channel for a while now and I've been watching it for about like 2-3 years and I see how some of them end up right back there and I feel so late not happy how some people do that so I agree with the fees you got to do what you got to do to make some type of living and my living I'm a caretaker it sucks it doesn't pay much
@jjjonesmadsen.jjm1987 yeah even saw a guy on the forum a few months ago say he's going to give his fish to OFR when it's too big. He lived 4 hours away and was buying stupidly big monster fish when he only had a 200G
I’d like to know more about your job as a structural engineer
I wouldn't mind adopting a fish or two for my basement pond.
❤
😊
How do I adopt a fish and do you send fish to other states or do I have to come to you?
It’s nobody business what you do
50k a year is alot for a home rescue for sure
100%
😊❤
I'm starting fresh
Hope you have fun!
👍👍
The merch store!!!! It's gift-giving season and you didn't promote the merch!
Multi tasking ceep it you too
How's the shark by the way?
Hey love what you guy’s are doing and I’m interested in adopting any South American Central American cichlids you have available for adoption
Hey there! Keep watch on our Facebook page that is where adoptions are posted! We have many south American cichlids
@@joshpriceofr what’s your facebook name so I can see your adoption’s please
Have you ever thought of selling excess fish you get rescued? Or fish tanks you don't have room for. That would help. I know there are always fish enthusiasts looking for fish, tanks, plants etc. I found for myself, that being a horder, worked against me to a disadvantage. As I know how easy it can be to get attached to nice fish and tanks etc. Eg. I never wanted to part with my good fish specimens. Less is always more I think in the end.
You would think being a structural engineer would help you keep the structure of your pants up Josh. Every time I see you now I think of that video 😂
That comes down to genetics. Thank my dad for giving me no A** lol
I would pay some good money to adopt some fish if interested
We post all of our adoptions to our Facebook page. Check it out
So you guys actually LIVE there at the fish house?
It's attached to our house yes
The haters will be angry at this video. Without the rescue lots of fish would be suffering in small tanks. If you didn’t like fish you would be reasonably wealthy having lots of holidays. You’re all awesome.
Let them hate brother, it only will give us more exposure. We'll put, without the rescue lots of fish wpuld be worse of. We will continue to support our mission 💜
Ignore the haters. They are only qualified to hate and legitimately comment if they set up a Rescue larger and bigger, and functions more effectively and efficiently than OFR. Otherwise, its just sound of distant dogs barking.
And anyway, whenever the haters troll, they add the numbers to Views, and writing their hate sermons, add to the Comments. Great for the youtube Algo. Counter responses from others will add to the numbers. Dumb Haters do contribute positively to the channel, although they do not intend to. 😅
How do we adopt a fish if we can is it only in-person adoption id be more then willing to payshipping I love every thing that you guys do and I want to do the same thing in massachusetts or something like a new england area sorry phones being stupid
You forgot to mention the merch you sell and the windfall of cash that blows in every month. 😜
Actually, I was kidding, but depending on how you're having your merch made up, maybe you are doing okay. I know that in my case, my Zazzle and T-Spring stores make tens of pennies for each sale. 🤣
Yea we literally don't make nothing from spring. There just too expensive.
Lol try it in the uk lmao your small tanks cost an arm and a leg over here
180gals go for well over £1000 most towns dont have larger than 4 ft few 5fts and 6fts in my town most my old tanks owned by mates I sold them to cheap
UK is a joke and an embarrassment. One of the riches countries in the world and it's people are struggling to live life because the country is f***ed
UK is weird. You guys can keep almost all tropical fish like snake heads but the cost and your small housing means only the rich can enjoy huge setups
@@voultronix761 yeah basically keep any fish we want there just all a rip off like for a dovii cost me a ton plus had to travel halfway across the country same with tanks to get a 180gal with half decent fish is stupid prices is litterally retired people or rich people with big tanks occasionally a steal comes but then you cant get it in the house if I want larger than 180gal I need window removing and reinstalling
Can you guys wife off your monthly costs as tax write off for the business?
Your amount of subscribers on youtube haven't been going up much in a while, have you guys ever had a strike on the channel? that really messes with the algorithm. If you have a strike there's a way to have it removed I've recently learned
No strike ever on our youtube, we're trying to figure out a solution, hopefully you'll see some positive changes going forward
Every platform goes through waves, they make changes, algorithm picks up on different things. It's up to creators to figure them out and adjust. We need to do better at that
@@joshpriceofr I know youtube is pretty complicated in that sense, hope you can figure it out so the channel can grow. Feels like you should have a lot more subscribers with the content you are putting out. Best of luck to you guys
@@piv9976 thank you!
do you raise enough money to cover that 4K a month? does selling the fish effect the 501c status at all? thanks for doing this video I have always wondered how you guys make it work financially. I have the passion to do something like this myself, but I don't think I could ever obtain the man power that you guys have.
Recently no, in the past we have
have 1 million dollars, then you can have a 1 million dollar aquarium.
This was built over 2 decades my friend. Comes with hard work and dedication
Or scam the Danish state out of billions like Sanjay who fled to Dubai. He was showing off his $1m aquarium in a UA-cam video I watched this morning.
@@OhioFishRescue-com UA-cam money probably helps a little?
Or learn to scuba dive and enjoy the majestic real-world coral reefs. As a scuba diver, I find it hard to be impressed by even the best, biggest and the grandest aquarium.@@lauralishes1
This was an OFR Behind the Scenes - in a way 🙂
whale fish
I've tried getting in touch many times to see if you have any peacock bass up for rehoming. Yall read it but don't respond. Love your channel and what you do but need to do better on answering people
All adoptions are posted weekly to our Facebook page. I don't have any peacock bass atm
There is a bot that reads messages so if you don't get through. Message again. It'll gwt bumped up top. Lots of messages for 2 guys to read through on all platforms. We do our best
As a volunteer here I would like to thank all of the volunteers for their time, effort and support. I showed up over a year ago pretty much unannounced willing to do what I could do to help...fish aren't the only thing that we rescue..I'm as much a rescue as my roommates are. I turn 73 on Saturday my son thanked Big Rich in person for giving me purpose and my grandchildren swam in the monster pond. The amount of trust they have in me and my skills surprise me. I will never be able to pay it back so I try to pay it forward.
Thanks again to all the fishy friends and volunteers for helping make this happen. HAVE A GREAT LIFE
A fish rescue at this scale can only happen in the richest country in the world (where money is not difficult to make). 😁
😉
honestly looking for red and black sword tails that is all we ever got in Canada now i can find one do you have them for sale ?????
Lol no
MUCH, MUCH RESPECT FOR Y'ALL GOD BLESS Y'ALL ENORMOUSLY and thanks for being an Pilar in this community 🫵🫵💪👍👍
