Any posibility of get an e-mail or phone number of Monica Jaskolowski? My name is Lisandro Jaskolowski, I'm from Argentina and I would like to know that person because I think that last name is not very common in the world. I would apreciate any help to contact her. Thanks and greetings to all the awesome AVGN comunity.
I said this on facebook but I've been leaning on the AVGN show as of late because of depression until my new meds start kicking in. Thank you Nerd for brightening up my last couple of weeks.
This episode was pretty terrifying, almost as terrifying as having your unencrypted private data being harvested by hackers, governments, and corporations.

@@saveourplanet0139 I know I’m just playing along
What's really scary about this episode is the lack of music.
When the video started the music sounded like he was doing a paranormal investigation series. But later on the music just became completely silent. I think that's what horror movies are missing, no music sometimes disturbs people. But most horror movies prefer to use Erie music to "scare" you.
Also no jump scares. It's better to build up tension then actually just go for the typical FNAF jump scare. (Except there was a jump scare at the end, but that's besides the point)
I feel like the jumpscare at the end was deserved after all the atmosphere and small little things he did to just make it horror without all of the cheap scares.
The end jumpscare actually made me punch the screen of my phone.
The part where AVGN hits the Polybius cabinet while trying to get help kinda works as a jumpscares. It's unexpected and sorta loud but there is nothing scary about it so it keeps the mood going.
Jumpscares, when used properly, are actually pretty effective. The problem is a lot of badly done horror tends to rely too heavily on them so they loose their effectiveness.

Can we all talk about how much of an amazing actor James Rolfe is?
Amazing in what way? He's very unnatural in most situations. He's good at being angry nerd, that's for sure. But everything else - not so much. Except Board James episode about DreamPhone Killer on how was it called - that was his best performance in my opinion.
And yes, I'm an actor myself, so I can judge.

Polybius appeared in the background in the Void, in the show Loki recently which I thought was a cool Easter Egg. The Void is where they send everything that wasn't supposed to exist in the timeline so it makes sense.
My head canon is that Polybius machine and the one from this Nerd episode are the same, meaning the AVGN is canon in the Marvel Multiverse.

Something small that I really love about this episode is how James is narrating the intro in a very unique way, as though he's playing a documenteer eager to learn more about Polybius than the Nerd himself.
Out of all the psychological horror films that James has produced, this one takes the cake for being the most scary. It's followed very closely by both The Head Incident and The Head Returns.
A real Polybius machine would probably have the LJN rainbow on the cabinet.

THE HORROR
after polybius LJN took an oath to do only bad games, that no one would suffer. After that they exchanged the remnants of the soul for the ability to make shitty games.
And in an alternate universe. We start the episode saying that no one should ever play the shit game polybius and that we're going to go see gameplay of the legendary and rare dr.jekyl and mr hyde
After seeing someone do a pretty easy walkthrough of Jekyll and Hyde... I have to say, that game is nowhere as terribly hard as James made it out to be.
18:38 that was really really creepy
I like how near the end he turns from AVGN to James
One of the many great things about this episode is getting to see the Nerd not start an episode already screaming in anger. I missed those days.
He's gradually left the "Angry" part behind which is disappointing because that's what made these episodes so great. For a bit he kept it up but I think he found it hard to be angry without manufacturing it too much. I think it also has something to do with the fact that he covered most of the games that frustrated him in his childhood where most of his pent up rage came from.
Very true. AVGN was often far calmer than you'd think.
You need to make a AVGN youtube poop.
Zal Animate Interesting idea...

The subtle ways he shows him going mad is just plain brilliance.

Preach! Would love to see James do an 'Evil Dead' esque movie
Very strange fact: by plugging "Dr.Jekyl and Mr. Hyde" into the Polybius square, the title oddly decodes into a most strange title; "Polybius 2: The Revenge"....
Got to commend James's acting and directing. This isn't just jokes anymore, actually shows some great talent.
James should honestly be a horror movie director hes so talented when it comes to this stuff he could make some of the best horror movies with the right budget

So, essentially, Polybius is a creepypasta that's an amalgamation of true stories that were twisted to fit the story. That's interesting.
That's just a description of how humans think though. Humans are incapable of original ideas; every possible thought, fantasy and daydream that can form in your head are based on things you have previously been exposed to.
This applies to every work of fiction, every piece of art and every product humanity has ever produced.
