- In this video I have a look at a customers Dodge Avenger with the big 2.4 that has a customer complaint of the gas cap light being on as well as a complaint of a bad bearing noise coming from the front wheels. It ends up being a text book repair for both.

This smoke in Detroit reminds me of the good old days, the factory’s and foundry’s were rolling, burning that mountain coal. We were all driving Detroit Iron made with Pennsylvania steel.

Over 200 fires burning in Canada. We have the same smoke issue in Michigan. It's terrible on top of allergies and asthma. Nice easy job Mr O.

My Avenger flooded too many times from that drain being clogged. Took me forever to figure out why that happened....wish this video had been out 5 years ago. Fantastic work as always.

You can now see what we folks in Washington State have gone thru the last few years. That is a pretty light smoke compared to what we typically go thru here. Several days the visibility here was down to under 500 ft. I found a good quality mask & filters really help .If you can afford it, a full face one is the best way to go. That way the eyes don't look like raw meat from being out in the air.
TYVM Eric for the funny and flashback filled video, took me back to our horrific nationwide bushfire season of 2020 when my whole beautiful country was ablaze. Please keep healthy mate, we see on TV how bad those fires are so I hope you the lovely Mrs O and family and animals stay safe.

Eric, as far as I am concerned, you and Rain Man Ray here in Fl, are the 2 best at Diagnosing/fixing todays modern vehicles! He who can't laugh at himself once in a while is wound up to tight! You are a genius! Does Mrs O. help to keep you grounded on those tough days as all of us married guys sometimes need someone to talk to when that problem vehicle drives you nuts!
I recently replaced the left front bearing on my van. No play on any wheel and no noise at low speed but from the change of noise when steering it was obviously on the front left.
Next, i changed the right front and the noise went away.😢

Lately, I have to put them on the lift and run them to isolate them. Going by driving them, seems like I pick the wrong one.
@@mph5896 That would be fine, if I had a lift. Wouldn't have been so bad if they came off as easily as these but mine are held from behind by a (rusted in) circlip so the complete assembly had to be removed.
Smoothest wheel bearing job I have ever seen On The channel Eric O them bolts came loose like Butter oh okay hub not coming off easy there it is what we used to seeing @South Main Auto Repair LLC

Gotta love those "Uni-bearings" that fail way too early. Great evap diag and repair. My only pet peeve is removing hub/wheel caps and laying them down "good side down". Never could understand that in shops.
Free Tip Friday: Dollar Tree sells plant hanger “S” hooks that will do the same job as those special caliper hanger hooks for only $1.25 a package. Not quite as heavy duty as Eric’s, but work the same….

Just had to fix my daughter's 2010 Avenger throwing EVAP codes. Found a few leaks in the plastic line where it rubs against the trans cable. Simple fix for a Chrysler for once. The ball joints were a pain to do without the special cup for the lower. Love the channel.
Washington State had some smoke from Canada too about a month ago and it I think lasted about 24-48 Hrs and it was gone. We get their smoke as well as the smoke from California, Oregon and here too. May is typically the bigger smoke situation is in the spring from what I understand up there, but ours comes later in the summer. A couple of years ago, it was really bad.
Otherwise, a good video in the ol' evap situation on a Chrysler.

I have been using dorman Esim switches as of late. $20😂. Factory one don’t come with the o ring for $50. I also started using wd40 for its amazing penetrating qualities 😘

I was looking at satellite loops yesterday, and have never seen the smoke plumes quite that bad, even when the fires on the west coast were raging. We even have bad haze down here in Tennessee. Hope Canada gets a handle on that soon.

I did the ESIM on my T&C minivan. Had a P0456 code. I didnt have a good scanner or the avoca smoka so I fired the parts cannon. I replaced it with the carquest one because all of them both OEM and aftermarket seem cheaply made. The carquest one has a lifetime warranty. Cheers.

These wildfires are something, you can smell it 1000 miles south in SC. I can't imagine what it's like up there fella.
A little tip for you eric. The proper way to check for an evap leak on a system with an esim is to unhook the vent hose from the esim and hook your smoker up to where the vent hose goes. that tests the entire system without having to pinch off hoses
I like your approach to diagnosing the evap leak. You did not simply go with the analyzer's suggestion to replace the gas cap. An intelligent approach.
