    Hi there! My name is Lily (Lyli J) and I'm an electronic music producer and sound designer.
    Today I'm doing an update on my tinnitus, since it's been almost 2 years since the original story video. To summarize, I still have a sensitive left ear and that 8kHz ringing pops up occasionally. It doesn't impact my life in any way except for keeping me AWARE of my health.

    Dear friends, I wanted to share something I've found as well that has aggravated my tinnitus and is better to AVOID: caffeine we already knew, but ASPARTAME (so Coke Zero for example) - is a no-no for tinnitus sufferers. It has been clinically proven to worsen tinnitus, as it causes certain types of inflammation in the body. Hope that helps some of you :)

    I've had tinnitus since I was 20 years old. I'm 65 years old now. I recently had an ear infection and my tinnitus has got worse . It has become unbearable and it's driving me mad. I hope one day they doctors will find a cure for it.

      Hi Julie I replied your comment on my 1st video. Have you seen other specialists recently? I hope that there will be progress as well for ear trauma and repair, it seems that a lot more has been done for other parts of the body but this one remains very mysterious.

      I have had tinnitus since I was a young child I am now 76. The tinnitus noise has changed as I got older and became louder. Some days it sounds like a worn bearing sometimes like being in an aircraft. Sometimes I hardly hear it at all. I did not realise until the pandemic made us wear masks that I am partially deaf in one ear and have been lip reading since I was quite young. I did have a lot of ear infections and also had measles. I understand that the problem is in the brain and notice differences when I have consumed different foods especially sugar or a lot of carbohydrates. I have recently started to listen to another UA-cam track out of curiosity not expecting much to change but I am finding that some old injuries are getting better. So maybe just maybe the tinnitus will also fade away.

      The only things that have really helped me were relaxing into the sound, meditating with it. Then it seems easier to forget. That and using one of those What frequency is my Tinnitus sites. After hearing my frequency out loud my inner sounds doesn't seem to bad. Also masking white noise helps temporarily.

    You are absolutely right,same story here,I've noticed that lack of sleep/anxiety, stress,caffeine and overthinking makes it worse! Also I am high sensitive (my nerve system also my ears). So it will never go away,i am learning how to live with it but it's not always easy especially when it's really loud. I do take a little comfort in that i am not the only one. There are more people suffering from tinnitus then i expected. Keep strong everyone ❤❤❤

    I've lived with tinnitus since my late teens. To put it mildly, it sucks. I couple of years ago, it started getting worse, and I was having constant headaches. My doctor referred me to an audiologist, who got me hearing aids. The hearing aids emit low-level noise that masks the tinnitus. It's still there, but my brain is being tricked into ignoring it. I'm doing a lot better, thank goodness!

    Thank you for making these videos. My situation has been very similar to yours, and I have reached many of the same conclusions as you did, so I am grateful to hear it from you. I had 6-7 months with very loud spikes every other day after an audio trauma (and 2 years with mild T), but things have suddenly improved over the last 2 months and I'm now almost free of anxiety. Tinnitus is still quite loud when I wake up, but unnoticeable most of the day and spikes are much rarer. As you say, it guides me to live healthier which is what I actually want, e.g. I watch my bedtime, coffee, stress, loud noises etc.
    Masking sounds never worked for me, but I think in some ways that helps me accept and embrace my tinnitus, as I realized there were no alternatives.

    Thx for this update. Magnesium flakes in hot baths reduce it greatly f me. Neck n shoulder issues/tension caused by stress/anxiety/whiplash or other neck issues can be a cause as they affect the vagus nerves. Self massage and Backnobber around that area can help. Also metabolic dysfunction ie leaky gut from food allergies, caffeine, sugar, carbs, dairy, plants, parasites, mold, metal toxins or emf’s. Elimination of these items can help reduce inflammation which I’ve read is main the cause of T.
    Also, once the brain hears the noise and it gets focused on, it gets looped and stays. Some ppl say TRT, CBT and pink noise or nature sounds have worked for them. Check out the vid: ‘T-Ringing in the Brain’. There are several ppl on YT that have helpful advice on T.

I already had mild tinnitus from a trauma and I kind of thought, that it couldn't possibly get much worse. But since about a month I hear several frequencies and one is especially bothersome, high and loud. It started after I had a particularly bad period and resorted to lots of loud metal.. I hear it always and it drives me mad. Until now I couldn't really believe anyone saying to calm down and move on but you helped me get some hope back and change my view on this condition. I got mine about 72 hours after the illness that I got on the night of the J and J vaccine. 3 years of nonstop, absolute misery now.

      Im very sorry to hear that this happened. it helped me to listen to ambiant nature sounds that were around the same frequency as my tinnitus. I hope you'll heal

      @LyliJ thank you for the well wishes. I like the sound of bath water running, but what really helps is the Tinnitis Descender video. For me mine is at its worst when laying down. Something happens when my body is in a horizontal position.

    • @LyliJ
      @LyliJ  7 місяців тому +1

      @@jamesc9168 yes it makes sense when you think about it - blood will rush in your ear when you lay down or even worse if you're upside down , causing the ear to pulsate more and worsen the tinnitus. I do yoga and whenever I do inversions (headstand) that ringing comes back immediately!

      @@LyliJ hmmm interesting. I was thinking maybe my tinnitus isn't actually a problem with my ears

    • @LyliJ
      @LyliJ  7 місяців тому +1

      @@jamesc9168 if you have inflammation in your body it can cause tinnitus, so not directly related to an ear injury, you are correct! fever and illness can cause temporary tinnitus. The fact that yours is still ongoing after 3 years though means it’s left a significant imprint on the inner ear , but the body is constantly changing and repairing itself, do not lose hope

    Have you seen Dr. Ben Thompson's videos? I listen to his Tinnitus SILK Sound Therapy for Relief videos and have found the right sounds that mask my specific areas of hearing loss that generate my tinnitus. I've also learned from Dr Thompson to avoid buying ANY supplements that claim to heal tinnitus because none of them are legitimate. I wish I had used ear protection years ago when I was playing drums in loud punk rock bands or attending loud live music but ... here we are at age 58 with significant ringing in my ears at all times. It increased in severity a few years ago and i'm not sure why. Best of luck to everyone who is suffering.
