I made this last Tuesday night and it was phenomenal! The lamb was so tender and delicious. Such a delicious and comforting meal on a cold day. I have a smaller instant pot so used 4lbs of lamb. I also seared the lamb prior to bringing it to pressure out of habit. Thank you for a wonderful recipe!
I made this with lamb meat that was already prepared for stew at the grocery store. It was to die for!!! The lamb was so tender and the flavor was incredible. Thank you!
Hi Dimitra mou . . . I am making this tonight in the Insta Pot but I cut the recipe in 1/2 for my daughter and me. I am going to add fresh string beans to it to give it that "Cypriot" influence. By what I mean is that my mom always cooked Fasoliaki me arnaki and this insta pot recipe might do the trick to soften that lamb sooner. Love you. I've been following you for several years and trying out many of your recipies.
Καλά Χριστούγεννα και Χρόνια Πολλά 🎄🎅💖 Dimitra, thank you so much for your amazing Greek cooking channel and especially for these Instant Pot series. I LOVE Greek food and I love cooking in my Instant Pot. I got mine just over a year ago and, just like you, had a few disasters at the beginning, but the more I practiced the more I understood its principles, and now I can adapt almost all traditional stew and soup recipes to be cooked in my IP. Please continue your wonderful work and keep adding more recipes to your Instant Pot series 🍜 🙏😊💝
Hi Dimitra i have a question I've bought lamb a few times from my butcher and other places and it always comes out tasting very gamey my wife and kids hate it any tips on the meat not being gamey.
Yes, that happens sometimes. Trim as much of the fat off as you can. That step alone will reduce the gaminess... Then, season well with a good amount of salt and garlic. Yo can also soak the meat in a vinegar solution and then rinse and pat dry right before cooking. Let me know if this helps :)
That looks amazing! I really enjoy your videos! I make instant pot cooking videos too. I’d love to connect and learn from one another. Thanks for sharing!
OMG!! This is my number 1️⃣ favorite dish!! Back when I was younger I always imagined my future husband saying when digging my stew “Will you marry me?” 😂 😑 Never happened! Men are awkward creatures! 🤷🏻♀️😅 There are a few things I do differently the reason I’m proud to say my lamb stew. 😇 If interested I will provide you with the recipe.
@@DimitrasDishes Aww.. what a delight!! It’d my pleasure if it should make other husbands pop the question out of the blue AGAIN!! 😅 My lamb stew is dense to begin.. rich and aromatic... here it goes... Lamb meat, with or without bones Potatoes Okras (optional) Tamarind paste Tomatoes, chopped Tomato paste Spices (salt, black pepper, turmeric, cinnamon, cloves, black lemon (or fresh lime juice), cardamom, ginger. 1 green chili Boiling water Onions, chopped and whole (To make other version just swap okras with pumpkin holding potatoes or add split yellow beans) Method.. Stirfry onions with oil Add tomato paste Lower heat to take time seasoning Add tomatoes, potato pieces, whole onion (you may cut a cross half way through the top so it’d bloom inside the pot), green chili cut in half or bruised, stir well Add meat, stir, cover Boil enough water to cover ingredients Prepare tamarind paste by adding a cup of lukewarm water over a piece of the paste about the size of a walnut (the more you add the thicker the broth becomes, richer and tangy) in a bowl and rub till you got all the goodness out of it, discard pips and skins and carefully add to the vegetables and meat Add hot boiling water, bring it to a boil over high heat heat, once boiling simmer for a half hour Add okras (the more the yummier), cook over low heat for 20 minutes... done. 🥰 If you can’t find tamarind, skip it but will lose half the flavor. Love ya.. much appreciated your sweet response. 💐🍃🦋

Love this recipe. This might be my Christmas dinner instead of Beef Wellington.

Looks really good. Could you do this recipe in an ordinary stewing pot but cooking it for much longer?
Yes, definitely. Follow this recipe except, leave out the orzo pasta and add the potatoes at the end instead :) Enjoy!
