- The Minnesota Twins scored seven runs on the day Joe Mauer was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame, but it wasn't enough. It was another competitive but tough loss at the hands of the Brewers in which the Twins couldn't find an extra hit with runners in scoring position. From down on the farm, there are highlights of Zebby Matthews' Triple-A debut, Cory Lewis' strong outing for Wichita, Rubel Cespedes' two-homer game for Cedar Rapids and Walker Jenkins sparking a go-ahead rally for Fort Myers.

very cool what a good guy man. absolute monster at the plate. he could of switched positions early on and maybe gotten some more years or maybe even some better stats but he stayed at catcher and absolutely deserves a spot in cooperstown. wow congrats to joe mauer.
Ugh - Margot 0 for 23 in pinch hitting for the Twinkies!
Honestly I didn’t even care about the twins game today because I was so excited for both Joe Mauer as well as Daniel Zebulon Matthews
Tough loss for the Twins today but I have a question. When Hoskins hit the HR to put the Brewers up 7-5 it looked like a fan leaned over the fence to catch the ball and it looked like Martin might have had a chance to catch the ball. Why was that not fan interference? I know the umpires reviewed the call but I really thought that should have been interference.
They have to determine that you WOULD have made the catch, not that you COULD have made it when it's a HR. Different for fouls obviously
If you watch the replay, you can see that the ball was going to hit the metal fence above the regular padded fence and if it were to hit that it’s a home run in that park. It probably would have ricocheted into the flower pots after hitting that fence. I don’t think Austin really had a chance at catching the ball
My favorite thing I saw about Mauer’s induction was - and it must have been a Rochester paper - a headline that said “Former Rochester Red Wing Elected to Hall of Fame” Yes, that’s exactly what he’s known for. Lol
