GUY I spent 18yrs sitting on J34 Westinghouse jet engine mounted on a tandem axle trailer here in Qld at Willowbank Raceway drag strip, obviously no afterburner as the out put goes into a ground facing trailer width fan shape that directs the heat to the ground. This is to do several things depending on the circumstances, either heat the track if its gotten cold after theres been an oil down or accident, to blow residual water off after other operations due to rain on the track, or blow the rice husk ash that is used to soak oil or coolant off the track after its been vacuumed up. Runs on unleaded fuel so that if theres a spill it evaporated fast, unlike other fuels that leave an oily residue. I wouldn’t run that jet engine over 650-750 degrees a 1,000 is way too hot. Even at 70% i only get to 750. Very jealous as I am retired mechanical engineer and have always wanted to build one, I have the equipment needed and hands on experience in fabrication. Great video would like to see some more. From Ipswich, Queensland, Australia.
Guy was once compared to Fred Dibner, a great old boy that made a career as a steeple jack. He's long since passed away but his climbing videos make my toes curl! Well worth a look if you're not familiar.
@@theboycalledleaf Oh Very Familiar with Fred, a real legend of a man, and yes I struggle to watch his climbing videos gives me the fear just watching, very talented man with an incredible enthusiasm for engineering history.
This was how the touring cars guys got over turbo lag in corners. That was back in the days of Siera cosworths. They were all at it. Firing fuel into the chamber when off boost. That gave them full boost instantly out of the corners. Was great to watch. Until it all got banned. Steve.
It's not particularly powerful in the general scheme of things, I don't think they mention the figures but a gas turbine of about a quarter of the size would power a boat.
The nozzle geometry probably wasn't optimal and I'm not sure how hard they were pushing it - but jets of this basic design are genuine engines and can produce usable thrust. Plenty of turbocharger jet go-karts on UA-cam if you want to see one pushing a vehicle. Also, that looks like a welding table - they're very heavy and not at all flimsy. If the wheel brakes were on it would take a good bit of thrust to make it slide along.
how about compounding 3 turbos in series to rise compression ratio much much higher, like in real jet engine... Then you can burn much more fuel, and make much more thrust.... afterburner is bit tricky with that kind of design, it may make easily too much pressure to nozzle... But finely built thing!...
Hmmm... ive got a spare turbo, i have a full tank of sheilding gas and a full spool of .030 wire. You know what that means? That means im going to have to apologize to my neighbors in the very near future.

Proper job that guy😂
His joy and enthusiasm for anything mechanical is brilliant, top bloke.
Colin Furze and Guy need to get together
And make babies.

Pretty sure this is prohibited on some Official level. They'd take over the world in a skinny minute! It needs to happen.

Just love Guy Martin he is the real deal and making a jet engine in the garage is fan flipping tastic !
Guy, makes understanding fun. Let's get him a million subscribers
What a boy! Great stuff. Britain needs more people like Guy 👍
I just can’t help laughing when he smiles and does that chuckle 😂😂😂
Nice to see the wheel mounted bench never went through the back wall of the shed
Best shed heater he’s got
Love Guy he's a top bloke.
What a lad! You can't help but love this guy,l 😂
I love that he tested this on a bench with wheels. I know they have their brakes on but just shows zero fucks given. excellent!!
Now to strap it to a push bike 👍
😂😂😂😂
is it Furzeday already?
Drift trike
Furze has yet to make a pulse jet TukTuk...just saying, it's still up for grabs.
Good to see the Britten motorcycle painted on the wall
Absolutely brilliant.
He’s a true mad lad 👍
Quality brakes on that table. I was expecting it to be through the back wall.
Great video!
I just love Guy! He's such a down-to-earth bloke, "one of the lads", really likeable!
Excellent again thanks, greetings from the Isle of man, still missing you over here, thanks dude Paul ❤🎉🎉🎉😮😮😮😮😅😊
Bloody brilliant lad 👍🏼
Just subscribed to your channel Guy ! Followed you for years from Australia 🇦🇺
Guy needs to do a mad scientist build with Colin furze.. summing mental but fast 👌
It's nice this looney videos his madness for us 😂 gotta love guy 💪🏽✌🏽🏴
Just Awesome love it

Steve.
I wish I could see all episodes somehow in Finland without VPN
I love that Guy is like a weather man saying, "Well, the clouds don't want to let too much air in so the wind is blowing quite hard..."
Get-R-Done 👍🏼
It's what I like to see 🔥👀 🔥
Outstanding. put it or strap it to go cart or shopping trolley proper
Cool. How comes the Jet Engine table on wheels, did not roll forwards?
His neighbours must love him
I’m short of a new heater for the workshop 😂😂
How come it’s on a bench with wheels but it never moved. I thought it would need strapping down?Your neighbours must love you. 😂🤣👍🏻

I really want a collab with Martin and Hydraulic Press Channel. Won’t be able to understand either one but should be a good time.
Throw in Colin Furze for the Holy Trinity.
It's a nice flamethrower, but can it make any thrust? That flimsy table on wheels didn't move at all.

Will we be assessing the thrust that this beaut can produce?
Is anyone else confused that it was on wheels but didn't move ??
My guess would be that the neighbours are used to the shenanigans that occur next door.
If it was me I would be mad that he never invited me
Ooooo that’s a big turbo!
Awesomeness!!
Awesome
Only thing I'm surprised about is why didn't the thrust push that trolley the whole thing appeared to be built on 😮
Now make a pulse jet that can power a bike . . . no, wait, that's been done before.
All you need to do now is put it on (in) a bike or a car, that would be amazing
Put it on the volvo!! 😅

thats one hellever space heater
Perfect for striping the paint off your front door
Or cooking sausages
Can't lie, want 1 😂
News flash. That is not a shed 🤣
Hmmm... ive got a spare turbo, i have a full tank of sheilding gas and a full spool of .030 wire.

Something about the noise of a jet engine.
now what bike too fit it to
Its a suck squeeze bang blow, just a noisy version.
Physics is fun.
Fucking awesome ❤
I stupidly assumed that bench was bolted to the floor.
Why didn’t the table it was mounted on rocket forward
Fuckin' brilliant!
"Bob Lazar" has just joined the chat. 🙂
Stick it on to the busa.
Building it in his shed, from scraps?.... 😂😂
Sir Frank Whittle was looking down on you Guy!.
I can hear Anankin in his pod racer. IT'S WORKING!
You made no manifolds..
build a pulse engine
кумеднаавтозапчастьдоровера вари точками поотім заточками точками
electric powered vehicles just don't push the buttons the same way do they... new land speed record being set on two wheels soon then ?😅
I love everything Guy Martin does I just can't watch the programmes, the voice over guy irritates me so much I have to turn it off.
Just think, if he'd won a tt he wouldn't be pursuing this nonsense.
Yes dear, of course it's necessary/safe/money saving for Coffee making/heating/hair drying
I could dry socks and sea caught fish?
Absolutely brilliant
