One time while working on EA-6B an aircrew member lost a mini muffin in the back cockpit. Took the whole damn thing apart and never found it.
Should have taken the plane up, rolled it inverted and shaken it out lol.

Always wanted to fly and one day I will get my license but first I need to finish this last year and a half of nursing school. Love this channel, very informative.

I LOVE Jersey Mike's their subs are addictive. The girl who does the prep work is mean with the sauce and always puts a bit more than usual. Maybe that's why they taste so good.
When I was in the army, I was field artillery and infantry. We really loved having aerial support.
Try Velcro on the water-bottle cap. Use the hook part, and stick on your flight suit.

I had the pleasure to work on the F- 16 in Korea, I retired back in 1995 as a crew chief. It makes me proud to hear you talk with respect about Crew dogs like you do. I once had a flt in a T-38 while stationed at RAFB ,Tx . One thing I remembered I was one of the few that didn’t get a g-suit that day (during Christmas break) I was totally exhausted for two days. Your a (humble) fighter pilot who takes the time to help people who one day may follow your boots. Thank you Sir for sharing!!!

New subscriber here! I seriously considered going into the AF after college as I wanted to fly and I love going fast. It didn't happen for me, but in my family (including my aunt's/uncles and my cousins) we have every branch of the military represented. My 93yo grandfather, who is like a father to me as he helped raise me, is an Army Air Corps veteran. He's just finished cancer treatment (for the 2nd time) and still looks 15 years younger than he is (good genes on that side of the family lol). My uncle served 30 years in the Coast Guard doing some interesting work up and down the West Coast. I think he would have stayed longer if he hadn't needed to come back on shore to raise three boys as a single dad. I'll save the rest of my family story, except to say that I am incredibly proud of my family and I am beyond grateful to all those who have served. I hope everyone has a very happy, safe and healthy Christmas and for those celebrating the Festival of Lights, Happy Hanukkah!

Patch up! Colorado here. I went to Utah for work and didn't realize there was an airbase there till I was in the portopotty and heard an f-35 or two burn through the air mid stream 😊, then as I was leaving i ended up on the end of the strip and had a big bird swoosh over the tractor trailer I was driving. Totally awesome!
My father was copilot for the OH-58D i always wanted to get into flying. My favorite is the A-10.
While we live in Kentucky we would hear jets sonic boom every now and again.

I'm guessing that when you're at the controls of a flying gas tank and your only option is drowning in the ocean then staying awake all night is probably not quite as difficult as it sounds.

@@Cryptonymicus nah, imperial Japanese pilots lacked a radio in their zeros & many times they would fall asleep on a long mission ...the other pilots said they’d know because their wing would dip down slightly & it was over

I am a progressive and I will always, always support the members of our military. I have too many GLBT friends in the military (and the police for that matter) that deserve American's support, and I stand with them. The police may need reform, but they do a super hard job cleaning up for American gov (state and fed) policy and most are decent folks doing the best they can. Hassard is a patriot and I stand with him. I will always stand with our soldiers. Always.

Back in the 80s I was an Aeroscout on OH-6a. I carried hard candy and gum in the spaces that fit them in the survival vest. Some guys called me the "Candyman" but they were always begging something off me. I flew with Nam vets and they always had baby bottles of water, remember this was before Camelbacks and the waterbottles we see everywhere. I carried 2 of them myself. They didn't hold more than 10-12 ounces but they tucked anywhere.

No patch but I got a shuttle mission sticker from Commander Frank Culbertson. (I was dating his sister) Their dad flew Hellcats/Wildcats in the Pacific and flew under the Golden Gate bridge when he came back to the US. Enjoy your videos.

Actually getting a slot in jet training.
*granted, you have SOME control over how well you do in school, but there are a number of other factors that can play havoc on your scholastic performance. Home life, school funding, good teachers, and so on.
Did this man work hard to get where he got? Undoubtedly. Absolutely. He worked his ass off to get there. But he ALSO got lucky, because his circumstances lined up in such a way as to not hinder him overmuch.

Hey, Hazard... just wanted to comment on what a great video shot that was from behind your left shoulder. That's a view I've not seen before and truly expresses what you said about "strapping on the plane". I come from generations of Air Force family members, both past and present, and this upload about your drinks and eats was very informative. Thanks~

To solve the issue of the “lost water bottle cap” I suggest you use a Gatorade bottle with a sports cap. When used you just twist the top to open position. The cap does not come off the bottle but fluid is allowed to flow. Problem solved. Also if you chose to you can freeze the fluid so there is less chance of “hot” drink, pressure changes within the bottle, blow ups within your helmet bag, and similarly related issues. These bottles hold 750 ml and the mouth is large enough to facilitate filling with ice allowing “ meltdown” during the mission. I fill with water and add a electrolyte supplement or “flavor enhancer” for some variety. Also I put cable ties around the neck and attached a “snap bolt/clip” to secure it & prevent the bottle from places I don’t want it to go. I fly with CAP and find this has served me well on air or ground missions. I think this could be useful in your environment. I have photos of my setup but don’t know how to attach to this message. If you provide a portal to send to you I’d be happy to send for your evaluation.

Six to eight hours strapped in that tiny seat? Sheesh! I wouldn't be able to walk afterwards.
You can connect the cap to the bottle with electrical tape and cheap paracord, that way you get a cap that is connected to the bottle amd still keep the cheap and replaceable aspect of it

Just use a cycling water bottle with a recloseable spout. You can drink with only one hand. Easy!
yes, i'm thinking the same, it prevents big spill too in case of sudden turbulence.. but the downside is, the water flow is a bit low, so you need more time to drink, but no time wasted to screw unscrew the caps.. so i think it's better..

@@JimNortonsAlcoholism Me too -The good American People spend trillions on the best military hardware money can buy, but poor Hasard has to improvise his own hydration solution...the guys on the ground he's often supporting have a canteen but he can't have something...strange. Anyhow, I'd take a cycling bottle, but there's a military contract out there for someone who can devise a high flow, easy-squeeze-reclosable bottle Hasard et. al. can use for a simple drink of water when out there doing what they do.

Comprehensive and summarized explanation of food consumption during long flying missions
I don't know if this sounds dumb, but do you ever marvel at flying an F-35? I mean like, when i was a kid i read about the F-22, about how futuristic it was and was always at awe and felt that it would take a long time before I would see it in service. And now we have the F-35. Like, I can't belive I'm seeing it flying. It's just so incredible. I'm 30 years I'll be telling my kids stories about it, just like my father and grandfather told me about the F-4 and such.

You can tie a small string around the cap and bottle or maybe use glue so the cap doesn’t get lost
The cockpit camera of you inside the F-16 is incredible. All my life I've wanted to fly one of the teen fights, and I'm sad this is as close as I'll ever come. The view is incredible. Especially on my 65" Samsung lol

Ooh myy. I love to have those patches. Been dreaming to be a pilot since I was a kid but unable to be one due to financial problem.
Hmmm, in a car, on a bicycle etc we use "sports" bottles of water - the cap always stays on, so you can drink while focusing on the road and always keeping one hand on controls. Also good for picking, giving to kids etc. Various brands use variations of such caps, some even have sort of a valve in them to prevent spilling, but they can be annoying sometimes, so one needs to find what's the best for you specifically. I'm sure there are similar designs in US too.

There was a situation once where I could have had the opportunity to fly across the Atlantic Ocean in the back seat of an F-16B. It never materialized. I suspect it would have become miserable and brutal before the flight was over but I'd still jump at the chance to do it today.
Gotta get yourself a pop top for that water bottle. You cab get a reusable one online and wash it as you switch bottles. A lot of backpackers are using those bottles for their light weight and stick on a reusable top for ease. Thanks for the fun insight!

Get some dried dates. Super light and carb loaded with a stunning 65 Kcal each to avoid the bloating effect of protein shakes. I take many when we do underground deep drilling with little time for breaks..)))
If you lose the bottle cap,just go inverted and rock the wings until it falls onto the canopy..
Had an idea for your water bottle. Either tape a string to the bottle and hot glue the other end to the cap. You can reuse the cap and it will help you not lose the cap too.

you obviously have to know yourself that you are capable of executing fast and good solutions to any problem that you encounter
i think to be a fighter pilot, it's more to physical prowess, they need to be really fit to handle that gforce.. no short of breath, no high blood pressure, no glasses, no teeth problem.. while for the technical of flying, it can be learned, but of course, it's not for the lazy person at school, as they need to learn many things from the aircraft systems like radar, navigation, weapon system, etc..

I would ike a patch. I grow up in fairborn ohio by Wright patterson Airforce base. My dad would take me and my sister to the airforce museum a lot. My bucket list would be to be in a jet to feel the G forces. I love fighter plane. Thanks for your service.

Regarding the loosing of the cap, why dont you just epoxy a piece of string to the bottle and the cap. That way you cant loose it. Its super cheap and easy too
