I wish I had a social media presence where I could share these videos, and somebody would actually watch, but I sure appreciate Paul passing on the hard earned knowledge. 👍
It is just lovely that you had insurance for your boats but if you ever go foreign even Lloyd's won't insure a single hander. I never needed to show insurance in over twelve years, but then I anchored out ninety percent of the time. But when I did go into a marina, west coast, they never asked for insurance.
Hagerty turned me down the guy said I didn't know how to drive a 36 foot boat wtf......after I owned it 3 years and before that I owned a 20 foot bayliner for years, I guess that don't count
I'll likely be in the position of needing a captain on board, so my question is: for how long? At what point would the insurance company be ok with me going out without the captain?
Looking to simply live on a large houseboat at dock in a marina - (not take out) with little experience driving boats as just wanting to liveaboard... any advice?

Like hearing insurance stories which is why I got into doing yacht insurance a year ago. Plan is to continue this line of work as we move aboard.
Thanks Guys
Yep, extended cruiser is the right terminology.
Extra endorsements is the term you are looking for. Those are additional items that are covered separately.
Thank you 🙏🏻
Thanks for the info. It is appreciated. Also, are you a faithful Rainbow Ruby viewer?😁

My ski and wake boats are an agreed value policy. Progressive can be okay.
Any insurance company can be okay until you have to file a claim. Then you find out how good they are.
Thank you 🙏🏻

Every situation is different all depends, But I would say it took me about 200 hours of the Loop to get very comfortable with mine
Paul....what kind of liability insurance do most marinas require($100,000, $1,000,000, or more???)
We have 300K and have had no problems, but 500K seems to be where some of the marinas require

Stay away from the coast go to an inland lake and the sewer system will have to be delt with as well
