I'm new to that comparator circuit. Its kicking my ass currently. OP AMP seems to be blown. I subbed an LF353... also a jfet opamp (ordered some TI TL072's from Mouser to eventually keep it all as original as possible). But that 353 also too acted like it was blown and the pedal was stuck on overdrive (RED) (pedal button did nothing) , but the J112 isn't letting the overdrive signal through... Seems like one thing blowing may have taken out a couple things. Gonna remove a few things and rebuild it in blocks and verify I know what's what.
I think the switch has gone bad on my Real Tube and I'm not sure what to replace it with. Is it possible to find that switch somewhere or does it need to be replaced with something else?
It's a momentary SPST. I didn't remove the switch from the enclosure so I'll have to look at how it is mounted. But first you're going to want to check the switch for continuity when it's pressed as it could just be a broken wire or bad solder joint.
Hi there from Australia - love you clips!! I am a newbee to electronics and pedal building. Is it possible to purchase a PCB from you? The one that is associated with THIS clip (with a 12ax7) . Kindness - Denis
I'm going to make sure that it works well first. I'm still waiting for some parts. Once the PCB is verified I may release it. However, if it's excessively noisy, I'll have to redesign it.
@@dingeralan8911 yeah, I tore it down, cleaned it out, removed the switches. I tried shorting them and leaving them out. It still flips the patches. I think it's a pull up resistor that is missing or bad but they are all surface mount so I'm going to need to find a schematic to track it down.

Where did you get the schematic
It came with the pedal.

Many thanks - I really enjoy your 'clips' very inspiring. Greatly appreciated. Kindness - Denis Bowman
@@denis7868 would you be interested in just downloading the Eagle files and then buying the PCBs from oshpark?
That was me .. tube preamp
I should have an extra PCB for ya.
@@HomespunEffects woah! .. any news on my frankenpedal lol. LMK how much to send ya . Ty
@@dingeralan8911 I'm still checking for a schematic. I may just have to start replacing parts. 😄
@@HomespunEffects prolly start with switches lol
