If you do make sure you grind for awhile pleaase lol if you don't you will easily get one shot in merciless, I was getting one shot at like lvl 74 when i first tried merciless
He’s tough it’s mostly his health pool that makes it difficult as there’s a higher chance you’ll burn through SP way before he goes down to half unless you have soul thief and some ailments to use

Good job for you. Me personnaly, I still can't beat the Painfull Past+ request for the final boss, and I left the game around one month ago. I should retry one day.
I have yet to face him on normal, but this fight exemplifies my main issue with this game. Every boss is basically a massive bullet sponge and takes like no damage. Also SP items are sorta hard to come by
@@ridingatractor7616 I mean, I found it easy until post game, since you can’t go into shops, and Sophie’s shop takes a while to refresh. Plus there’s limited SP cooking items
i finally worked up the courage to beat the reaper on merciless... after three tries. i watched this video and realized that i was using my sp wayyy too sparingly. but now its done.

I just fought him for the first time, and after the first 6-7 lullabys didn't connect I assumed he was immune to ailments like sleep and dizzy and beat on him for like 25 minutes. It's an incredibly messy fight, I had 3 strong shadows next to him at one point and was still trying to dodge. Physical attacks helped a lot and I used a couple showtime items (in total I got two showtimes with item help, but they really didn't do much), but it was still stupidly hard. Every party member ran out of sp multiple times and I used about 20 reviving items + a bunch of samarecarms and 1-2 salvation. I got two burns during the fight while using mara to tank gun attacks, and used wind/nuke magic when that happened, but I didn't even blow through 2 down gauge points with it. It is possible it's just a goddamn nightmare

This just shows how strong the reaper is and how quickly im gonna get my face caved in
This is merciless btw so hes like lv 99 and maxed stats and you take even more damage

It’s not so hard if you have tons of sp items and a decent persona lineup

Nah the sp items are actually super easy to get

When you're not forced into mashing skills due to merciless being absurd it does a pretty good job at the latter
