you really shouldn't talk about something you don't know. 20 years ago, there was a concept for light combat aircraft in the west under the understanding that majority of the task in the airforce does not involve air to air combat and therefore does not require an expensive aircraft, instead you want a ultra light platform that can operate long endurance mission providing close support and recon in low intensive zones where you need numbers, this concept was push because airforce in the west realise there is no way they can do a 1 to 1 replacement of their current airwing to the F35, you need something else to provide coverage that is cheap. many of the design we considered in the west involve just converting existing civilian design or combat trainer for this role. effectively it function as a piloted UAV. if you compare F313 to that requirement, it actually fit perfectly in that role, freely their heavy fighter to purely air defence roles. the F313 is clearly a converted civilian platform. this does not mean it is useless or just propaganda. for example if they just need to patrol the gulf seas, they can just use a slow flying platform that burn fuel slower. it just need to capable of carrying 2 to 4 short range missiles rather than the multi ton payload of frontline fighters. the light armanent it already more than enough to threaten unarmed or enemy coast guard unit.

regarding aerodynamics: the reason EVERY SINGLE modern fighter has intakes angled down is because fighters are expected to operate at high angles of attack. The intakes being on top for this plane would mean that the engines would have degraded performance or even stall out completely during basic combat maneuvers.
Um, you never want intakes on bottom when you live in a dusty and sandy area. Nothing like sucking in sand at take off and most american aircraft suffered from this type of environment in Middle east.
@@ewaxcanada2328 The USAF managed to get around this in their middleeastern excursions by meticulously maintaining runways and labour intensive maintenance.
@@ewaxcanada2328 The issues with that is the Russians I think are the only people who have intakes on the top for that reason mig21, and they close the ones under the wing for take off and open as soon as they are up.
Also, the laminar flow on the top of the wings/fuselage is higher speed and smoother. Interrupting it with an intake not only creates more drag, but the dissimilar layers create vibrations in the engine fan stages.

They have Shahed-171 stealth drones with an range of 1,500 to 2,500 kilometers, their speed is relatively modest at just 460 km/h, making them more suited for close-range engagements. More suitable between Lebanon and Israel.
All kidding aside, I suspect there is a great number of such shenanigans. ( 7:27 ) I had immediately thought of the Boeing _"Bird Of Prey"_ test aircraft / large drone prototype. The "dropped" wings and large "bubble" canopy are a signature of what Boeing's _Phantom Works_ was researching - preventing shadows (also possibly using this in conjunction with "active camouflage"), and the stability of a "tailless" design. The aircraft was prototyped first by McDonnell Douglas, before Boeing bought them. The _"Bird Of Prey"_ was aerodynamically stable enough to fly without computer correction, due in part to the lift generated by its "chines" (the flat surfaces sticking out from the body forward of the "wings"), a "feature" from the legendary SR - 71 "Blackbird". The Bird Of Prey's lessons have been used in the X - 45 and X - 47 B large drone aircraft. The flight test model shown in this video can be seen in person on display at the National Museum of the United States Air Force, Wright - Patterson Air Force Base, in Dayton Ohio
Bruh as an iranian i can say with absolute certainty that iran is 30 years away from being able to build a Capable normal jet let alone an stealth fighter 😂😂
Seriously, it's mostly our old stuff from when our governments were friendly with each other back in the 70's still. The F35 suffer from the same problems and are even worse.. The F22 has been in service for almost 20 years.. Call me crazy, but I think it’s insane to award a company that built a jet that cost hundreds of millions of dollars and was riddled with problems for 10 years a contract to build yet another jet that costs hundreds of millions of dollars.. Hell they are already talking about retiring the F22. The F35 has been in service for 10 years and the government is pouring billions into its replacement . Doesn't take a genius to cannibalize some airframes to keep the other ones airworthy, and buy parts off the black market. Not to mention that Iran got a huge amount of parts and phoenixes for its tomcats from the McFarlane/Iran-Contra deal. F-4 and F-5s are some of the most proliferated jets in the world, and are so outdated that they are more of a flying junk.
I don't doubt that the Iranians can fix the airplanes they have so long as they have the parts. I don't even doubt that they have some people capable of building pretty good drones-given they've been selling them to Russia the last few years. At this point I don’t think we should even count the SU-57 as a stealth aircraft. Initial estimates put its observability at a similar level as the F-16. The fact that it isn’t doing deep strike SEED missions in Ukraine reinforces this appraisal. So really it’s just the USA and China that have developed stealth fighters.
Su 57 is an ongoing development project, recently being fitted with new engines, they're hardly gonna throw it into the frontline idiot. There are no true stealth fighters in combat, unless you want to count a balloon as a kill
You have logical dissonance, because Chinese aircraft don't participate in conflicts at all. Why don't you write that their stealth is similar to Spitfire from WWII?! So only one F-35 participates? No. Only Su-57 participated in conflicts with a well-trained army with modern air defence (in 2022, it was engaged in dropping conventional and smart bombs, there're couple of videos from Ukraine, but not single Su-57 was shot down), Russians were afraid that NATO will spend tens of missiles, but will shoot down Su-57 to study components and stopped using Su-57. US stealth aircraft haven't proven, because expensive US stealth F-117 in Serbia was shot down by Russian Stalin-era air defence, but F-35 fought only in Palestine against militants who have nothing, except RPG-7s for air defence and own eyes. US will also never send F-35s to Ukraine, even with its army, because Russians will start hunting them down for study components.
@@avadhutagita3741 So you think the SU-57 is a stealth fighter and the J-20 is not? There’s a reason India took a good look at the aircraft and bailed from the project.
One of the cleverest things in that film was that the MiG-31 Firefox was based on a downsized XB-70, so unlike most fictional fighters it was actually a supersonic airframe. The book and film predated the popularization of stealth, so the fact the Firefox is not stealthy should be forgiven.

I wouldn't call the J20 a stealth fighter. Having canards makes it inherently less able to avoid detection. Basically two large mirrors saying "Hey, radar, I'm right over here".
Exactly, thing is I would typically take reports from Indian Air patrols with a grain of salt given the king rivalry between India and China, BUT, apparently one of our fleets also had a C2C asset near enough for the radar umbrella to extend and could confirm the overheard Indian Su30 chatter that they spotted a flight of J20s at distances more in line with the RCS of a reduced vis 4th gen.
Canards do not increase the RCS like you think they do. The difference is negligible. For example, there were plans for a naval YF-23 that had canards, and it was not cancelled because it wasn't stealthy enough. Just look up the canard patent for stealth.
@@voidtempering8700 canards still have a negative effect on RCS and also are more suited to a delta wing supersonic design similar to the eurofighter, rafale, or gripen. But the point stands about the shortcomings of the alleged stealth of the J20

A stealth fighter isn't designed to be invisible because this isn't possible. Radar _will_ pick up a signal off of it eventually. The aim is to combine high range, high speed, with _low_ radar visibility so that, ideally, it's objective is either already accomplished by the time anyone knows it was there, or it's too late to mount an effective response.

No they didn't. Their "indigenously produced" F5 -- a 2-seater -- already existed, and are flown at Randolph AFB located in Universal City, Texas. They "invented" something that already exists.
The SU 57 is real, and outclasses the F35 in a lot of areas, in others it doesn't, although it serves a completely different role to the F35. If you look outside of wikipedia, there are around 50 already delivered, unsure why you think its fan fiction. Su 35 is extremely good, Mig-31K's are the fastest and one of the best interceptors on the planet, and launch kinzhals every week. Keep doubting their ability, because that's exactly what they want. BTW, S-400 and 500 is mass produced and much better than the Patriot, even Ukraine only just ran out of S300 missiles after 2 full years of war and 0 production. The Russians are just better at manufacturing stuff it seems
Everyone is missing the point. This will never house a person. This is their new drone fighter aircraft. Minimal payloads and not about devastating blows but surveillance and anti drone warfare. Distract from true intentions is the key and Iran is good at that. One of the most advanced drone manufacturers would never stray off what they are good at, only build them better. They have a deal with russia, advance drones for advanced aircraft. Way cheaper and smarter. Easy to clone if need be for domestic manufacturing and allows Iran and Russia to build technology on existing platforms without additional costs for programs starting from scratch. Ingenious and highly cost effective for both countries.

"Once the Islamic Revolution took place" (6:10) I wonder what caused the Islamic Revolution? Could it be that when the CIA usurped the democratic elections there that the people became angry? When Russia decides that the nuclear button needs to be pushed, I hope it's by Iran.
Also y'know how the glass on the f22 and f35 looks kinda gold tinted. Thats a special coating to stop radar from seeing the inside of the cockpit... And I don't see it on this one. So... Even if the rest of the plane IS stealthy you could probably pick up the human inside it on radar.
F35 usually looks blue or purple. Rumor is it uses aluminum doped zinc instead of indium zinc oxide like the f22. It also features a composite of multiple clear materials laminated together, while the f22 uses a monolith polycarbonate. Both are comparable in performance, but the f35 canopy construction is significantly cheaper to produce. Youre correct, just adding some detail.
It is also totally possible that the Iran heads of state are convinced that it is a stealth airplane. While the designers just won a big money contract.
Stealth aircraft carry armaments internally , otherwise, the armaments destroy the radar profile of the aircraft. So unless this plane can fit those missiles inside it , it is not a stealth aircraft.
At least with the HESA Saeqeh the Iranians actually had a real aircraft, even though whilst claiming it was an indigenous design everyone could see that they'd basically just modified the design of the F-5 they'd bought years before, in the same way they had claimed that the HESA Azarakhsh and HESA Kowsar were new designs but were obviously F-5's.

regarding aerodynamics: the reason EVERY SINGLE modern fighter has intakes angled down is because fighters are expected to operate at high angles of attack. The intakes being on top for this plane would mean that the engines would have degraded performance or even stall out completely during basic combat maneuvers.
All maneuvers are executed while inverted.

China stole the technology. They didn't develop anything
Just by basic design principles we can estimate an aircraft’s radar return (with radar absorbing materials included). The SU-57 is low observable compared to most 4th gen aircraft - but it’s not in the same range as the Nighthawk, Raptor, Lightning, or J-20 (nor the B-2 and B-21).

The went through the trouble of making a fake prototype to get some knowledge that you could find on Wikipedia?
Yeah? Nah!

The F313: The future of Iran's Air Force... all air no force.
Maybe its just really successful at the "stealth-aspect" 😅
After all, no one has seen it 😉
Russia does not have a stealth aircraft, the SU-57 has a similar Radar cross section as the F/A-18E Super Hornet.
I had not heard its stealth is THAT bad. But it is a moot point because only a handful were made.
Their only prospective foreign customer, India, backed out of buying them before Russia invaded Ukraine, . It has no international customer base, making it very costly.
Even at home, other than launching long range missiles from deep within Russia, the SU-57 has not engaged in Putin's ongoing, 30 month 'Special Military Operation'.
Given that all of Russia's weapons have performed poorly, their foreign arms sales has shriveled. Sanctions have compounded the issue. So, its future is bleak.
I don't know what's worse: The people in the comments actually drinking the kool-aid and defending this monstrosity, or the people that clearly didn't watch the video thinking that Simon was praising it
love the new glasses, Simon
You forgot the quotation marks in your title
If the 313 can carry all of the armaments that they claim, it will fly like a brick. I would like to see it fly. It would be entertaining.
I go with what "habitual line crosser " says, "There are two types of countries in the world, those that have true stealth, and those that use the metric system."
A journey of a mile starts with one step!
-This is an early April Fool's joke... right?
-The most realistic realization of this video is that sharks can surf (y'know, Surfshark? Sorry). 😁
-BREAKING: The F313 had its maiden flight on the 30th of Feburary. It reached a Speed of Mach 3.2 at an altitude of 95 thousand feet while successfully firing 18 Extended Range (300 mile class) missiles all at once and all of which hit their respective targets. Oh, and it has a combat range of 4500 miles.
How easily you are fooled by nonsense with no evidence of what your are talking about. Do you think the military is going to tell you the truth about classified hardware? How stupid you sound! Do you vote for Donald Trump? If so, it explains everything about your mentality.
You should do a video on Ghana's advanced weaponry.
Su 57 and the J 20 are low observables, not stealth.
J 20 is fast than f 22
Turky drone named Red Apple(?) is kinda top stealth drone right now👌
Iran designing competent fighter jet. hahahahahahahahaha

Just before everyone dies laughing at the Iranian aircraft industry, bear in mind that they have managed to produce their own copy of the F5. And kept their F-14s flying
OK, they might be able to produce a jet aircraft that does take on, fly and land successfully. But my question is how stealthy will it be?
irans has no copy of the F5 it just the old F5s sold to the shahs that they added body kits onto, the f14s are kept flying by cannibalizing a number of older airframes and will be unussable in another 5 years that is why they are buying russian migs
@@eduwino151That is only true for the Azaraksh, not the Kowsar.
No they didn't. Their "indigenously produced" F5 -- a 2-seater -- already existed, and are flown at Randolph AFB located in Universal City, Texas. They "invented" something that already exists.
No, the regime just re painted the old ones and said they made a copy.
Everyone was laughing when Iran first introduced their drones, if it's work it ain't stupid
Same fan fiction as SU 57
Sure to be another great video stream. Well done Mr Whistler, 👏👏👏👏 bravo 😊
So has anyone else seen the cudgel job of a drone carrier Iran made by throwing a flattop onto an oil tanker? I mean it's got an angled deck👍🤷, but the hanger deck is enclosed I think it was the ijn Musashi coral reef that also had an enclosed hanger deck....
"Once the Islamic Revolution took place" (6:10) I wonder what caused the Islamic Revolution? Could it be that when the CIA usurped the democratic elections there that the people became angry? When Russia decides that the nuclear button needs to be pushed, I hope it's by Iran.
wtf are you talking about
@@andylemStudy some history. The west disposed of Iranian democracy so they could get their dirty hands on Iran's oil.
1:10 you forgot about turkey turkiye
And South Korea
Lmao at the thumbnail! The shade 😂😂
Russia ??🤣🤣🤣
so stealthy even their pilots cant see them.
Looks like it would make a pretty cool homebuilt kit!... Just scale it down a bit.
If you see canards, start laughing.
They look so cool, though! 😉
That cockpit lid looks like the domes you would see on a retrofuturistic car as commonly displayed in Futurama XD
Or worse, Fallout 3! 🤣👍
