"When I hit bottom it started hitting back." NAH!!!!! This broke my heart and healed it right back. This was amazing.
This poem saved me from suicide so many times
"no-one wants to hear you cry about the grief inside your bones" FUCK!!! at this point I couldn't hold back the tears because this is what my depression tells me every day, so much so that I believe it now
This poem had me pouring my eyes out at three in the morning and it reminded me that recovery is good and that it doesn't mean you failed your eating disorder.
I must have watched them perform this poem in half a dozen different video but I'm a woman with simple pleasures: I see an Andrea video, I click
I discovered this when I was 14. I can never express my gratitude enough.
No matter how many times I watch her perform this, I always cry! It hits home! And she does such a beautiful job!
I had the honor of seeing her do this poem live and it was just so powerful!
I love the way they had held onto every single word as if they too were reminding themselves to learn now to live again and I swear I clicked this video at the right timing because I've been feeling like trash all day and I needed all of their words.

I always listen to this poem when the darkness gets too much
one of my all time favorites, so many lines hit home I have to pause and take a deep breath a few times during every listen

I learned the version of this poem in her book when I felt broken and kept repeating it over and over to myself. I'm so glad now to hear it in full.

I was not in a good place the first time I heard this poem and I remember the phrase "let me say right now for the record, I'm still gonna be here." I love rewatching this from a completely different place. It gets better

@@amazouzi4789 because this person is non binary. Non binarys are people who are emotionally and quite physically if you look closely, are not male or female in particular. You mention people like that with "they" or "them" since both he/she does not work in this case.
When in the end she said "take care of yourselves and each other" I fell in love with her more than I already had. 💜💜

Sent this to every one of my friends who I know have felt the same as me, and to everyone I've helped save from suicide and wish I could send it, so much, to all the people I couldn't, or was so young I didn't. I've watched it many times, and will continue to.
