DEM9271 It's been quite a while since I've played, but to the best of my knowledge you can make more money by doing LONGER trade runs, which requires going further out of the galaxy. I'm not sure if doing the same length trade runs, but further out of the galaxy, will make you more money. Having said that, if you go further out of the galaxy there are much more opportunities for making money from exploration alongside trade, which my friend ***** tells me is very very profitable.
Quacktics are Go +DEM9271 not as profitable as trading sadly, good way to make money early on if you want to see cool stuff but don't want to get your head around numbers.Best thing to do is keep track of anywhere that is selling things a good amount under galactic average or buying a good amount above it, then find somewhere to buy and sell for profit, it'll take a while but if you need help with it www.reddit.com/r/EliteTraders should give some more insight. also, further in to the galaxy is a bad idea, most of it is empty and the stations are few and far between, head between populated systems and try and find systems that have a few stations. spend a little while and set up a spread sheet, worked for me ;) made around 5mil in as many hours
Quacktics are Go...when you arrive to the EREVATE star, you say I'll choose Cleve Hub because it's closer, but if you look at the panel EREVATE 1 is closer, why do you choose Cleve Hub ?? I'm a newbie
Erevate 1 is a planet, not a station, so I would be unable to sell my cargo there. Another point, I tend to prefer traveling to large stations instead of small outposts because sometimes the outposts don't sell fuel.
+Quacktics are Go 2 questions if u dont mind. When u open the panel, how do you know which one is a station and/or a planet? and how do you know which one is a large station and not a small outpost.
Bernard Saavedra The planets have a circular emblem,D the stations have either a hexagonal shape or a circle with another circle in the middle with a rectangle in the middle of that. Outposts have an odd TV ariel looking symbol.
I played this game on the BBC Micro and ZX Spectrum all those years ago, even played the equals too, finally in a position to buy this version and have spent some time trying to find just a basic step by step getting started tutorial on trading, just cannot find one. Even after watching this I am still none the wiser, this one has left me just as baffled. Now one seems to just do a very basic 101 guide everyone starts talking about aspects of the game, and clicking options to put colourful lines on the screen. Most frustrating.
I am planning on updating this tutorial in the near future to include the use of tools such as Elite Trading Tool. When I do I'll definitely keep that in mind. Thank you for the feedback!
djearthstu Yeah, they've changed the menus quite a lot since this video went up, they take a bit of getting used to but they're fundamentally the same.
@@TheElvenKeys lol didn't say it wasn't possible. Just said I couldn't get it to work. Got to a point in the tutorial and I didnt know what to do and it wasn't telling me. Just had a frustrating moment. It definitely has a learning curve.
When leaving or entering a station stay on the side with the green lights to avoid oncoming traffic collisions ;)

This video is really out of date and honestly, I agree that didn't explain things as clearly as I could have.
