No Shaman / Paladin on opposing faction, GDKP implemented as an ingame loot rule, and updated version of the wow token that lets you buy them live in raid to bid against the other players with wow token value, store mounts and pets, transmog, store sets, level boosts. That's my SOM 2
Tauren paladins and dwarf shamans? Yes please! The only other things I'd want are for prot paladins to have a taunt and some better mana efficiency for all of the meme specs.
I get that the Classic dev team might not want to make any big changes like this to classic Era, but I think it should be totally fair game for a "SOM 2" or Classic Plus!
I mean if it was tbc talents it could work and remove the need to stack 7 or so consumes. Otherwise if you want to raid with shamans and paladins in vanilla era with vanilla based talents you will need 1 shaman per melee group and 5 paladins so heals would be limited to maybe 5 paladins, 4 shamans, 3priest+druids, compared to 5 of either with 7 priests+druids. Because without tbc talents you would still see alot of demand for heal shamans and paladins less for the other healing specs due to how essential wf was for dps as melee and mana issues. There wouldn't be as much demand for caster classes for ele as they would lack certain abilities in tbc talents, same with enhance, and ret. Thus it would be a squeezing of non-shaman and paladin healers as they would take more heal spots as you need in vanilla 1 resto per 4 rouges/warriors, and I think about 4-6 paladins with maybe 1 ret to keep judge of wis and nightfall up. They might allow more dps specs if the difficulty nerf with both sets of buffs available like it was for 2weeks, but that isn't something to count on, as players love to optimize stuff now and that's it in vanilla plus with no class restrictions and vanilla talents, I think I would guess resto shamans and heal paladins would squeeze out the other healers, due to how their buffs scale until you get about 5 of them and you only need 1 druid and 1 disc for their buffs. If it was mirrored classes with vanilla talents would prob go sm-ruin, if mirrored classes and tbc talents def enhance. Even so with wf/str and blessing allowing for more dps and more mit gear on tanks less healers than that might be needed as bosses would melt while doing less damage. But that is just a theory.
Why not make totem raid wide? One shaman for each totem just like one paladin for each buff. Make shaman/paladins have equal amount of threat reduction either buff/nerf one of them.
I really support the give shamys to alliance and pallies to horde And here is a second reason to do that Lets say they fix druid and pallys tanks You fix druids, good, You just double the tank numbers to BOTH factions You fix pally tank, You ONLY give more tanks to alliance, making server imbalance worst And pls, don't mention shamy tanks, thats a meme, and way harder to make it work
If you want real balance and not just argue for buff horde you need to touch racials, it’s widely accepted that horde have some of the best racials, both for pvp and for Pve throughput (just look at wrath how the top guilds are all going horde now), alliance have sword and mace skill on human which is good, but it doesn’t stack up to all the things horde has.

Great breakdown

wouldn't this just clog the healer role, you still are shoving shamans into groups regardless, the number of "required" raid spots just increases

When som 2??
nice deck bro
Balance that classes. We don't need a 3rd round of classic with warriors rogues and mages doing 3x the damage of the other classes. That is not fun.
Bring on the balance, the rated bgs and maybe new dungeons! insert some new things into the best version of wow. Please no bgs first week either!
We need the balance !!! .. Not some half-hearted measure please Blizzard. Bring on the classes for all.
I completely agree, we need the wow token to bring balance, please Blizzard listen to your players we need the wow token!
