- The Minnesota Twins opened their second half by losing a frustrating game to the Brewers in extra innings. Down on the farm, the oft-injured and ultra-talented Connor Prielipp made a rehab start for the Mighty Mussels. It was brief, but impressive. Every pitch of his two innings of work is included in tonight's recap.

Just got home from tonight's game, what a brutal ending 😭 The vibes were incredible, most people I've ever seen there! Over 41,000 in the stadium was very noticeable! That Santana homer shut up my whole section of Brewers fans real quick. The defense in extras was tough to watch. First loss I've been to in a while. Oh well, onto the next one.
With the Statcast data out today, I fired up the stuff models to see how his pitches look without all the prospect publication rhetoric. He cuts his fastball quite a bit, should eat lefties but will likely struggle against righties. Slider looks as promised; I would love to see him try some other breakers with his talent for spin. A hard low 80s curve might help alleviate platoon issues. Change looks sneaky good and should both produce whiffs and suppress contact quality at above average rates. Premium starter stuff overall but it really looks like his pitch shapes will predispose him to platoon issues. Definitely interesting. FB-50, SL-65, CH-55.

I would 100% prefer games ending in draws over the current extra innings rules.
Watching this reminds me how little we agree about baseball generally and how we view the big team. Your the only guy I’ve talked to that dislikes the manfred man. That said you do a great job with these!
This got me curious. I put a poll up on Twitter and through 300 votes about 2/3 of people say they’d prefer standard rules in extras over the bonus runner.
@@TomFroemming well sensible people left twitter ages ago so I don’t love your sample. To be fair my sample was the three old guys I work with that all love it lol. My point is we get enough baseball like 200 games if you count pre and post season and that’s if you don’t watch minors. Like mlb is way closer to shortening the season and it’s not cause there focus groups are agreeing you. Just saying. Plus There’s nothing more boring than a 16 inning game.

I realized I was about to try to twist a narrative that didn’t really make sense in an effort to make the rule seem bad when in reality I just wanted to say I don’t like the rule.

Exactly why we need bullpen arms. I do not trust guys like Sands, Okert, or Staumont no matter how good theyve been.
Main thing is here twins are beat up and lost again to the brewers that's 4 loses in last 5 games not looking good on both fronts hitting and pitching
