Super silly question, I've recently upgraded my capture card to the elgato 4k X I would like to separate the game audio which is the "line in" on my goxlr to the rest of my audio with my goxlr/ obs, how would I do that? great tutorial buddy, I really need this for my youtube videos.
Off the top of my head,(I'd have to check) But You'd have to remove the "line in" from the stream mix in the goxlr routing table. (Keep it in the headphones so you can hear it) And then in OBS add the line in as its own Audio input source so it's seperate from all the other audio That way you'll be able to add filters etc to it without affecting anything else.. Hope that makes sense 😅
@ajsarsfield see that's what I thought, but their isn't a 'line in' in the rounting table there's only line out? So it's been tricky. I seriously think getting the wave xlr would solve most of my streaming issues haha!
so would you have a compresser and upwards compresser or replace replace compressor with upwards, currently I am use compressor, audio ducking and limiter
For the gameplay? I'd personally just do upwards conpressor & a limiter to keep it simple. You don't need both types of compression on that audio! Although! saying that, A light ducking setup paired with this could work well, if you managed to set up all the levels correctly! If you did that you wouldn't need your limiter to be as low! as the ducking would take care of the Loud noises when speaking... Worth testing out to see if you like it
@ajsarsfield thanks I have it set up right thanks to other videos of yours with is really appreciated brother this comment was more out of curiosity and thanks for the reply
This is an almost unrelated question but in my OBS my audio bar has -5 showing as in the red.. the red part of the bar is much bigger. I'm terminally freaking out because my voice comes to just under that frequently (Lord I have the worst voice I've been trying to balance it forever lol) .. I've had it drummed in to me that 'In the red is bad' but if I dont hit that point, folks can barely hear my stupidly low and husky voice. So.. is in to the red always bad? And why isn't your -5 in it?
Ah!!! I've made videos about this exact thing on my tiktok before..😅 Basically the setting you have on is kind of an overly "safe" setting.. which often ends up making people too quiet or scared to be loud.. Go into your settings in obs > find audio > scroll down to meters > and change it from sample peak to "true peak" instead That way the meter colours will be a bit more accurate! It doesn't change the volume or anything but it'll give you a better indication of what is too quiet or too loud 🥰
audio is always the biggest pain in the butt so thank you for this video!
I hope its useful!! 🤞
I know how much of a struggle audio can be, so hopefully I'll try and make more vids like this when I have time 😅
I discovered this channel the other day and it's a hidden gem. Thank you for uploading these videos!
Appreciate the kind words!! 🔥
Hopefully I'll have plenty more vids like this in the future 😅
Obviously there's nothing wrong with Audio Ducking
but I know some people dont like how that sounds, so this is a decent Alternative option! 🔥
Ngl idk why but I was literally telling myself I need to fix this like 3 days ago and bam I get this on my feed! Love it 😀
Great minds 🧠
😅
Can we talk about that Apex aim real quick? 👀🔥Great video and very helpful!
Haha!
Its only good 'cause I'm against bots 😅
I'm VERY out of practise, I need to start playing more games again 🤔
