A lot of people report mixed success mixing bettas with shrimp so today I am going to give you some ideas how to tip the scales into your favor.

I have a Halfmoon bright blue betta in a 5 gallon with a bunch of Blue Dream neocaridina shrimp. The tank is planted with Java fern, crypts, Java moss and red root floaters. I also added some rocks and a piece of wood. Lots of places for the shrimp to hide. That said most of my shrimp live in the Java moss. That is also where all the babies are born and grow up. My betta has never really messed with the shrimp, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he doesn’t get a shrimplet once in a while. He is well fed with a wide variety of foods though, so he never is really hunting the shrimp. I started with 10 shrimp and at last count after just a few months I have over a 100 shrimp. I also saw at least 4 berried shrimp yesterday which means my colony is growing fast. I plan to move some of my shrimp to some of my other tanks in time.

Great vid, some really good points🔥 I've always had good luck keeping Bettas and Shrimp but found a densly planted tank is a great starting point - break the line of sight reduce the chance of fights😂👌 Thank you thank you for another banger✌️♥️

I've been meaning to rescape my 6 gallon that houses a tangerine koi male who is very fancy and adding more plants for density. I really want to add shrimp but I'm a bit nervous because the rest of my tanks also house females or males. I have a rasbora 10 gallon but my bio-load for that tank is probably at most risk for being toxic although I test frequently and preform maintenance for water quality.

I have had lots of bettas of the years. My latest betta is a murderer. I've never had one that absolutely refuses to live with anything other than a mystery snail. I guess it was my turn to have a jerk.
