Maytag Washer making noises while agitating

- My 2 year top loader Maytag started making loud noises during agitating. It doesn't do it all the time but it's not right. It started making this noise a week ago. All other cycles work great, its just during agitation. Does anyone have an idea where to look for the problem.
I have the exact same noise with my Maytag…not sure if I should try to fix myself.
Hi, I have the same problem but mine is a lot louder now. Did you find the solution?
I had it fixed twice, did it again so got rid of the machine.
It was a constant problem with the agitator so got rid of the machine after the 2nd time.
Why didn’t they show how to fix it ?
He fixed it twice but it kept doing it again after awhile so I gave up and got rid of it. No more Maytags for me, plus it didn't clean clothes like it should. It was just a constant problem with the agitator.
Hi, did tightening the bolt on the cover fix it for a while? Mine does this and it’s like nails on a chalkboard, not to mention it’s so loud lol
Yes it did but then started again, this time it was inside the cover he had tightened up, a clip that holds the agitator inside dropped so he fixed it and it's been working ever since. Agitator both times was the problem.

I didnt have to pay for parts, just a service call, because he didnt have to replace anything
Did you ever find an answer. Mine makes exact same sound. Wondered if it was a coin lodged in the agitator.
I had a repairman come, it was a bolt underneath the washer that held the belt housing up. He said it probably wasnt tightened enough at the factory. Now 2 months later it's making a clicking noise while agitating, waiting on repairman again. Of course my warranty ran out. I will never get a maytag again.. Mine was only almost 3 years old.
@@lynnswift5004 thank you for the quick response Lynn. So many people fail to reply that I was surprised to see I had a msg from you. Mine is a little older.Maytag has a very good reputation but I’m not impressed so far, thanks again.
