Well said. There are two flaws to self-improvement content. One, people just consume, but don't apply or change anything. They just get a dopamine hit off the "intention" but have no plan of action. Second, people try to change too much to quickly. Working out, diet, socializing, giving up a bad habit, etc . . . Going from a lazy, unhealthy mindset to a zealous mindset. Worse, as you said, they change based on other peoples perception, success, and general advice that may or may not apply to them. Simple put, get inspired, figure out something you want to change, and then work on it. Then, after some time (usually a few months), fix/change/improve something else. Self-improvement or self-help is a business like anything else. So "buy" from the business what you need. And leave the stuff you don't on the shelf.
