Yes, I have done some work on Bucky as well. Mostly just gathering parts righ now. Once I get the FJ40 on the road, I will turn my attention to the FJ55.
What ended up happening with the distributor? Was it actually off 90 degrees from the original, and you had to adjust the rotor, or was it somehow correct? I have a '78 FJ55 that I want to get going and these tips are super helpful. Thanks!
I am just curious. My cousins father bought a 1970 FJ40-083890 LC, engine# F315227, brand new in 1970. He passed away 20 years ago and she kept it. It has ~18,000 original miles on it. It has been kept in garage it's entire existence and has original paint, no rust, great interior, everything works. It is just like it was when bought. Are these rare? Collectable? What would it be worth approximately? I am going to look at it tomorrow. Thank You for your time....
It's amazing how these old engines fire up with a little tlc! Good job!
Yes, I spent a little time today on it and I have it where it will fire right up :)
Any updates on the Piggy?

Yes it was off. I just made sure that the rotor pointed to the same one it pointed to in the old distributor and it cranked right up.

That sounds nice! Yes they are collectable. You can research their value on sites like Bring a Trailer and hagerty.com

Can you help me please. I ha a 73 fj55 but it spends water. The motor sounds good. Any idea what problem it has? Sorry for my bad English
What do you mean "it spends water"? Is it leaking water? If so, from where?
@@DirtDauberGarage it does not leak but i have to put water into the radiator every travel of 2 hours. thanks for replying
@@adrianchavez819 The water is going somewhere. Check your oil and see if it looks like milk. If it does, you probably have a blown head gasket.
@@DirtDauberGarage ok. Thanks for your help
