Batman’s a scientist
Conan played a fundamental part in the sense of humor of my generation.
The more I researched him the more I realized how integral to my childhood humor he was when I was growing up in the 90s and 2000s. I dont watch him as much anymore but he will always be in my top 5 favorite celebrities of all time

Not jut the writing, but the stellar delivery of Phil Hartman - it all came together for this one.
Mono means one and Rail means rail.
Next line was the genius bit - this was representing the "average Americans"
The next section shows how they try and use flattery and other techniques to deflect good questions and find the easy idiotic ones.
That joke has Swartzwelder written all over it.

John Schwartzweler and Conan wrote some of the most insanely genius and geniune insanity in TV history. So many classic episodes have their fingerprints all over them.

Conan automatically reached legendary status in my mind when I found out, years ago, that he was (largely) responsible for this episode. Certainly in my top five Simpsons episodes of all time. It may even be number one.

Conan is a comedy legend that the mainstream powers did dirty. It's one thing to be a comedy writer, it's another to be included in the golden age of Simpsons writing.
That episode has stayed with me my whole life.
Marge vs. the Monorail is by far one of the most memorable episodes. Not even sure why, watched it 6 months ago for the first time in probably 20 years and it was still great. I reckon a lot of us had it on VHS, we certainly did.
Just when I thought it wasn't possible to love Conan any more than I already do.

I still think Marge Vs. the Monorail might be my favourite episode of all time. I have loved many episodes (quite a lot from Season 11 onwards) but this is the one I go back to every time.
No shocker there, it is considered the best episode by most people for a reason lol.
Monorail is one of my all time favourite Simpsons episodes, thank you, and sorry for all of us for continuously bothering you about it's greatness.

the monorail reminded me of the many smal ltowns in america i have seen and been to on my life travels, i think soem how soem where we all have a monorail in our hearts,

It's a great episode, but there's a long list of potential 'greatest episodes' and this one is not necessarily at the top.

Liked this a lot... loved that you're one of the few UA-cam things I've watched that didn't have me racing for the volume at the beginning or end so your theme music doesn't wake up the entire house here. That was a great episode though, he should be proud.
Without question, the best writer on that show was whoever it was that came up with the "Mr. Snrub" bit in that episode...

Conan is one of the few celebrities whom I would be absolutely devasted if I were to hear allegations of misconduct about him. He's phenomenally admirable.
We had The Simpsons on TV regularly in my native country back in the late 80s and throughout the 90s, and I loved it. I've heard it's not so funny now though.
