That 290k is a historic number of ballots turned in on the day of the election and I blame the ballot box watchers intimidating voters. I am thinking people chose to turn them in (in person) rather then risk running into these box watchers taking pictures of them and their license plates to later be harassed.
If that prediction is true, that could actually be a Democratic leaning vote.
Those harassers should have been arrested, not just made to

He is remarkable. Everybody appreciates all the work he puts into his "time on air." Also, hard to find the details he can give us in any other place.
You can simply watch the vote count for the same details and use deductive math and reasoning to come to the same conclusions. Common sense. I can do it with a 40 dollar throwaway phone, or an updated vote count from an fm radio+a mere pencil and piece of paper 📝. It's pretty neat, you should try it some time. And incredibly easy.

New York's gerrymandered map gets thrown out but DeSanctimonious gerrymandered map gets through, southern states like Alabama (perhaps it was Mississippi) gerrymandered map is in place? Not very fair are the southern judges. "You can't gerrymander but we can." 🙄
I agree, New York may well cost Democrats the House. It's definitely ridiculous that states like Florida and Alabama can gerrymander their districts to rig the system, but not in New York. I'd love to see who appointed the judge who decided that case.😡😡

I’m in Illinois, and I saw commentary complimenting the Illinois Democratic Party for its successful gerrymandering to counter those southern states (and Wisconsin), they drew a 14-3 congressional map. Personally I don’t like the extreme gerrymandering, whichever side is engaging in it, but that can only be stopped by Congress.

Because of this Republican judge who threw out the Democrat's map I who live in NYC before the redistricting was in what was a Democratic district, after the redistricting , we were lumped in with heavily Republican Nassau county and my district flipped and an absolute moron was elected to the House.

I can't mention everything, but if you're interested, there are tons of videos on UA-cam, where Americans react to videos from Germany (in English)and also many channels of Americans living in Germany, where they talk about their experience here. I've learned to be much more grateful to live here, honestly.

And our public transportation system is better than you could ever imagine. Oh, I forgot. The tuition fee is for 6 MONTHS. So we pay about 1000 € for the whole year. What about America?

Interesting that on Wednesday night in Washoe county cameras went dark at 11:00 pm until 8:00 am, and the next day gap between Laxalt and Masto shrunk dramatically.
I try not to pay attention to whatever that miserable wretch was squawking, but I'm pretty sure one of Kari Lake's big things was "make sure you go inside and submit your ballot that way "they" can't steal your vote." Makes it tough to imagine that a lot of her supporters went and dropped their ballot in the exterior box.

I'm Dutch and like to follow US politics, and compared to loads of them, it's really a great podcast and since e being born in 1978 myself, brings you back to that 80s and 90s feeling of what was going on in the world and of course the US

If it makes anyone feel better, I dropped off my very blue early ballot in a drop box on election day in Maricopa county. I didn't want to mess with any idiots at the drop boxes earlier in the voting period. I have received notice that it was received, but not that it has been counted yet.

It seems very possible that the ballot box watchers that were out watching the early drops pushed more people to wait until election day to drop their ballot instead. So possibly, more Democrat-voters just held them until it was safer to drop on election day.
Cortez-Masto may indeed pull this off. I'm feeling more optimistic.
And with 290,000 votes left to count in AZ, Kelly looks good too with a lead of 115,000. Hobbs' lead is vulnerable though.

The Nevada final result is much hard to predict and it could be a very close finish , I don't know when it was that someone won an election by just one vote but it is always possible .

Knowing how they were all waiting till election day to vote, I deliberately dropped my ballot and my neighbors in the box at 6pm on election night. We are libs but have voted straight blue since Trump arrived on the scene. I am hoping that others did similar in AZ

Steve Kornacki is great! He is one of democracy's fiercest cheer leaders. He is sooo much fun to watch, and learn from! He's what good teaching is all about. In this case he's teaching us about voting dynamics and letting the denouement unfold without biased commentary.
The messed up thing is that Kari Lake has been on the local news on Fox 10, for 20+ years. To many Arizonans, she has been a part of their evenings for decades, and they feel they can trust her. Lake is very good at speaking in that soothing newscaster voice, where she sounds like she is being truthful, instead of the lying crazy person that she is.🤪😵🥴

No matter how long it takes. count every vote! In my state, Maryland, they are also still counting mail-in, drop-off, provisional, and overseas ballots. You won't hear about it in the news because all of our state-wide races were decided by large enough margins to be called on election night. We only have one congressional race which is still undecided.
Dems will win AZ senate seat and NV is looking possible. Now let's hope Warnock wins in GA.
